@@rhokesh4391 I really hope they don't follow the campaign in that regard and include Yasha for the entire series (well except when... things... happen.) For C1, Ashley attended via Skype as often as she could but for some reason (production value?) they didn't do that in C2. It'd be cool to see what would have happened if she was present for some of those events! And especially seeing character moments between her and Beau/the entire crew that are animation-exclusive would be treats for us critters.

@@topkekbieri They could still keep it in but as a side story like they had with Pike for Vox Machina. Every now and then show us what Yasha's up to when away from the group.

@@topkekbieri it wasn't a production value issue it was a time zone thing, she was in NY filming and tried to make it in as much as time allowed but if she had a 5am call time, she couldn't play until 3am and also have time with her fiance Bryan who was splitting time between coasts

Also since boycotting the DnD movie seems to be a popular option right now, this and its support shows that fans of Dnd (and CR) are interested in "big budget" type original series and such with these themes (since a lot of people seem to worry that if the DND Movie does bad it will only reflect poorly on that genre of films being made in future)

@@Awol991 It was very obviously dnd 5e. Before they got on geek and sundry they did play a few games of pathfinder and even one game of dnd 4e. But by the time they started streaming they were using dnd 5e.

With how passionate everyone is at Titmouse I think they would go the expansion route. All I keep hearing is that CR and Titmouse mesh so well that going to another studio doesn't sound like a risk they would want to take.

For sure, one way for a company to die is by having too much success. This is even more of a risk for a specialty field. Anime shops absolutely run the risk of not having enough talent and/or time to do what they're contracted to. Good luck to them.

Since Titmouse is their production Co. it's more than likely they already begun hiring more employees. It makes sense really with how their success has done nothing but continue to rise.

Yea I was confused with this news. They still have a lot of content to finish up in the Vox Machina campaign and the Mighty Nein campaign takes place afterwards in the Lore. I understand creating the Mighty Nein campaign after finishing the Vox Machina one, but both at the same time seems like they're going overboard and some problems might arise from that. (Overworking, loss in quality, etc)

@@nokturnallex2160 I think they will do the planning stages, and some drafts of character art while they are working on the first campaign's story. They may even do some early voice recordings, but i woulden't expect full production to begin until either the first show is done, or they are on the last season.

We love Vox Machina as well...but Mighty Nein may also secretly be our favorite

I just woke up to the news and am sick with COVID, so while I was excited about the movie deal, my brain didn't make the connection... Series for the main campaigns and movies for ExU would be *absolutely perfect!* While I don't think Aabria or Brennan have quite animation-worthy voices, if they had cameos that would be incredible! ...and holy shit, I need Aimee Carrero in animation as Opal right yesterday... "NANCY!"

@@IceMetalPunk Aabria should DEFINITELY reprise her role as Laerynn in animation should that happen. She's got a great voice, just needs some coaching. Same with Brennan, he needs to get a big role in it!

Ehhh stick to the main stuff. All the EXU kinda burned me out on DnD. Keep the worlds Matt built and leave the lady who's name I cant pronounce out of it.

How good would a Calamity film be? It should be a movie, and not a show.

@@jynx2501 if they changed some of the voice actors to main cast id probably be more likely to enjoy/watch. But theres 2 or 3 people that were in it which made it unwatchable for me.

I find that to be the case with alot of people there fav is m9.because thats when they joined and dont have the knowledge of what VM was really like live. M9 is.fine and all but Scan man cover songs shutting down bosses mid legandary action, the burn Reynolds gag with deception, vax and his deals with the raven queen, whats scanlans parents names?!?!?! People will never understand how much more weight c1 had compared to that week floating city end of c2.

@@mikephillips1043 to be fair, Vecna the Undying King is the quintessential D&D big bad imo. Not to mention the fact that the Chroma Conclave was downright TERRIFYING. The Briarwoods and Anna Ripley were also beyond iconic

@@mikephillips1043 the nature of their adventures was obviously different but i really don't see how not fighting bigger badder typical evil guys makes the m9 any less amazing. they still saved the world from what would've basically been an evangelion-like singularity event with cognouza absorbing humanity into itself. it still had just as much weight, in an extremely narratively compelling way too; because of *course* they did it by getting part of their thought-dead friend back, also giving the audience a chance to actually learn what molly's deal had been about. vox machina is a lot more typical d&d, the party are ultimately character archetypes. great characters sure, but personally they just don't come close to the raw humanity of the m9 cast. and honestly not only that, thematically campaign 2 just managed to be so consistent and full-circle that i genuinely wonder if some of the dice roll results were really not scripted and imo this just doesnt happen with c1.

@@mikephillips1043 Personal opinion but highly disagree. They were different, but different doesn't equal bad. And Brandon did amazing on putting in emotional scenes and some really hard hitting moments while expanding the history of Exandra in a super cool way that would make for a great historical-prequel movie to fill in world lore.

I think exu calamity as a film actually would work better than a series. Yes there is a lot going on, but it's a cohesive short story, In comparison to the full campaigns, so keeping it contained to one thing would be a good choice. Also it would serve to show just how fast the calamity actually kicked off, since the entire minicampaign takes place in about an evening (definitely not more than 30ish hours total of in game time)

@@kl-1447 I meant mini-series in the oldschool sense. They could do it in 1.5ish hours as a film definitely, but I could also see them doing in a two or three part mini if they wanted to expand on certain parts a little.

With the "film" announcement, I would not be surprised to see it be a movie. The majority of the runtime was due to how long combat takes to resolve IRL... though they better do a Matrix-style slowdown for the infamous "1 second" moment from Episode 4.

Agreed. But hey, totally random question here-- what do fans call the Essek/Caleb pairing? We have cute versions of others, like Beauyasha and Fjordster. But I can't come up with a good sounding name for that particular couple. Essleb? Calek? Brenek? Esren? Nothing really works. :\

I was thinking that too, and I could totally see that campaign fitting nicely into a movie-length runtime. It would be perfect for film! Toss it in with a box set of Vox Machina DVD/Bluray, and you're golden. =D

Travis will be a big part of the Mighty Nein show...so that shouldn't be an issue...what with his Fjord Focus........we'll see ourselves out.

This is really uncharted territory with all the irons in the fire for him. It'll be quite the Fjord Expedition.
