That was one of my favorite songs from the movie the rose. Had the movie on VHS played it so much that I messed up the tape had to get another one. Bette Midler you are one hellava singer and dam good actress.
I love this legend. Cant get anyone better than Bette. I finally got to see her live at the Manchester Arena last July and OMG what a night. I was sat in front row and was just so high from her energy. Got all her albums and movies and autograph etc. Brilliant lady. xx
@@hammycats6919 I bet, I have been a fan since 1972, I was 14, it's been 50 yrs now, yes she is the greatest entertainer, I wish I could have gotten to see her when she came to Atlanta when she did concerts here more than once, she is awesome
Whose Side Are You On? is the opening number in The Rose...unless you're talking about the finale....the instrumental was called Camellia and the song she sang after that was called Stay With Me Baby,,,
As did Bette herself immediately. She only agreed to do the movie if they changed the title and took J.J. out of it but agreed to play a "type-esque rockstar" character. She said it was too much and anyone would fail in fitting in those shoes. What class....
I suggested she sing this again when I met her at the NYRP Spring Picnic that year. She performed it on "THE TONIGHT SHOW" just for me in anticipation of her upcoming 'KISS MY BRASS TOUR" which was amazing!
