M+TM return to the stage in 2025 for the “Looking Back - Living the Years” UK Tour.
Even inside Genesis, Mike Rutherford's forte has always been his melodic songwriting. With the successful side project Mike & the Mechanics, the artist managed to find a further way to express himself working with other composers and different teams. Since 1985, Mechanics became a brand in their own, releasing seven albums, selling more than 10 million records, launching many hit singles and touring worldwide with a two frontmen led band.
The sudden death of one of the original singers, Paul Young, needed a period of adjustment but, after one experimental album with Paul Carrack as the only vocalist, Rutherford changed the face to the band recruiting two new singers, Andrew Roachford and Tim Howar.
I always had a great relationship with both my mom and dad. My dad is still alive I'm happy to say, but even when he passes there will be a lot more I wish I could have said. Good parents are special. And I definitely miss my mom. She was as good as gold.
It is a version of profesy. This band was very spiritual. Pro god, if you will. This song was designed to lure you too purchase the album. The album was a sort of doom and gloom. A harbinger to the future. Most of the content of that album hinted at biblical lessons and what was to come. Now these songs are turning out to be true.
[Verse 1] Take the children and yourself And hide out in the cellar By now the fighting will be close at hand Don't believe the church and state And everything they tell you Believe in me, I'm with the high command [Chorus] Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? [Verse 2] There's a gun and ammunition Just inside the doorway Use it only in emergency Better you should pray to God The Father and the Spirit Will guide you and protect from up here [Chorus] Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? [Bridge] Swear allegiance to the flag Whatever flag they offer Never hint at what you really feel Teach the children quietly For some day sons and daughters Will rise up and fight while we stood still [Chorus] Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me, can you hear me running? Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you? Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you?) (Can you hear me) hear me calling you? (Can you hear me running) hear me running babe? (Can you hear me running) hear me running? Calling you, calling you

I sent this to my 20yr old son 2 days ago with a msg of love and humility. After more than a year and anger,he just msgd me to say "hi dad,I'm going thru some shit, but will call you soon when I've organised my head". Sooooooooo good. Thankyou. Zebedee from Oz. 👍
The great Paul Carrack was with them on this song. He sang lead for Ace "How long has this been going on?" And Squeeze "temped by the fruit of another. And had a solo hit about 1987 called don't shed a tear for me.
