Mike went easy on Pete because he made him laugh after getting out of prison watch the press conference. Look at the beatings he went after on Holmes, spinks or green. He was trying to hurt them bad all the way til they hit the deck. You can tell Mike liked Peter he didn’t try and maul him. He knew Peter was just trying to hype the fight. He had fun lol And when pete ran headfirst I think he respected him unlike most people he fought running the whole time
This is possibly the best physique Mike ever had. Came fresh out of jail built like he came from Mount Olympus. Not even just his physique. The look on his face. He wasn't on bully/intimidation mode here. He was razor sharp and focused. No talking, nothing. Even the shape/line up was perfect lol. Everything about Mike was perfect here.
Those were beach muscles, there's a reason in his prime he wasn't as pumped and why boxers don't look like bodybuilders. Mentally he was better in his prime too.
Mike was in absolute peak shape in this fight. Fresh out if jail and just jacked up from doing nothing but working out day after day. He turned that guy's lights out like right now.
Man, all the bs aside, all props goes the Irish man. Not a person on planet earth was asking to fight mike Tyson at that time. He put his nuts on the table and played the game. That said stupid games will always award stupid prizes.
