It's like blowing the candles on other person's birthday, doesn't matter if it's a little thing, like, it's symbolic, JUST DON'T DO IT

I apologize to my older brother for thinking candle blowing was a game to prevent the wax from getting on the cake, and ruining his 5th birthday party cake candle blowing. I also apologize for assuming going to the bathroom during your birthday party made you a "party pooper" Honestly child me was unhinged with his logic

That girl has to realize she has to live with that family for the rest of her life. Imagine when they have a kid. None of her rules would ever be respected. She is not being respected as a person right now. Her dress is a symbolic thing. This is some emotional fuckery at its finest. This guy isn't a winner.

@BhappyD
@BhappyD 3 года назад
Exactly. And it’d be one thing if the guy actually stuck up for his fiancée and had nothing to do with his mother and sister trying her dress on, as then they could just cut his family off, but he freaking PARTICIPATED and DELIVERED her dress to them knowing full well their intentions, and saw NOTHING wrong with it! Not only is she not respected by the MIL and SIL, but her own soon-to-be husband disrespected her in such a horrible way that you just can’t forgive and forget. What he did is a symptom of a WAY bigger problem that will only get worse with time. That guy will never choose his wife over his mother and sister if they get married, and adding kids will make it an even bigger nightmare. This isn’t the kind of guy you want to grow old with. Absolutely disgusting behavior!
@niccir2885
@niccir2885 3 года назад
It's not about the dress at all. You have to look past the dress and focus on the behavior and relationships. Use this as a way to see what the rest of the marriage would be like. What it would be like when you have children. What holidays will be like. The fiance, his mother, and sister have shown how things will go. Believe me when I say, it will get worse.

Nah I would cancel the whole relationship either way even if fiance puts mother and sister in their place cause he doesn't know his place either. My husband and I once visited my parents, and some of my husband‘s laundry got mixed up with my younger brothers. They have similar sizes so we didn’t notice. A few days later I visit my mother and see that she is worn my husbands shirt thinking that it is her sons (she uses his old Ts every now and then) I point this out to her, and I tell her that it’s fine to just wash it next time she can and put it aside for us. My mom was petrified, she said that she was terribly sorry and that she would take it off immediately. To her, it felt wrong to wear her son-in-law‘s shirt. Because it’s her daughters husband. She just thought that it was disrespectful and kind of weird So to think that her mother would wear her daughter-in-law‘s wedding dress, the scope of that grossness is off the charts

It's the disrespect for me, the relationship was over the minute he went behind her back to bring the dress to his mommy. Then allowed his mommy and sister to wear it. No it's all over, they crossed a boundary that he should have NEVER allowed to be crossed to the point where its so disrespectful and inconsiderate. If he is STILL listing and obeying everything mommy says as a GROWN MAN, he will always be listening to mommy. I don't know who needs to hear this but when a mother-in-law over steps your boundaries and she doesn't get checked by her son, be prepared to always get shoved to the side because he will ALWAYS put his mom first.

The disrespect in all of this came from the husband first for not even asking to take HIS WIFE'S dress , more so knowing damn well she didn't want to tale the dress to her MIL. Then he managed to agree to let his mom and his sister try on the dress as it was nothing... Just the thought of seeing them in his wife's wedding dress should have made his sick... But then he went even further and put the dress under the things he bought... I can't imagine how all of them thought this is a good idea... I can't imagine what was in those women's mind when they tried on the dress... It makes me sick

I would go to jail over someone messing with my wedding dress. Could it also be possible that the fiancé had another motive and knew this could cause a huge fight and potentially split the relationship?

RUN girl RUN! I had an awful MIL and the marriage didn’t work out. 99% of my ex and it’s fights were about her over stepping boundaries and playing the victim. And he didn’t stand up for me. Byeeee!

screw postponing the wedding, i would be cancelling that wedding a freaking heartbeat. The guy needs to grow some balls and open his eyes, because i am praying he is very single after this incident and not standing up for his fiancee. He A should have just told the mom and sister they will see it when his fiancee she shows them. The mother didnt even have the right to ask him to bring that dress anywhere except where the fiancee tells you

I got mad when my mom and little sister looked at my wedding dress without asking me etc when I wasn't home and didn't tell me until like months later. But that is nothing compared to what happened in this story. As far as I know they did not try it on or ruin my dress. They only took it out and looked at it. I still got upset. Because they did not ask and I wasn't there etc. Wow. Poor OP.

When I first dated my bf he told me that him and his sister were close because They went through a lot of traumatizing things during their child hood. I understood and tried my best to get along with her. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 9 months going on 10 and she’s said the most out of pocket things. First thing she called me by his ex’s name :/. Second thing was when she said in front of a group of people “when me and Phillip(which is my bf) go out in public people think we’re dating.” I was astonished by this. His sister in law who has my back and trust while heartedly said “ well if they think that maybe you shouldn’t be doing the things you’re doing” since then myself and my boyfriend have had countless arguments about it and when I talked to the sister about it she said and I quote “ I think I just get jealous that he has out with you more than me” . We have pushed ourselves from his sister because he finally opened his eyes. I forgot to mention that she’s getting married in November. Her fiancé was there the entire time everything happened including what she said out loud.

The dress is the tip of the iceberg. As someone who had a mother-in-law and sister-in-law who did not respect me whatsoever, you will be dealing with this for the rest of your life. My in-laws didn’t like the name that I chose for my daughter. And yes my husband was very much involved and agreed. They did not like the nursery theme that I had chosen. They lectured me because I was feeding her tofu instead of chicken nuggets, and it’s because she liked the tofu. She likes Pho.And they said I was depriving her of a normal childhood existence. They literally have been making every single possible thing hell for years. When I had family holidays with them, I had to eat what they eat as a family. We were married and I was not invited to bring in my own family traditions. These women are going to find way after way after way to diminish her, and to be openly disrespectful and sabotage something that’s important to her and then play dumb. And that’s not even talking about triangulating any children they might have, spoiling them and going against her well in the future to find favor not only with baby boy but all the grandkids. And her husband is going to let it happen. If he already does not honor her, she better buckle up. This sounds like communions narcissism or gaslight by tribe.

I did not let my future mother-in-law at my wedding dress appointment. My dress is also staying at my parents house so NO ONE will be able to see it or put it on. My fiancé would never let his mother anywhere near my dress. He knows I don’t trust her and he respects that.

I have a feeling that they purposely ruined the dress because they were upset that they weren’t included in the decision.

My sister got mad when she forgot she gave me a pair of socks and saw me wearing them. That's my blood sister, we share both parents, over socks. She accidently put them in a bin of socks she didn't want anymore and when she asked me if they were hers I told her and she vehemently denied it.

I would be livid at my fiancé for taking it to them! I’m currently engaged and my fiancé knows he’s not allowed to see it, let alone take it somewhere. Putting groceries on top of it… seriously!!! That’s just insult to injury! I don’t even have words for how angry I would be
