1:25 Vivek, you got that wrong. The homogenization process only changes the texture and the way the milk behaves after boiling (ie, cream doesn't separate). It is not responsible for the shelf life. The long shelf life comes from the UHT process, which all tetrapack milk are subject to. While most milk goes through a standard pasteurization process., UHT (ultra-high temperature) milk goes through ultra-pasteurization, which safely heats the milk to a higher-than-usual temperature. This, like regular pasteurization, kills bacteria in the milk that may be harmful or cause the milk to spoil, producing milk with a longer life. It’s then packaged in sterilized containers, also known as aseptic packaging, which helps keep the milk fresher longer. Even the 'fresh' daily delivered milk is 'pasteurized' 'toned'. Pasteurization involves heating of the milk. So, is most definitely processed quite a bit. Toned milk is a method, developed in India, of treating buffalo milk by adding skim milk, powdered skim milk and water to buffalo milk. This process decreases the fat content, increases the quantity of available milk, and 'tones up' the non-fat solids level to the original amount.

@@SwetankTelang If you consider less fat milk is healthy, then you can go for milk named " skimmed or slim " milk you find in the shelves of super market. If you think processed milk or milk products are unhealthy , you should go for raw milk from milkmen. I think if you eat ice-cream without any worries which is ultra processed , you should not worry about milk being processed which is 10x less processed than ice cream. People drink slim milk or skimmed milk or lactose free milk because they are fitness or calorie conscious or lactose intolerant or diabetic. They don't want fat or sugar content in their milk. They just want to feel the taste of milk and it is healthy for them. And does not cause them any harm. Regarding homogeneised milk , large fat globules are broken into smaller fat globules. So the fat content is distributed evenly. In the case of raw milk which has fat ranging from small to large fat globules. According to the video guy, small fat molecules are not digested and are stuck in the blood vessels and cause plaque and eventually lead to heart attack. In that case raw milk also has small fat molecules. So we cannot claim raw milk causes heart attack. Correlation does not mean causation. All the things said by him are correlation not causation. People eat all sorts of junk foods, high ghee laden and sugar laden sweets and ice cream , but don't worry about any health effects. But people make a huge fuss about packaged milk and milk powder being unhealthy. It is a universal fact that ghee is saturated fat and saturated fats are a risk factor for heart disease. Doctors advise us not to use excess butter or dalda or ghee added foods like puffs etc. Because they contain high saturated fat. But this guy promotes ghee. Homogeneised milk has a 6 month shelf life because it is highly sterilized at ultra high temperature just like surgical instruments are done before performing surgery, leaving near zero germs. That's why it has a long shelf life. Old milk which doesn't spoil for 6 months doesn't mean preservatives are added and it is just that the natural process is stopped for a limited period by artificial methods. Milk is a super food which provides most nutrients and vitamins and minerals in a wholesome package at affordable price for people below the poverty line who cannot afford fruits or vegetables regularly. If you still think packaged milk (all packaged milk products are homogeneised and you won't find non homogeneised milk anywhere)is not healthy and harmful , you can switch to other sources of calcium and vitamins like fruits and veggies or even better calcium vitamin supplements from the pharmacy cause the pharmacy is there to improve our health not deteriorate ( intended as a joke).

@@kamalc0107 very well explained. Though, I just say that ghee (pure not refined like dalda) is good for health. My cousin who was very obese cooks everything in pure ghee, also adds teaspoon of ghee on the top of cooked rice. She has lost very good weight, she also does dieting but she cooks in ghee, barely oil.

@@SwetankTelang Kamal is wrong in saying all milk is homogenized. Avoid milk that has the word 'homogenized' on it. All milk is pasteurized, except direct from cow, buffalo, or goat. Pasteurization cannot be avoided by and large, but is not harmful as homogenized. Hope this helps.

yes . tamilnadu native breed kangeyam gives only 8liters per day and 3 to 4 lit is enough for calf . if we leave the milk in the udder without taking it may cause infection and disease to mother cow and may spread to calf by drinking diseased milk. it is necessery to take out the extra milk after calf drunk.

The point is if the cows were born by mating with native stud bulls by native cows or or by artificial insemens - as they do in Veterinary practice, to boost milk yields. This A2 protein milk is being discussed only in recent decades (after Ndtv article etc). Earlier the white revolution was all about increasing milk yield two fold by cross breeding which is still in practice for commercial advantage.

@@navneetkaur8572 आपकी बातें कुछ मायनों में सही ज़रूर है कि कोई भी काम हम आर्थिक नफा नुकसान देखकर ही करते है चाहे वह कृषि ही क्यों न हो। आधुनिक तकनीक ने पशुओं को श्रम से रोका मगर मांस व दूध खाने की परंपरा ने उनको स्लॉटर हाउस जाने से न रोक सकी क्योंकि भला आर्थिक लाभ न दे सकने वाले जानवरों को कौन पाले रखे? इस क्षेत्र में राज्य सरकारों को व्यापक नीति बनानी चाहिए ताकि यह किसानों के लिए फायदेमंद साबित हो सके जैसे प्राकृतिक खाद को फिर से खेतों ने डालने को प्रेरित करना, जैविक खेती को बढ़ावा देना,....। रही बात मेरे योगदान की, मै जितना संभव हो पाता है जानवरों से बने उत्पादों से दूर ही रहता ही चाहे वह दूध हो या चमड़े से बना कोई उत्पाद। गर्मियों के मौसम में मै छत पर दाने व पानी रखता हूं व घर के बाहर टब में भरकर भी। सुबह व शाम रोटी खिलाना तो आदत ही बन गई है साथ ही सब्जियों व फलों के छिलके भी। कुछ ऐसे ही छोटे प्रयास करता रहता हूं साथ ही दूसरों को भी प्रेरित करता है। एक अध्यापक के रूप में यह चीज बच्चों तक भी पहुंचाता हूं जिसके सकारात्मक परिणाम भी सामने आते है।

Sid Farm offer COW MILK- A1+A2[crossbreed between desi cow+jersey cow], BUFFALO MILK- complete desi milk[Murrah buffalo]. Both are full cream. Skim milk is no cream and no fat milk,[0.001% fat]. Is it suggestable to prefer?

Brother please recheck about homogenisation. It only breaks bigger fat globules to smalls which is good for consumer as texture is improved. But the self life is still vulnerable without maintaining cold chain. No chemical changes happen during homogenisation. Pasturisation and maintaining cold chain at 4 degree celcius improves self life for 3 days more. But how milk companies are storing few milk packets for 6 month is still a mystery for me.
