MIDST | Garage Sale | Season 1 Episode 16 

Holy shit. It all makes sense now. iirc The notary lady told Moc Weepe that opening a Trustee account soon would be most beneficial. She knew that Midst was about to be sold and knew that new accounts would get a special bonus. That's why Weepe's payout was so big. It was cashed in on the day that Midst was bought (If I'm understanding the timeline correctly.), so Weepe's bigger payout was WAY higher than he calculated. He wasn't expecting it because there obviously was nothing in the handbook about a new account bonus for residents of Midst as it wasn't under the Trust until today. Even in the previous episode, we saw that he managed to beat everyone to the punch, even ahead of the public announcement, by pure luck. Incredible writing. No story has ever made my pull out the red yarn like this before.

"oh oh oh people joke that I am the major of Midst" said weepe in episode 5. And now, he will be its owner.

HAHAHHAH YESSSSS. Back when Goldfinch winked at Weep, saying "the most favorable rates might be... even tomorrow" And then when he opens his account they run out of valor. I knew it back then and now it is confirmed. I love when narritives pay off some thing for viewers who pay attention.

CR REMEMBERS GRANT IMAHARA Today's Midst new episode was was posted in July 13 (in my timezone), which coincidentally is the date of Grant Imahara' passing in 2020. Matt Mercer had confirmed that C3 NPC Imahara Joe was named after Grant. And with Midst recalling "Goe's Garag" to C3 Joe's workshop, I remember Grant as well. REST IN POWER, GRANT

???!!!!???!! I'm trying to work out what some of the consequences for the residents of Midst could be. They NEED to sign up to the Trust or they may get evicted, wind up in debt trying to just maintain what they have. Those who are wanted by the Trust are in grave danger of being found out, and they certainly can't take advantage of the Trust's offer. Wow. Pure, unadulterated chaos.

Hoo boy… I got concerned last episode because it marked one of four conditions in the opening when the moon fell (There’s some sort of sale, Lark is with Tzila, Weepe has hit it big, and Phineas kills someone) but now we’re on three met. It’s definitely happening in an episode or two, depending on how long Phineas’s condition takes. (Edited for autocorrect issues)

I am so glad I gave this show a 2nd chance. I listened to the first one, then took a long break and binged the rest. The story telling is so captivating. I really hope they get the views to keep the show going for quite some time!

Wait…they’re two seasons in and we are just getting caught up? This like my friends learning Critical Role was years old when they started.

I've been recommending Midst to my family, I can't get enough of this expert story telling. I feel invested in the world and it's inhabits 💟💛💙

We are now starting to come full circle to the events of the first episode. Hoo boy, shit is about to get REAL!!

Okay, so... this thing just crossed my mind --- In the first episode's intro sequence, it's mentioned that there is a woman fighting against a crowd leading a girl with her. I'm betting that those two in particular are Lark and Tzila, just based on their interactions here and also how things are building up story wise. But that's just a guess

Oooooh we are getting there…. So close, so close. Every step closer to the begging. That first hook that just captured that moment that made you ask the question WTF is that about. ❤

Things are coming to a head! I hope the body Phineas drags somewhere in episode 1 is not Tzila’s father.

And btw, Imelda Goldfinch is a lot more important than we thought, if she is sent as *_the single spearhead_* (Notary) of this *massive* covert op which generates top-level law-enforcement protection and media coverage when revealed. I'm pretty scared of her now. Think about who you send to hold the line at that moment.... and that's who she is 😬

My love for this experience grows as much as my hatred for the Trust!

Dont think I've forgotten that Thatch kills someone in probably the next episode. Who the heck is it going to be? Also the crowd makes so much sense, and the Trust suddenly just became significantly more terrifying.

I love Midst and look forward to each new episode. I love the tension running through this one.

Between the episodes, my fingers click to the first episode again and my mind awakens to details that walk purposefully towards conclusions unrevealed yet, but that makes the echoes of the footsteps resound with the graceful writing of the author(s). Thank you for sharing!

So my question now is: Did Cosma Laslo know the moon was going to fall, or does she cause it to somehow? It seems like too much of a coincidence that it would happen the DAY that the sale of Midst goes public. We know that there’s a large mining industry surrounding the moon (from Weep and Saskia’s song and the mention of the mining ships when Phineas and Sphar land on the islet). So was the moon already stripped of its resources and structurally unsound, prompting the baroness to cut her losses and sell of a diminishing asset to the unsuspecting Trust?

Wait... I feel like I'm missing something about Caenum and Valor to explain what the scoop here is, why so many of the people already living on Midstt are so excited. Not to mention being unsure about how this sale will effect any of them there that aren't escapees.

....But you probably should still get the heck outta there, Lark, while everyone is distracted by... gold rush fever? I admit I have no idea what the play is here -- mostly because I didn't realize that someone owned Midst as a whole in the first place -- but at least I can begin to see why the moon. OK, fine, if I take it as read that Baroness Laszlo owns the entire islet (how? why?) and not only had the *right* to sell (no others had any vested interest, which seems odd), but also the *desire* to sell (which seems odd as well), I still don't get what the Trust is after buying it. I get that they're now grifting the whole universe to trade in their regular money for essentially stock options (paid out as previously-established valueless Valor), but what/where is the fabulous riches that are supposed to be luring all the rubes? Is it mica? But if it was mica, wouldn't Baroness Laszlo *know* she was sitting on a gold mine (pun intended) and refuse to sell? Unless she's a 1) True Believer with 2) something to hide/Caenum to remove, or 3) the "wealth" that is now being redistributed so freely only becomes so at the moment the Trust takes over. Their ability to smoke-and-mirror real goods into imaginary ones is absolutely phenomenal. I'm beginning to suspect that the Trust is based upon a real-world organization I'm thinking of...😂 *_BUT WHY DOES THE MOON FALL??!!_* 🤔🤯

OK now I’m a little bit more confused than worried. Clearly something big just happened and Fuse was the fuse…. 😅. Clearly what was in that note, was more significant than what I originally thought…

Working theory: We now know that three of four events from the first episode have been fulfilled. Those being the huge crowd celebrating in the streets, Mock Weepe carrying a massive payout, and Lark travelling with Tzila through the crowd. But, now we have to figure out Phineas' supposed murder aftermath. Hear me out: What if the mica ship from the intro episode was carrying the real enemies the entire time? Like those who are targeting the Trust and their members? And perhaps Phineas stumbled upon one such rebel in mid-coordination with someone to launch an attack on the exposed Trust members on Midst? Like, say, using the mica "moon" as an improvised weapon, to completely obliterate their enemies, in a surprise attack? Discovering this, Phineas is noticed by said rebel, and they attempt to kill him, to no avail. Phineas ends up killing the rebel instead, and has to drag thir body out, just before the moon strikes the planet's surface, like a nuclear bomb. Thoughts?

Ooooohh i remembered that in Phineas' introduction episode we saw the ship getting attached to a big piece of Mica. I cant exactly remember the reason but, is it perhaps tje same reason the moon crqshes against Midst? And maybe Phineas realized this and tried to stop it from happening but nobody listened? (The armored figure draggin a body in episode 0)

I know she's the protagonist but part of me wants Lark punished for what she did to a seemingly happy, kind old man who was just (very justifiably) afraid. As far as both of them knew, the consecutor was there for Lark anyway.
