Stainless steel was used in a lot of the airframe and skins! Nothing else at the time(except titanium) would handle the heat at full speed! Another cool fact,When they took this plane up and wrung it out,got to the just over Mach3 top speed,the engines were basically destroyed! Not pulled for rebuilding,pulled and scrapped!! Now that's an airframe!!! It could withstand a full power run that destroyed it's own engines! That was the limiting factor with the Phantoms,they never knew it's absolute top speed, because the airframe would come apart from the stress. Always loved this huge, just obscenely fast interceptor!!!! This one in the video looks like the high altitude recon version.

Видел мальцом как этот миг взлетал на максе, а через 11 лет встретил господина Коростиева уже на гражданской работе, при этом до недавнего времени даже не знал кто он, спасибо этому видео!
Изделие 22, МиГ 25 ПУ, учебный вариант. Небоевая машина, использовалась для обучения пилотов и совершенствования их квалификации. В каждой авиационной эскадрилье было по две штуки.... Первый полет в 1969 году. В 1977 г. на таком же самолете летчик Савицкая установила ряд мировых рекордов. В 1985 подобная машина переоборудована в компонент системы "Буран"....

These aircraft were not built to last. every Russian fighter is just a throwaway jet to try and keep up with American air superiority. Even then they don’t have the funds to remotely keep up with American avionics. Cheap and fast that’s all Russian aircraft are.

Like the americans are durable...they are just expensive, nothing more. Do you know russian T34, second world war tank? Germans had much better Tigers, King tigers and lost in Russia because often many is better than super tech. Americans had air superiority over Vietnam and...they lost in almost 10 years war with people without anything other than AK47...Do you know even Mig 25? It was so advanced that Americans got it only because of deflecting russian pilots in Japan after stealing plane and so on. What now does USA has as their newest jet fighter plane? Old F22 and also rather old F35 in comparision to SU57? Russian has poor economics but when comes to army, they give it almost everything, and always did, this is they war doctrine. Some of the largest afterburners ever made! And if I remember right, the afterburners produce a near white flame when at full power. These were not full power flights....
I really have a lot of respect for this aircraft. Purpose built for one thing and one thing only: to fly as high and fast as possible in the shortest amount of time. What's funny is that the Mig-25 was a result of the Soviet's reacting to an aircraft that was never put in service (the XB-70) and the F-15 was made as a reaction to the Mig-25 after us Americans thought that this thing was some sort of super fighter when it was, in fact, a very fast interceptor.
Mig 25 był w tamtych czasach jedynym samolotem który osiągał pułap tzw bliskiego kosmosu a przez obsługę i pilotów był nazywany latającym monopolem z powodu dużej ilości spirytusu w instalacjach np przeciwoblodzeniowych.Podobno często zdarzało się ze obsługa i piloci byli bardzo weseli☺
imagine the Wright Brothers had this Foxbat in the early 1900s. Man, how far technology has come. And the Foxbat was designed in the 60s. We're almost 60 years past that now. Love the Russian music as it's taxiing too in the video's beginning. I can't imagine how loud it must be in the cockpit without a helmet
the engine is technically built for missile but the soviet union need an interceptor for fast american bomber thats why they choose to use that engine. it can theoretically go up to mach 3 but russia doesn't have enough manufacturing capabilities to extract titanium or any strong alloys
Это не шум! Это рёв тиранозавра! Если стоять на расстоянии 500м. от ВПП по курсу взлёта, когда МиГ-25 на форсаже проходит над головой - кажется, что кто-то со страшным треском разрывает небо в клочья! Ощущения непередаваемые! Обожаю этот самый быстрый самолёт!
А там на заднем плане еще F-15 виднеются - я их крайний раз у нас в гостях в 2011 году наблюдал )) Ну и МиГ -25 прекрасен, хотя ПД-шка была бы еще прекраснее без ступенчатых кабин.
@@rai-kyper ну конечно же это учебный вариант со ступенчатым расположением кабин, которое портит изначально весьма совершенные обводы, я поэтому и говорю что ПД смотрелся бы лучше.
Headphone users beware "LOUD AS HELL'!!! Gotta love it though. Big gigantic engines only problem don't go past Mach 2.8. if you do, you'll most likely burn the engines up and they'll have to be replaced. This happened to A Mig-25 that was clocked going Mach 3.1 over the Sinai in 1973. The pilot landed in Egypt with the engines totally melted. Lt. Belenko who defected in one to Japan in 1976 told of the same problem of melting engines if pushed to far during his debriefing. One of my favorites though mainly steel and rudeumetry by today's standards. Check out the book Mig Pilot which is about Lt. Victor Belenko and hid life as a Mig-25 driver, its a Fascinating read you'll all like it. Funny the engines at the end sounded like a Bi-plane. Lol.
Nice two takeoffs and flyby and a perfect landing I like mig 25 fox bat they are bigger than the sukhoi 27s 35s 37s 30s 33s 34s not as big as the mig 31 fox hound
