I used to watch this show every morning with my dad before school. Crazy how a sports talk show can hold so many happy memories for me that I’m always wishing I could get back. Mike & Mike will always be the original first take in my eyes.
Same here, I started every mourning with a cup of coffee, a few smokes, and Mike&Mike in the morning. ESPN has turned in to SJW trash ever since and I refuse to watch it.
Been listening almost every morning for about 8 years since I discovered the show as a young teenager. This day and age isn't built for shows like this sp I understand the reasoning behind it ending but it's still gonna be different. Wish yall the best with your next projects.
Err, the thing is, they replaced it with the exact same type of show. Same layout and everything. Just a different guy doing it with golick. It was behind the scenes stuff that led to this ending.
I started watching when the show was just beginning and I certainly know I enjoyed watching those early years all the way through until maybe 2012 or so. Good luck to both you and thanks for all your hard work in putting together my favorite sports talk show ever.
This is surprisingly the most underrated sports morning show/ESPN show ever. I started listening to them at some point in the 2000 and immediately especially as a traveling land surveyor. I could listen to them in the world truck, no matter where I was in the country. They were a part of my morning routine for 12 or 13 years and I was so heartbroken when they went away. There has not been a better sports morning radio show since these guys went away. I’ve heard rumors that they don’t like each other anymore in real life and I really hate that. In a perfect world. I would love to see these to get back together for another morning show even if we only got three or four years, it takes me back to a time when Americans didn’t hate each other so much.
Underrated how? It was beloved by millions of people for 17 years. ESPN aired full shows and best-ofs constantly. The show put those guys into the broadcasting hall of fame. People still talk about it and watch clips on RU-vid. It is fondly remembered by fans and critics alike. By what metric do you think the show was, not only underrated, but the "most underrated sports morning show/ESPN show ever"? Genuinely curious.
I remember some years back Greeny said he imagines that when the show ends, him and Golic would probably never speak again. And not because they had beef, but because they were so different. He said this years ago. Sad to see these guys gone. Good luck to both!
Literally, just listened to the last pod cast and had to watch this on video because I started to get teary eyed. You guys have kept me in touch with my love for the U.S.A. for the three years I've been working in the U.K. I'll miss listening to you everyday. Thanks for the laughs, the knowledge, and for being an example of great character in our country.

Greeny never told Golic he wanted out of radio. Golic found out about it on the web and was pissed. They've mostly forgiven but still looks like it still bugs him.
I really enjoyed this show and listening to it in the morning.....crazy its been off air for over 6 years now.....i do enjoy the panel nowadays on get up tho
He wanted to explore other options. 17 years is long enough at the same gig. He's a journalist by trade. Golic isnt.. A true friend would respect that and not try to handcuff you
Sucks all those years waking up to mike and mike watching in a.m. then listening to them taking kids to school as my kids grow up time went by mike and mike were always there. They will be missed big time.

I used to watch or listen to these guys about every day off and on for many years. They aways always did a great show and were true pros. Another epic combination from espn that I think could be in a broadcast hall of fame.
Although I haven't watched in years, I used to love this show and used to wake up and watch it in the morning and it's unfortunate to see it go. I hope they resolved or resolve whatever issue they may have had
😭 I saw this show everyone morning when I woke up for school I’d watch it for 5 mins before the bus what a journey thank u both of u for fulfilling my morning , I didn’t even know it ended cuz I don’t have cable now but again THANK YOU🙌
Loved these guys. From 8th grade in 2009 until the show ended. Im on the west coast so normally caught a rerun or podcast when possible but got up at 3:00 to watch the final episode live. Still love these guys to this day despite the rocky end to the show. Still listen to Greeny every day and cant find anything with Golic since Sorry in Advance seems to be done. Anyways, thanks Mike & Mike
It's almost the end of 2024 and watching this still brings a tear to my eyes. Mike and Mike was my morning routine. And nothing has come close since they signed off.

Just a bunch of people who are bitter about like and hate everything. Mike and Mike doesn't take Fox News's point of view, so they have to hate on it. At its peak, it was a great show.
At it's peak it WAS a great show. Since 2010, the fun skits and real talk about the sports and actual games (like football Friday) began to vanish and replaced with social commentary. Colin Cowherd has replaced them as the best because he talks sports and leaves politics out of it.
Great show. I have Mike's autograph from 1992 Training Camp! With Reggie White, Randall Cunningham, Jim McMahon, Hershal Walker, etc etc Congrats Mike + Mike for such a classy & entertaining show!
They said there show was a family and truly it felt that way. So when the show ended it felt like a member of my family died. I went thru the five stages of grief. I still miss them both together to this very day

Sad to see it end, spent hours and hours on the highway going to sporting events, or on a trip with my father listening to these two on the radio. Remember Greeny's undying admiration for Chad Pennington and the Jets. Or Golic talking about getting tackled by the quarterback after his 3 picks. Provided me with a lot of good mornings. Thank you!
It is interesting that they never addressed each other. Bottom line is that if the relationship between them was still great they wouldn't be moving on.
Keith Green Greeny’s obsession with moving to New York is what killed the show. Awhile ago, the show was supposed to be moved to New York but then it was cancelled. Greeny was mad about it and then wanted to leave yet never talked with Golic. Golic was blindsided
Everyone leaving comments about FS1 are highly misinformed 😂😂 Golic is staying on ESPN with a new show with his son and Trey Wingo. Greeny is also staying at ESPN with a higher position for the network..
LeSean Walston FS1 is killing espn. Cris Carter and Nick Wright are more entertaining and informative than Mike And Mike. Undisputed is 10x better than first take. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe are great. Colon Cowherd is in a league of his own. Espn can’t put a line up together to even come close to FS1.
One of the best to do it. I doubt you'll ever see another run like Mike and Mike had. There were some many days at the water cooler where I uttered the words, "I heard on Mike and Mike this morning....". Will take sometime getting used to them not together. Even though they're moving on to bigger and better. Thanks!
Jim Gregory I met Greeny once, and he was tremendous. He could not have been nicer. You could tell Golic felt betrayed by him leaving for his own show, but in the end they both got what they wanted.
Mike Jones FS1 doesn't have the infrastructure, Fox is large but not Disney large.. Espns problems is they didnt evolve with so many people cutting cable. All TV has to make a change in the times of streaming services and cable cutting.
idc about all the backstabbing and he said she said crap, all i know is i started listening to this show a little after the time the cavs won the nba finals and i loved them. i was a 21 year old going on 22 and they captivated me with their charisma on air. i loved when they came on towards the end of my shift and they helped me love sports other than baseball (even though baseball was and is a significantly less liked sport to the both of them) i will never forget the repertoire between them. i love "golic and wingo" now and i will listen to that until it ends but nothing beats the days of MnM.
I really missed the show all the time when i was 5 6 and 7 i would always watch it before school or when im awake On ESPN2 i wished this show was back along with the 2008 graphics and logo because get up is not that good although mike greenberg is awesome and a ESPN legend
Kind of sad I've been listening and watching for all these years. One of the few Sports Talk radio shows that I could actually listen to. Going to miss them, the Golic and wingo show will be good
Wow, RU-vid is full of anti-Semitism. Disgusting. (For the record, I'm not Jewish, I just can't stand it when anyone is racist.) You can criticize the way Greeny handled the situation and you can criticize the way Golic pouted like a baby about it, but don't bring Greeny's religion or heritage into it.
