Blind people never had a chance to use an iPhone until Mike Shebanek came along. He and his team built VoiceOver, a tool that helps blind people use iPhones. Here you hear some of the struggles that Apple and Shebanek ran into developing it and you hear from several blind people who testify what a huge deal VoiceOver was for them.
The Vista Center empowers individuals who are blind or visually impaired to embrace life to the fullest through evaluation, counseling, education, and training. Learn more: vistacenter.org
It has a conference coming in December, 2022, for developers who are shaping new technologies to create a more accessible world for people who are blind. Details on that here: sighttechglobal.com
