It denotes where MOD property starts and public property ends….not there as a deterrent….that’s what the armed police are for….you’re welcome! Also….it can’t be “entrapment” as there are plenty of signs informing the public….it’s just that this waste of space can’t read them!
It warms my heart so profoundly to see a petty tyrant being put in his place. How dare they assume that because they are bored they can order ordinary people around on public property.
@@tentaklaus9382 did you watch a Completely Different video ? he Had PUBLIC ACCESS under the criminal justice act … but that doesn’t mean he is on Public Land & therefore doesn’t have the Rights associated with Actual Public land … so he Had No Argument , I’m Glad he Never caved in & surrendered his identity though .
That is why he used the word, "asking". There is a subtle difference and they know that the authority of the uniform will get many to submit even though they have no legal power to force people to supply that information. It was amusing that the Police themselves were not keen on supplying their own names.
@Brian Mooney , and what has to be happening for personal information to be demanded under S.50, anti-social behaviour is the answer. If no anti-social behaviour is happening then the Police have no legal right to demand that information. If your argument is that Police demand personal information knowing that that demand is in itself unlawful, then that should result in them either being dismissed or paying compensation personally. But we all know that the filth are protected by their superiors and the Courts. .... In any case you seen to be confusing what i wrote with what was written by Graham.
@Brian Mooney section 50 can only be used if someone is committing anti social behaviour. Anti social behaviour has the same definition of section 5 public order, using threatening or abusive words or behaviour. Nothing Matt did could come anywhere near the definition of section 5 public order.
Beautifully brutal introduction that one Mat and they thoroughly earned it too. You kept your guard up nicely -like your reply to 'we won't take it any further'-he wasn't expecting you to challenge it!
your - I Don't think it's that brave. They had no legal power to arrest and Matt would be in line for compensation if they arrested him. Matt knows that....so do the cops
Correct. It would appear that the sign indicates that the wooded area is off limits, not the footpath or roadway. And what on earth does a line on the ground mean. If they want to keep people out they should have a guardhouse there.
The whole entrance the base was open to public, scores of cars, bikes, pedestrians - flipping roundabout FFS directly outside the gate. All of them are potential risks, god knows how many dash cams. Not very secures is it?
The red line means danger. Oops thought I was singing Billy ocean red lights and got the words mixed up. It's just a base line that makes it crown land. Unauthorised use would be loitering and sitting having a drink on the grass or kerb side. Unauthorised wouldn't mean a person walking along the area for a purpose of taking pictures, travelling to a shop inside the red zone and there is also pubs MOT centre which is public. The line is a buffer zone. Not one thing would happen to you if they arrest you. Actually they wouldn't arrest you even when he asked. Because they know what he did was not illegal.
@@MarriedToTheKGB I’m absolutely top tip thank you for asking good to see you are ok 👌🏻 starblaster hasn’t said if they are ok though 🤷🏻♂️ I’m getting worried now 😟
@Brian Mooney you could call it agrivated trespass, but only if you were being a softy, there is nothing to see at the gate and police were causing more of a fuss then he was, clever cops observe covertly gather evidence and make a determination on "evidence" others just like security guards act like these and assert their authority just to say I'm the boss, it's my ball. Official secrets? Really at the gate? With him on cctv? Just comply because we want you too. If those pictures or video comprimise security that's worrying
@Brian Mooney That's terrific I didn't know you were a smart ass, but I know far to many police who don't know the laws and are only too happy to break them to make members of the public, "do as they are told"
Excellent stuff, Matt. Great to see these halfwits put in their place. I’m absolutely loving the way you no longer take their shit and stand your ground. You took the wind right out of their nasty authoritarian sails and allowed them to expose themselves for the dreadful fantasist creeps they clearly are. Carrying out photography? No, just taking pictures.
I was shown the boundary and agreed, he still got put in his place for being a aggressive prick. Get some good signage, maybe fences up if it is that big of a deal, you would just assume they are lying like most coppers do otherwise.
@@mat12128 You got your arse handed to you lad! You were on MOD property but because you’re so thick , you couldn’t read simple signs….you got it wrong on this occasion and rather embarrassed yourself….but all the other wasters on here won’t see that….get a real job and stop wasting people’s time.
Its the law.... And they're supposed to be kept up to date... But..... The DM should show if the entrance is a RoW...or not. But they don't usually show property boundaries in and detail. The LR is the place to go for that..
Not really clearly marked, one tiny sign on the other side of the road from where he come from, if you knew where you were going prior that is easily missed because most people look ahead at the corner of the bend not over the road when not crossing
@@Zeus-kj7nn Not well enough though, just because theres a line painted across could be anything from roadworks to grafiti without being properly signed in as is the case here (one sign, not in a location hinting where the sign would mean the road, and being a non recognised no entry sign from any that is standardly used by the highways agency ie the red circle with red line through) I and probably many others would have assumed that sign meant don't try going on grass and jumping the fence with it being nowhere near the road and the angle it was at. all this points to either that place trying to effect a takeover of public land or they are incompetent at putting their no entry rules in a clear way.
Who is that sign aimed at, people walking from the middle of the road, over the barrier and into the trees?! Not surprised you missed it Mat, even the copper agreed it wasn't easy to see! 🤦
Since when has a public road been classified? If our national security is down to these guys then its a good job we have seen lately how incompetent Russia really is or we would be in trouble.
It isn't a public road though is it? It's a private road, MOD property, that gives people with a legitimate reason to use it. Its not a public right of way. He showed Matt the sign and line and Matt accepted it
@@yorkshirewanderer6176 It makes it "not" public though. And if you own the road you can do what you want with it. Gotta laugh when you say Russia are incompetent...😂🤣😂. They're doing rather better than "we" and the yanks did in A'stan.... Take with a pinch of salt what the telly news says.
@@leathleyg5995 If you think that a road whether private or public that is visible to all from what is definitely a public place can be classified then you are as thick as those officers.
According to gov . UK , that red line is a "stop line" for the vehicles or " police control" whatever that means. Highway code says the same. And it looks like that property sign is for the grassy area with the bushes.
I'm a bit puzzled by the sign. It makes no reference to an unmarked line on the road. Why would a pedestrian know what a line meant? Why would anyone who doesn't work there? It's a fukkin line, that's all. Means bugger all, unless it's purpose is stated. As for the sign, it is totally disassociated from the line, and most importantly for me, such signs generally mean that it applies to the area behind it, not in front of it or to the side. It has no authoritative purpose whatsoever. To me, it simply states 'keep out of the trees'. Btw, you could have scored with the open goal that is dash cams. Would love to hear why they are an exception. "You're obviously no threat", but still want your details. Pricks. Sorry, Matt, gave up listening to their repetitive pish at this point.
That's definitely a bit of an odd one. There appeared to be lots of "unauthorised" traffic. Something doesn't quite add up. It looked like a Public Highway & the sign wasn't obvious. Walking to the Perimeter helped to defuse the situation but their initial contact was hostile. You did well to turn it around. Cracking Audit there Matt 👊👍.
Its a huge site, hundreds of acres and thousands of people working there. Its a private road, not a public ROW. Its not really odd at all. Its pretty much the same as driving into Sainsburys car park, or your local shopping centre. There's lots of private roads about, its not always obvious.
Matt have been watching your vids a couple o weeks now I'm just goin through the back catalogue , good vid's & I wish you well for your channel , keep em comin 👍
MOD property is behind the hedge to the right parallel with the sign not the red line, if it was the red line can they trespass all the motorists and pedestrians?
The courts must rule that asking for ID more than once by a cop is automatically considered a demand for ID. Or they'll stand there and say I'm asking 30 times. There must be a threshold ruled on how many times they can "ask".
Matt I've told you before IGNORANCE CAN BE EDUCATED, AND CRAZY CAN BE MEDICATED, BUT THERE'S NO CURE FOR STUPID. But you have my admiration and respect for persevering in what I think is a lost cause. Maybe you should give an award once a month for the most Fluent in BS 🍻
Oh My God Matt, you crossed THE RED LINE!! THE OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT!! HELP!! With what is going on in the World right now, these guys need to get a grip!! A man taking a few pictures of a Naval base - Their first approach was all wrong the way it was handled so good you stood your ground! KEEP FILMING! Stay Safe! - PINAC!
What about all the vehicle's that are constantly driving in and out of their precious naval base with dashcams recording!? It's a shame they don't put this much effort into fighting real crime! They had every right to ask you what you was doing but that's where the conversation should of stopped! Keep up the great work auditing.
Well done Matt putting these bullies in there place! You can see how much they want the public not to know there rights! Id is like crack to these fools!
How weird is that,....you can't cross their red line, but all those cars, push bikes & pedestrians can. Is it in their training to come out so hard and try to bully people, then if that doesn't work then start to act lawfully? Move the bloody gate to the red line if it's such a problem!
Evening Matt, I just found your channel as I noticed where you were.. I live very close to this naval base ,infact I can see the ships in the base from my house .. We use to see the big ships coming into the base before the incinerator was built there ..(ugly thing) ..
New law !!!! Police law. Everything in GB is private property Owned by police departments And photography is a crime That is what police officers taught us today
The question I always ask myself after watching video's like these, is why do we have the security threat in the first place? Who is responsible for the state of the UK security?
I would read that sign as i cant go on the grass (passed the sign thats sideways on to the path) they need to turn the sign 90 degrees so it follows the line.
I absolutely hate this profession. They haven't got a clue A pub fight and they wouldn't turn up. A burglary, not to be seen. Post meme and 3 turn up - hated by the majority.
You are spot on, MOD plod definitely wouldn't be called on to attend a fight on a civilian site because they are employed to secure MILITARY sites. The clue is in the name ffs...................
@Brian Mooney I 100% wouldn't call them. I would call an ambulance for the idiot who broke into my house. The chances of the Police turning up are slim to none. You keep your faith in the plebs in blue. I'll keep the faith in my ability to deal with intruders myself.
@@simplymatty Whoo how brave you are! I am no Police fan boy matt but I am able to use discernment and good judgement. Talk to me like that again and we'll have to meet up you wanker
What a jumped up petty little man, thinks the uniform makes him a superhero. Well done Matt owned that insignificant little man. He could bore a glass eye to sleep. Them two are like Dad's army not a clue
13:30 So security and police think that the use of a camera is a huge great security risk. Until they take Google to court for the photos available on Streetmap then I'll call his statements absolute bullshit and extreme gaslighting and just pure intimidation.
Old boy in the copper outfit started off thinking he was Billy Bollo*s and could use his bully boy tactics. He certainly changed his attitude when he realised he’d met his match.
If it’s that sensitive or secret……why not put a controlled gate at the demarcation point to avoid this situation happening. That might save some MoD Police time.
I'm at 4:08 and I can't understand why you told these cops to put up "No Photography" notices. If they did do that, the signs would have no legal effect, but such signs might deter other auditors and even impinge on the rights of the public. ,....Remember PINAC!, ffs
If its MOD property, is permissive access..-no legal right to even "BE" there....so no legal right to film. There's more than enough auditors in the UK trying to stand up for rights they don't actually have...
@@leathleyg5995 - Yep, I accept you're right - I posted before the end of vid. I'll try not to do that again. I had too much faith in the auditor, cos normally he's more careful than that!
The Official Secrets Act 1989 applies to people (namely crown employees and government contractors), in certain circumstances. It does not apply to places. It might apply to people working in a certain place but not the place itself.
Quite a poor start - but credit where it’s due: they did adjust their approach , and it ended quite pleasantly. Personally; I can forgive the ‘welcome’ if they adjust after a conversation. They will have learned from the interaction too, so all good. Good audit, Matt! 👍
If, as he states, "there is no UNAUTHORIZED access" then why are motorists and members of the public allowed to use the area where those plods first encountered you? Seems to me that they just took offence to somebody taking photos. Because if it was such a big issue ordinarily, that entire area would have access control measures in place, such as gates or barriers for instance. But there are none, until you reach the actual entrance to the base. Furthermore, I have just checked StreetView, and every thing you have filmed, can be seen on Google maps, right up to the roundabout directly outside of the base. They keep banging on about "Hostile Reconnaisance, as if every person with a camera is up to no good! Yet what about Google maps, what about dash cams, etc etc etc? Furthermore, how many military bases, prisons, or police stations have been attacked in this country by supposed terrorists? Their argument just doesn't stack up.
The roads going up to base are maintained by highways and council double yellows lighting road signs etc All paid for by public=public accessibility.👍👍
