tbf Babe really represents baseball pretty well. If there's a sport you can dominate while being wildly out of shape, wolfing down hotdogs and beer it's baseball.
@@ballgloveking ever use the marucci blacksmith batting gloves? Just got mine in and played with them yesterday and fell in fucking love. Using them as an inner glove genuinely makes cheap gloves feel like they're made out of nice AF leather.
This year, I would say Shohei Otani, but Mike Trout was a few years ago. I feel like it changes a lot in baseball compared to other sports. People tend to forget quickly who dominated previous years if they aren't still dominating, especially if they are injured.
I used closed back gloves growing up and l never had a problem with it other than how it looked. I switched to open when I got an a2000 jh32 in high-school. I love Wilson but that glove got too floppy. I got a pro preferred 5 years ago for college cause its durable but its still stiff and the pocket is very narrow for an outfield glove. Do you think closed back makes for a better and more secure pocket?
What I would be interested is doing a review on those Japanese Wilson staff gloves with the different Wilson logo. There’s like no information on it and you would be the best guy to make a video on it
Mike Trout is the second best player on his own team. There was a 3 year period where they had Pujols (700 HR club member), Ohtani (might be the best player of all time), and Trout, and they couldn't even get a winning record. 1/3 of their line-up was first ballot Hall of Famers and they could only win 80 games.
The AJ10, MT27, 601, and TB24 are all the same pattern just different names for different players who risen to prominence and then passed to torch on to the next sponsored guy (601 was just a place holder for the transition period between Adam Jones and Trout and the change in naming conventions overall).
@@ballgloveking Actually I gotta add some detail and correct myself there. the PROS27 is also the same model but was exclusively used on early pro preferred models in the early 2000s to early 2010s, it is also the pattern that Giancarlo Stanton favors although with an H-Web instead. The original TB24 was a slightl different Pattern that was longer, narrower, and shallower than the 601 which is the base for the PROS27, AJ10, MT27 and bares a strong resemblance to the 302 pattern when a fastback is applied.
Hello! I am a baseball player playing outfield at 12 yrs old I had thought I had broken in my glove, but when I actually play catch I notice that my glove does not close fully resulting in the ball bouncing around in the pocket. My glove is 11.75 inches. Any tips?
Use a mallet and go crazy on it! Also it may have to do with how you close your glove, try your best to close it closer to thumb to pinky if that makes sense
Bryce Harper and Aaron Judge are the faces of baseball. Aside from being 2 of the top players in MLB, the home cities have a lot to do with that. Not too many Padres or Angels games seen outside of their markets. Philly and NY and have insanely large markets.
Great video! I’m in the market for an OF glove and I was wondering what it is about the other trapeze web that you hate. I believe Mizuno calls it the “Ichiro Web”. Does it feel unstable or something like that?
Here’s an idea about breaking in a glove and it’s surprising. Play catch and this is from a catcher who is on his 2nd CM3000 and have had 3 A2000’s + two of those same models of outfield gloves. Don’t put oil or a mallet on a nice glove if you have to pay for it.
I love the passive aggressive comment lol! Oil truly isn’t good for your glove that’s why I use Sarna Baseball cause it’s a water based conditioner so it doesn’t ruin the quality but that also means it doesn’t help break the glove in, it only conditions the leather. But a mallet is a great tool and doesn’t ruin the glove whatsoever. These gloves are made to take on 115mph + line drives. I like to tell people that you should basically go ham on your glove cause you aren’t gonna mess it up. Buuuutttttt you need to hit the spots that matter not just random parts of the glove lol
I hate to say it, but OF gloves don’t matter. Just give me a big ol’ fishing net glove, and I’ll be fine. Now every position in the IF requires some investing and experimenting-it matters.
as much as he is really good with the glove, i dont like his model at all, especially his web. the closed back model is uncomfortable and makes it difficult to close the glove how i want to. the web also makes snow-cone catches impossible
I hate to say it but playing for the Angels has killed Trouts career. If he played for a top market team 3/4 of the kids would have said "Mike Trout".... Shoheis popularity will do the same unless he gets out
Trout is a beast, but with injuries and time missed it feels like the MLB hasn't even pushing him the same. Judge, Ohtani, and Soto feel like they have taken the face of baseball tag. Tatis could be included before he got hurt and the PED stuff.
@@ballgloveking I saw a video of him talking and apparently he puts three in the pinky. I just don’t understand how that can be comfortable even after getting “used to” it
ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR AND REPENT JESUS LOVES YOU HE DIED FOR YOU SO YOU COULD BE FORGIVEN ASK GOD FOR FORGIVENESS AND REPENT!🙏🙏 AMEN!!!!!!
Does his stats even matter? Great stats ZERO playoff wins that’s nuts. They have finished over .500 only three times in the last ten years. Since Mike Trout has been an Angel they have literally been one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball. It’s like being a monster in practice but no results come game time. That of course can be argued as a good analogy but……….it would be like saying Brady is the GOAT but he never made it to the super bowl. The angels are terrible.
I get what your saying but you can’t really compare baseball to other sports like that It doesn’t matter how great you are, you can’t make a team magically more talented. Sadly the angels kinda suck and have for a long time lol
You are just a mile trout fan boy and are clearly gay and have the hots for him. He’s overrated. As terrible as Manny Ramirez was at defense he’s still in the top 5 all time for war at 81
Lol you clearly watch Baseball Doesn’t Exist I’ll have to let me wife and daughter know I’m gay (they might be disappointed) And of course I’m a fan of Trout, he’s a great guy and great ball player. it’s also my job to be entertaining and I do this on any and all MLB players lol But thank you for commenting I had to give it a heart cause it made me laugh!
