It was actually great seeing these 2 old legends in the ring together. Their speed and fitness was extraordinary for their age, Roy Jones was known for his cat like reflexes back in the day, but Tyson totally had his number here. Whats remarkable is that there was no malice between them even though they threw some pretty mean punches. It was clear there was no intent on throwing killer head shots from either man, but it didn’t take anything away, it was good fun to watch and compare their styles.
@@cunecao Not at all.. Mike said sometimes he did punch harder than he was supposed to. But both roy and mike have said in podcasts/interviews that they couldnt hurt each other. You can see it clearly Mike was holding back.
That definitely wasn't a draw. they had to end it so Roy wouldn't get seriously injured. Tyson, was faster, stronger, better by a long shot. But since it was an exhibition match they said it was a draw.
Nobody does peak a boo anymore it's a finished style it seems. You must have a strong back to do it with any longevity though. Both Patterson and Tyson had back issues later in their careers.
if one of Mike's light punches hit you liek that your tiny little ribs are going to crack......those werent light punches dude...! Miek just didnt go for the head.
I think it was sort of 80% real, it was good RJJ was very elusive and he needed to be while Mike was still agile enough to get at him, really enjoyed watching the two legends going round again and showcasing their skills.
@@YitroBenAvraham the match was set up as an exhibition match (= sparring). both held back which is clearly to see. Tyson not even throwing an uppercut, which you usually don't do in sparring. At least not hard ones...
@@jenaratefilms7519 Jake doesnt even know what deep water is. Against guys his own size he couldnt knock the skin off a rice pudding. He barely even knocked the sweat of Tommy Fury's brow.. and Tommy has only had six fights himself. Tyson is literally made of granite, he is nothing but muscle and hes taken the best shots from the some of the hardest hitting fighters who ever lived. He destroyed Larry Holmes, handled Bonecrusher Smith, look at how many shots it took for Lennox Lewis to put him down, and Lewis is a monster. I cant see it even getting to the third round.
@@newagain9964 - LMAO. Even a faded, shell of himself Tyson would have wrecked Jones around that time. Jones is one of my all time favorites, and arguably the best ever pound for pound (he’s at least in the discussion), but he was never a true heavyweight. When he bulked up to 193 pounds to beat Ruiz, he was a cruiserweight. Ruiz was a light punching, mediocre heavyweight whose claim to fame was fighting an elderly, way past his prime Holyfield. Jones never wanted Tyson, Lewis, or the Klitschko brothers….it’s why he promptly left the division. Tyson and Lewis both wanted to fight him but he declined.
@@marcbrunengraber3507 tbf. RJJ has no business boxing Lewis or klitchsos. Heavyweight is the most varied (and dangerous) class of them all. But he could and would have beat Tyson. He’ll win on pts cause he’s not getting KO’d. To smart and fast for Tyson.
Honestly, Mike Tyson did way better. It should not be draw but you gonna compliment them for sure . amazing skills and power for 52 years old. Can’t wait to see him smacking Jake balls .😂 by the way this game was in the fake time corona the most the biggest lie that government Bassett on people
I'm gone say it again Mike was holding back Mike gone take Jake Paul head off Mike had lots of power and energy he was holding back on Roy this man still got it
This shows the professional level of both men! Tyson was holding back in my opinion! No KO clause , to watch the head shots …😊Mike focuses on the body game here. 😊
This will be the paul fight right here. Lots of talk and videos to hype the fight and then they will get their checks and slap each other a few times and walk away laughing.
This was a sparing match. The fact that they had two belts to give each Mike and Roy says it all. There was never meant to be a single winner of this match.
This is the kind of fight I’m happy to see Mike involved in, not Jake Paul bs… Saudis could set up a League of Legends with rules to protect the veteran fighters but not limit it so much that it becomes a light touching exchange.
Nice fight, if I remember correctly Roy even admitted that Mike was holding back some and he said if Mike had went 100% he would have knocked Roy out. I just hope that Mike goes 100% against Paul so he doesn't get a lucky knockout against Mike.
lol all these casuals not even mentioning Roy jones jr, an absolute legendary icon who's name is written in history as one of the best boxers ever lived.
Tyson looks like he has some kind of cyst or lump on his back. This fight is actually in the top 10 highest grossing PPVs ever! Probably influenced Paul's decision to make a fight with him
I would’ve loved to see this fight happen back around 2001 after Roy Jones, defeated, Derek Harmon, or even after he fought John Ruiz, and won the WBA heavyweight title. The funny thing is that both of their fighting styles remained the same, they just got a little slower and less athletic. But it definitely would’ve been a huge fight when it was a topic back then. Roy Jones always said that he would fight Mike Tyson, but for some reason or another, it never happened.
