@KetoFatty yeah holyfield beat tyson after a 4 year lay off with 3 years in max sec prison with the help off steroids and head butts....prime 80s tyson was a special fighter, so talented and hard working until king and givens got their greedy claws into him!.....mike tyson is easily the most exciting hw champion in queensbury rules history!!
@KetoFatty I boxed as a teen at that e QLD pcyb🤦 and age has nothing to do with prime! Frazier , Tyson and bowe peeked early…. Where as guys like Lewis aged like a fine wine! if you think a 4 year lay off doesn’t have a substantial affect on an athlete than you are the little boy that don’t know shit buddy
That's what I think when I watch where his hands are coming from to deliver that power. You can't deliver it like that without using your whole body; his punches were coming from either side of his head! Mike should be described like Ivan Drago; "the most perfectly trained athlete ever!"
@@JamesinAZ 100% also vitali klitschko would win and some more. He was great and was maybe on the absolute Maximum in terms of skill for his height. Bigger heavier also elite skilled fighters have good chances.
@@mikerobinson9030 Not even I'd say for at least the first 10 years of his career though. Especially if he wouldnt have lost that bullshit rape charge and went to prison for like 3 years...Mike would have went undefeated 56-0 instead of 50-6
Mike did it all with pure will, determination and fanatical discipline. No Apple Watch, RU-vid for information, health apps or even headphones for motivation. Just genuine boxing instinct/passion from Cus, during an era we’ll never see the likes of again.
My ribs hurt just listening to those Mike Tyson body shots. I have never seen so much speed and power in one fighter. He was the youngest and most ferocious heavyweight champion in history.
my ribs hurt too. but i didnt see him breaking any ribs. lets get real. get hit by a bear or an elephant or even a gorilla, we are talking multiple broken ribs at a minimum
Brazilian ol man born in 1958 here. I saw Tyson fight live on tv mid 80's. Still a fan. The more I see Mike talking about his life more I realize how mythical he is, he doesn't look like a real person but a superhero character. Best regards from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I notice from seeing several videos that Mike was so humble, focused, soft-spoken, determined and composed when under cus' wing. Kind of child-like at times. When he got around Don king, he was a raging bull, talking crazy to interviewers, threatening people, disrespectful, savage-like and scary. You definitely could see he changed in and out of the ring when his inspiration to be the greatest (Cus) passed away.
85-88 Mike was a wrecking machine . the new camp came in after Don King fired Rooney not Mike that fired him . his head Movement went was never the same . Mike Tyson will be remembered for a long time . Youngest Heavy Champ . thankyou for this video .
A lot of people do not realize that. The peek-a-boo style was gone the second Don King got his slimey paws on him. His next fight with Frank Bruno he was a flat footed normal heavyweight who relied on power and not offense thru deffense
I've met many people who have laughed at the people mike's destroyed but you lost ya but at least they had the balls to get in the lions den alone. I've nothing but massive love and respect for Mike Tyson he was a huge part of my childhood.
What a beast! Not many people understand the dedication it takes to be at this level 👍 after everything Mike been through he's still going strong today # stay blessed Mike
Simon its scary mike is that good he managed to use his intimidation on the majority of his opponents i have followed him through his entire career and do you member the Tyson holyfid fight when holyfield knocked him out i was convinced Tyson would in the 12th and he hit holyfiled with his famous upper cut and i thought that was it but he came out of that upper cut Tysons his favorite move is his uppercut lots devastation when he connnects your going to sleep it was realy tough for me watching Tyson get knockout i guess it comes down to who wanted it more and holyfiled came out flying in the 9th round and never looked back again it was tough to watch Tyson get knocked out i was in shock and that was the first time was knocked out and hitting the canvas as in his career, as far as the bite fight holyied is a he kept butting Tyson and he did it three times once he opened his eye and it buckled Tysons knees and Tyson told the peice of mills lane the ref and he didnt even call TO he just let them fight i cant believe lane did nothing it was a blaienet headbutt who knows if holyfield didnt butt him three times if Tyson would have had a chance Tyson was doing pretty good at that point of the fight its really to bad because i think that devastaded mike regardless if he won or lost and the second fight i wondered if it would have made difference anyway i apoligize for the long message i teend tro getg worked up when i talk about those fights,,,,,,,,,,,,,you tube admin i apoligize i just get worked up when i talk about those fight again im sorry
So many great/legendary Michaels in this era. Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, Mike Tyson. Im glad and will always treasure living in this era no one will be like them again, maybe not in the next 100yrs.
@@Marshall4424 You don't even realize how offensive your nonsense is, do you? Who could a man who was nailed to a plank of wood twenty centuries ago be said to love anybody today? Why do you think he was executed in the first place? Does Jesus love Hitler? Does he love rapists? In what sense does he love children with bone cancer? Your form of religion is an excuse for not even beginning to think, and is a profound insult for anyone who refuses to parrot a book (which I doubt you've even read) which was written by a coterie of authors who had very little (if anything) to do with each other. A belief in Jesus is no more logical than a belief in Zeus or Odin. You've been conditioned and brainwashed - that's all there is to it.
This version of Mike is every heavyweights nightmare. Only person who could beat Mike at this stage, was Mike. Frightening to watch, and scarier to be his opponent 💯
Mike's my inspiration. I grew up to drug addict abusive physically and mentally parents broken home. Suffered homelessness many times but something about sparing, about boxing is like a release an extension of me my voice.
Tyson one of the best boxers the world has ever seen Alot of people of the world's population if put the right mind and with the correct information and training of both mind and body could of been in the square ring But there were so many pecocks in the biz who were just not in it for the win but money cus never kicked the money ting to much and when he died a vipers was and had been waiting a long time for this and that snake name was d king who was the pole oppersit to cus but there you go Love Tyson 🥊🥊🤠🆗✅
Cus & Mike's Peekaboo style taught me how to use leverage and go to the body so well. We have never seen speed and power and head movement like that and probably never will again. And I got to watch this all live. I still have a slip bag hanging in my boxing gym, still to this day. And I can't believe this video didn't mention Cus and the Willie Bag.😊
He is so explosive and quick. If cus was younger so he could have been alive for a majority of his career. I don't think he ever would have lost a fight. Mike had a lot of trust in Cus and would have protected him way better than anyone else. He would have guided him to make better decisions. Robin G would not have taken advantage of Mike. And king would have never do what he did to Mike.
Imagine the head movement, technique, skills, defence, footwork, body movement for a heavyweight and then the power punches. But he was carried away by fame and wealth and was surrounded by those who don't have his best interest at heart, rather were with him for their selfish financial interest. Like Cus D'Amato rightly said. Had Mike Tyson never got distracted along the lines he would've undoubtedly become the greatest heavyweight boxing champion of all time.. Sadly, They deliberately ruined one of the best talents in the history of heavyweight boxing. Consequently, Mike Tyson wasn't able to realize his full potential. Even at that he was a beast whose accomplishment was unprecedented in the history of heavyweight boxing.. That's why for me I consider him the greatest heavyweight boxing champion of all time behind Muhammad Ali. And am glad the way Mike Tyson turned out later in life as an amazing and incredible human being. He remains my HERO and IDOL. All the best Mike. Keep punching champ.
What a great statement man.I hope one day Mike reads this & realizes how much true fans & friends love & appreciate him.May God bless & change him more in his older age & for His glory!
@@anthonydavid8193 he def does but he feels a little uncomfortable or such idk if that’s the right word but to a degree bcuz he doesnt like being reminded of his younger self he is now a pacifist who just cares about the good things in life, a class act nowadays a great human being, extremely truthful and humble may god bless him amen 🙏🏽
Once the CANCER OF BOXING Don King got his hooks into him everything went to SHIT!!!!! I always said that Don King and Robin Givens were the reasons that Mike lost to Douglas.... The first thing that Robin did after her and Mike were married was to get Mickey Rooney and anyone else that actually cared and looked out for Mike outside of the ring fired and her, her Mother and Don King kept him from having any contact with them..If you watch interviews leading up to that fight and even when Mike entered the ring he wasn't himself... It looked like he was in daze... Like he was on something.... I always said also that when it became more profitable for Don King for Mike to lose THE CANCER OF BOXING made sure that he did just that.... A focused well trained Tyson with Rooney as his trainer Buster Douglas would've been lucky to survive 4 rounds with him.. Don King never cared one bit about the sport or the fighters that he promoted and all Mike was to him and the whore that he pushed him into marrying was a huge payday....
I think Mike is the most incredible and impressive athlete of all time. At his best he was the closest we got to watching greatness when he did everything right. When people watch footage of 80's Tyson they become captivated. The footage speaks for itself. Even the training shows Mike doing things I never seen anyone do. He didn't even have to fight anyone to know he was a destroyer. I've never seen anybody with his build have so much speed combined with his power. On top of it all the most important and impressive thing about him was the elusiveness. That's what Cus focused on the most and what made Mike special. Once he fired Rooney the other coaches didn't know the system like Kevin did. Kevin wasnt afraid to yell at Mike and tell him to go to the body and fix things. Mike never respected the other guys. He felt he knew more than them and he was probably right. Mike was still a destroyer in the 90's but he ceased being the unhittable terror we saw in the 80's.
Triple hook on the heavy bag with no lagg.. farkn unreal precision speed power skill footwork.. if he had a criticism, it would be he didn't work in the clinch. I'm no expert, so take that with a grain of salt. Aside from his too early loss of cus. His coming together with the sleazy don king and givens, at his peak.. just wow. Quite a mountain to climb. Really, his story is quite legendary. An inspiration
He despised being defined as an athlete. This is mere entertainment, like putting starved pitbulls in a ring. It's nothing compared to what genius can do.
Yes his amazing power and speed was something you dont see he had opponents baffled when he did the peek a boo which you see a lot when an opponent is swinging away and cant catchj him and mike comes out of the peek a boo and floors him and to think where he came from to where he is now its a miracle he is definitely a survivor,
Lenox, Holyfield did not fight him in that period, wonder why? They waited till his spirit was broken. It’s like fighting someone who is 50 % of what he use to be!
Hey fella, Holyfield was cruiserweight in the 80s and didn't turn heavyweight until 1988 and Lewis didnt even turn pro until 1989. You should do some research as to who the Tyson camp paid step aside money to so he did NOT have to face CERTAIN fighters........The guys that think Tyson was invincible are casual novice boxing fans.......
@@travzimmerman1340 hey im not trying to hate on holyfield he was a great fighter and all but if he didnt headbutt tyson he would not have lost his damn ear
@@travzimmerman1340 You should do more research tbh. Tyson hammered Stewart, Holyfield won a decision against him and big George almost lost. Don King paid the step aside money for LL.. (politics are an irrelevant argument since its not the fighters choice). There is a reason there aren't videos about Evander nor Holyfield to this magnitude. THEY BOTH ADMITTED THEY WOULD LOOSE TO PEIME TYSON IN THIS VIDEO! Oh let's also talk about Oliver M slamming Lennox with ease (Tysons old sparring partner). You shouldn't throw out the statement "casual fan" so loosely. No one is invincible but during that 85-89 era no.. no one came close.
Exactly! Evander had to cheat with his headbutts & alleged steroids both fights & Lennox should be ashamed of himself, fighting Mike at that stage in his career.Lennox fought scared, holding & leaning on him.Even his trainer Steward was mixed up.One min telling,"Be careful,he might catch you with some s*%&!" & later on "Go to him & bang em'!"Smh.Lennox eventually caught him with too many rights, yet still had to push him down.Point is neither one of those guys beat the real prime focused Mike Tyson,& btw neither did Douglas.
He’s was so incredibly special. I haven’t seen anything to this day close to how perfect Mike was. It’s the whole package too his attitude, mentality , body frame, ferociousness, confidence, explosive, footwork, the twisting and transferring energy tor power , the dedication
Was awesome finishing up with that 90 degree slip and left hand follow up knockdown. When I first saw that I had to rewind and watch it a few times. That was epic! 👍✊🥇
i watched a video and he said i cant be beat i like tough guys theyre not tough when you confront tghem they are not tough bring them to me i will deliv er the pain imagine him saying that to you i'd run for hills, just imagine him without his gloves and he hit you omg you would be junk,
So excellent... skills,..speed like welterweight.. devastating power in both hands..move upper lower body + head movement...amazing speed!!.. He was a super phenomenan heavyweight fighter.. that no one in today's or in future era can never be like him..!!
I Iwas born on 1984, still a kid and never had the chance to see this great fighter but thank you for this amazing awesome videos and truly The IRON about MIKE Tyson was real, amazing to watch.👍💪👍💪🤜🤜MIKE Tyson 🐐🐐🐐
Had he stayed with the ones who cared and loved him and stayed away from Con king nobody was beaten this version of Tyson.say all you want but this was the most disciplined well trained boxer and he wasn't going to be beaten by anyone.all those other guys people love so much didn't and wouldn't have beaten this Tyson,no way
Man it was sooooo much more for Mike to learn from Cus-just about life in general that he could have learned. Set aside from boxing I'd have loved to just sit and talk with Cus myself...just to hear him drop gems on me-id let my ears not only hear-but feel also. R.I.P. Cus- great man-incredible legacy. 🫡
One of the "greatest humans ever"??? What inconceivable horseshit. He isn't even REMOTELY one of the greatest THAT WE KNOW OF, let alone the billions you'll never have any knowledge of. Jesus wept. Maybe read some of the great writers and thinkers and painters and poets, even politicians, before you celebrate a convicted rapist who bites people's ears off and smokes psychedelic toad venom. I bet you're yet another of those thousands of RU-vid commentators who doesn't know how to leave a message without using the phrase "ever" as if it magically lends some strength to an opinion borne of absolute ignorance.
He was so fun to watch. The other boxers were always so terrified, they'd start trying to keep him at arm's length and he'd just duck and move in and it's lights out!
Cus predicted some very real outcomes. Tyson in my opinion is the greatest of all time . Ali was the first like and so is held by most as the greatest like Einstein is considered the greatest brain. When your the first to discover or do the (at the time) the unknown or unseen you are always remembered as the greatest and everyone after is considered a replica of what someone did great before and so the first are remembered romantically in our hearts as the best. Tyson in my opinion was /is the greatest .
Srbija
Those training sessions with Rooney where Mike is charging at him while bobbing and weaving, is just an intimidating site! Gah dam it never gets old watching that
My RESPECT!!! Myself having a Combat sports "career" of nearly 19 years, starting with boxing at a age about 8-9 years after watching my neighbor hitting the heavy bag in his garden as he was a semi professional boxer before. So he asked if I wanna try to hit the bag and I said "of course", so I hitted and he was impressed, saying I should box, which I did only for a short time as I chose Shotokan Karate (about 5 years) first, but I but wasn't satisfied cuz it's only semi-contact, making me to start the Kyo ku Shinkai style Karate for about 2 years, which is Full-contact, after I did Thai-boxing for about 3-4 years, making 4 MMA fights (won all 3 KO's 1 submission) under the name of Free fighting (that's how it was called back then as there wasn't any UFC and others like Pride FC etc.)!!! Nice work!
Visto che sono il primo Italiano a commentare, oppure se ce ne sono altri si vergognano a scrivere nella loro lingua, dico che Mike Tyson secondo me è il pugile più forte di tutti i tempi, imbattibile insieme a Cus e Rooney.
Extremely good fighter! Only lost a little bit! Very very strong! So powerful! Extremely dedicated! Very ver6 muscley! You're a really great person Mike! I absolutely love watching all your videos!
Even his videos are scary no human being can do what he has done again he is not human i have always said he is clearly on another level above your human being
I'm not talking about the greatest champion of all time, but anyone who tries to say that Prime Mike Tyson wasn't the best heavyweight fighter of all time doesn't know enough about boxing to understand what a phenom he was. Ali and Forman said the same.
He wasn’t a south paw but his left has knocked out as many if not more than his Right! 👊💥How can ya not love his style Cus taught em 🧡Peek A Boo👊💥👊I Hit You 💥👊💫
He is left handed. Cuz trained him orthodox because peek-a-boo is optimal with a lead left hand. Look up the Willie Bag concept for the punch numbering system he was taught by Cus/Atlas/Rooney. He switch stepped to an open or southpaw stance very often to confuse opponents and generate angles of attack. Elite foot and hand speed, quickness, power from the floor up and delivered with a mechanical whip technique combined with the most polished shoulder and hip snap you will see in your lifetime, powerful legs from ankle to pelvis, a strong and flexible core conditioned to take blows, weave, slip, duck and explode all in the same breath, effortless level changes that have given me chills studying film, precise and mesmerizing head movement reminiscent of a cobra primed to strike, both hands had wrecking balls in gloves capable of near relativistic speeds, a strong and flexible neck and shoulders built to withstand heavyweight blows, the most blinding and precise counter punching I've ever seen all wrapped into the mindset of a scared and angry teenager molded by a master mentor, motivator, trainer and loving adoptive father into a vicious conquerer who couldn't conceive of being defeated by mere mortals. Mike Gerard Tyson summarized but not defined.
he was very explosive for a boxer that’s what made his style so successful every punch he threw whether it had something “on it” or not it looked like he was tryna break something
Ain't no fighter beating D'Amato's Tyson. He moved completely different in the mid 80's compared to when Holyfield and especially Lewis fought him. I don't see anyone stopping a focused 86's Tyson enroute to the title. He was best in 86' imo.
@@eddieroadrunner6691 Tyson was in his prime in the 80s Lewis vs Tyson was in 2002 16 years from when Tyson won the title *he was old in terms of training age way past his prime even though young in age* I think it would of been a different outcome if they fought in 86 but we will never know just my opinion 🤷🏻
@@brumylee People have that Lewis thing backwards. Cus said Mike was too much for Lennox. He's on video talking about it, bringing in the olympic medalist(which was Lennox) and Mike was too much. First time they sparred he knocked Lewis out of the ring. Lewis has said he was terrified of Mike when he first saw him
The various influences of Cuz, Jimmy Jacobs, Teddy Atlas and Kevin Rooney found coal, compressed it into a diamond, cut it into a unique shape with razor edges, polished it to dazzling brilliance that allowed it's inner fire to shine with the light of a thousand suns and set Kid Dynamite loose to wreak havoc on the heavyweight division.
Mike Tyson was phenomenal everyone talks about his power n Killer instinct in the ring most forget about his head movement and footwork the way he used the shift was a great form of defense whilst also using it to destroy his opponents.. just imagine if cus had lived a little longer I believe he would of finished his career undefeated.
I have always said this and nobody will ever convince me otherwise: Tyson is without question the greatest heavyweight and he would have put Ali on the mat. Period.
When he hits the heavy bag it sounds like a gunshot going off. I'm still of the opinion that there hasn't been a boxer in history that could beat a young Mike Tyson. Not Ali,. not Rocky Marciano.....nobody. I'm a big fan of Tyson Fury. But lets be honest, when you watch young Mike Tyson box and you watch Tyson Fury box, it's ridiculous how obvious the difference is in terms of power, and speed and ferocity.
Mike Tyson the whole heavy weight package,,a hard puncher like George foreman,, light on his feet like Mohammed Ali and with Ali's stamina,, this man was quick and in your face before the big men could resist,,,, game over lights out!!!
on rare occations the stars aline and we get to observe magic , this is the case for cus and mike , i`m happy to have been witnessing it . 85-87 is imo the ultimate HW boxer , ever .
Watching Mike hit the HB @1:41 with shots that would drop any man makes me smile because today Mike Tyson is a sweetheart of a man who has come full circle, all by himself. Bravo to the greatest fighter of all time.imo.
from 6:10 - 6:22. He foresaid that Mike will become the youngest Heavy Weight Champion. He was right. He also said he could become the greatest heavy weight champion if there wasn't the lack of dedication and distraction. Cuz really knew how life works. I wish I knew him personally.
He seen many young potentials get distracted and never become what they could of. He was a wise man. I believe he was right when he said he would have gone down as the best heavyweight champion if he didn’t get distracted. We all know what happened. Could you imagine having all that money and fame ,coming from nothing and being only 20? It’s reasonable to say the vast majority would have got distracted. Like him or not but Mayweather is the only one to not screw up from partying etc….
@@wasntme3651 I think that they were luring Mike into that sweet life of women, buying stuff he doesn't need, giving away money and so on... Btw Mike got robbed, that's something he couldn't see coming because he trusted Don King too much. We all know the story.
