That will be Charlie Lawrence. Congratulations on him having the initiative to stage some opens for KLAA on the Middle Level. He deserves more support.
Fished this section a lot last year, feeder was good but the pole line was insane. Big skimmers and tench. I caught a lot of tench last year from crooked.
The Middle Level was my favourite when i was fishing the fens in the late 70's and early 80's and the Neeps bridge area was recommended to us for quality Bream. Methods then were balling in Brown groundbait laced with casters and fishing the bomb with either caster or worm. Another area between Neeps and Mortons was the site of an old bridge called Podike which still had its footings on either side of the drain and this bit really did have some Bream in it. We drove to it up the side of some fields but it was not easy to get to.
@@roymanewell4958 We came from West Yorkshire and used to by Sheffield AA day tickets which were 75p from a shop by Three Holes bridge. Problems with bank to bank duckweed on some of the drains but we never encountered Zander in the 5 years we fished. They were one of many factors of the decline together with pesticides but hopefully the good times will return.
