😅 I was thinking, "Wow, those Disco songs were long!" Then we got a twofer at the end. The Midnight Special is trying to get us pumped up for the show tonight! 🙌😄💜
They were long. I was never a disco type. I was a rock and roll freak. Maybe because I could never dance. lol. But whenever I was at a club or a wedding I loved watching everyone. They were always having a lot of fun and they did always run one song right into the next. It seemed to be the natural thing to do because many of the songs had the same beat and the people dancing never missed a step. Disco got a bad rap by a lot of people back then, but it was fun for people dancing and even fun for me, to watch people dance and have fun.
Now we have the alternative to go to the seniors disco! They play only slow songs for the old legs that aren't no longer so fast like they used to be 😂👍(joke!) 😍Greetings from France 🇫🇷 🌹
Another party people anthem! 🎶 Just imagine if this was a Friday!! 😮 wait. Hold everything. It IS Friday!!! What you waiting for?? Get up and dance! Let’s go down to the disco! Let’s go! 🎶🌟
Oooh we Love to Disco Dance with the Commodores! 💃 🕺 Funky Great Stuff here, Lionel Richie is so handsome💘and what great vocals & dance moves they ALL have!
Oh man I remember watching this episode of The Midnight Special! Loved the Commodores! I don’t think I ever missed an episode, the only thing was hard to get up on Saturday morning to go to Catechism for 3 hours! Oh how I wish I could relive my younger days! They were truly the best, didn’t have a lot of clothes, shoes, and etc! But I sure had fun just being a kid and teenager❤
That has to be one of the hottest, tightest performances I have ever seen. It aggravates me that Mr. Ritchie went totally solo. He should have approached his career like Stevie Nicks, group album, solo album, group album, etc. After this performance, I would have paid anything to see the Commodores.
Disco money was kicking in..everybody had to turn in a Disco number. Their ballads saved that album. They redeemed themselves with hard Funk on the ""Heroes" album. SIP Milan Williams
Good question?! I love Tulsas GAP band, their initials stand for the street names: G reenwood. A rcher. P ine. “You Dropped a Bomb on Me”🎶 is a groovy tune.
I wasn’t a huge Stevie Wonder but his album Songs in the Key of Life is amazing and a must for anyone that owns an album collection. I would love to see an Ohio Players vid here on TMS. Their work is ridiculously good. I didn’t know that they were Tulsa or much let knew what Gap stood for. Thanks, much appreciated. Used to hear that song in the roller skating rinks. Had a girlfriend that would flip lids when they played it or hearing on the radio. The volume went from listening level to intensity of ten cities. Good times but crazy times at the same time.
