Andrew Roachford is a great singer as is Paul Carrack. Alan Murphy's original solo is pure unwordly genius. Anto Drennan is an amazing player and IMHO on live gigs Mike should play bass and let Anto shine.

I still love Paul, but I'm really digging these younger vocalists in the band. They still offer hooks to Young and Carrack, but offer a refreshing feel to the songs. The last M+tM album Carrack sang on solo, while I enjoyed it, Rewired lacked some of the feeling. The recent outings of the reformed band has made some stellar tracks, I'd recommend checking out the previous two albums before getting into the new band re-recordings.

Coz it’s Mike Rutherford swapping over while anto takes over guitar then anto plays bass of the last 20 secs of the track tbh

Anthony drennan on guitar this whole rework of 8 songs which Mike was suppose to play 5 solos on tho decided to swap over to bass & funny enough anto drennan even added some extra bass lines the last minute of this song when u can tell it gets more bassier

I like some of the restructuring, though the guitar solo between verse 2 and 3 left something to be desired. The outro solo was better. The tone was good though, good frequency saturation. Now to the elephant in the room. The vocals did not match the rhythm of the song. If dude wants to go off, thats cool, just do it unplugged. It was all over the place. If you have a melodic hook that matches the vocal melody like it does in the chorus, while they don't have to be perfectly in sync, there needs to be some common structure. Again, all over the place. The guy has a great voice, and his part on The Living Years was great, he really took his time with it and felt the lyrics. Hope the next album does more to showcase his unique talent.

Yup Mike made Anthony drennan do all of his guitar parts & solo as the original 80s 1 was by his long lost friend Alan Murphy so Mike went back to bass on these 8 reworked tracks pretty much even anto adding extra bass parts on Idek which layers of these tracks tho u can tell by the tone & Mike never uses a pick for bass playing tho when live Mike prefers to do it on guitar mad
