Ahh.. he says to the shark as he puts on the powerhead, I got a little surprise for you! Nice dive, and I like that you show the catch after the dive. Thanks
Just wasn’t worth the time for it. Didn’t have a bag so was going to be a headache after the fact so I left it. If nothing else happened I was going back for it.
They get pretty big in the grounds. These two hadn’t completely changed to male yet and were over 12-13 pounds. I’ve gotten a couple big ones in the Carolinas as well.
So I’ve been spearfishing for about 40 years and I learned that when a device comes out that can deter sharks from bothering me buy it. I’m taking about guardian freedom 7 because I got tired of looking over my shoulder the whole dive for a shark like you were doing. Takes away from focusing on shooting fish
Do you have a way to disconnect the line from the shaft in case you have to defend yourself against an aggressive shark? That one the got off looked like a rock hind.
@@jasonbihari Got it. My friend was attacked by a hungry 10 foot tiger shark inside a cave. He had no choice but to defend himself. Even wounded the shark continued to attack his tank. He had to remove his bcd and swim to the surface.
@@jasonbihari Your problem is that you fish in abundant fish spots. If there are plenty fish there will be plenty sharks. When my favorite diving spots became overfished, sharks disapeared. Envy you. Keep it up👍
Shark showed up in numbers about 15-17 years ago when they changed the commercial fishing regulations on them. Had plenty of fish before that and never seen them. They are trained on most of the artificial reefs now snagging hook and line fish. They try to get my cripples and that’s ok as long as they don’t pester me for my stringer
@@jasonbihari I am planning a trip with my buddy with a bigger boat in a few weeks. It’s great to see the bottom so I know to bring a lot of tackle. Stay safe out there!
@@clearwaterboating we got a lot of red grouper on slow pitch jigs. Rigged them with hooks at the top to minimize snags. Had the trolling motor on so we wouldn’t drift and that kept us clear for the most part. When we drifted we would snag.
Thanks for taking me along on this trip. The above water cutting up was about as much fun as underwater, and the sight fishing red snapper at the surface was a first for me. I got some good footage so be on the lookout. Also I think the skoot brings in the sharks. I made 12 dives this trip and never even see anything grey.
That’s what it’s all about and really makes the trip fun. I was rolling when you said something about the angry fish rap guy. The scooter very well could’ve been it but I also had sharks on me when Chad was the other way and they were there on the bottom on two of those dives on the way down.
