In this video, we are going to fully inspect Millennial Farmer's John Deere 1770NT ExactEmerge planter. We will go through the row unit itself and go over all the wear parts and adjustments. We will take a look at the seed delivery system and the hydraulic downforce system as well. We will also show some great parts from Sloan Express that you can use on your John Deere planter!

Thanks for a great video on these planters. Found it extremely interesting. ZK and Caleb, many thanks for this great video on servicing the high speed planter. Caleb you did excellent in detailing the items to check and the procedures to do so. Wow, a lot to check and of course, 24 to do. I am retired from farming but have been around the new planters out of interest in how they work. Find this new technology so interesting. More and more for the equipment owner to do and know how to do it. I found today’s video extremely interesting in teaching me or anyone how these systems work and servicing them. I found this to be thee best instructor type video on these planters I have seen. Feel I jumped from basic knowledge to a higher level of knowledge where I can service the planter. Zach, many thanks for having ZK and Caleb go over your planter and film the process. Looking forward to the part 3 video. You all take care and be safe. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

It is interesting in that the basic design of the Max Emerge row unit is unchanged over its almost 50 year history. Yes, the components have been updated but the opener/gauge wheel interface is still the same. I know the meters have went through evolution in those years. What I find interesting today is the various designs of the gauge wheels and closing wheels that are being used. That open spoke design on the gauge wheel was discouraged in the past because it "threw" extra soil on top of the seed. P.S. I worked for Deere and was involved with a number of the design changes on that unit during my 36 years. Very good video!
@lynwessel2471
@lynwessel2471 2 года назад
The 'Mudsmith' spoked guage wheels were designed for black sticky northern soils to reduce packing mud between the wheels when plantings thru less than fit areas. When it gets to be early June in a wet spring up here its plant now or never. Been there done that.

Thanks to your excellent exposition I understand a high speed planter! Now I just need to get one... A tractor and some land and a rich uncle would be useful too... Lol But seriously, as a mechanic and operator, you made a very understandable and detailed instructional video, with the right shots to allow a normal person to be able to see and understand the operation of the planters.

Does Midwest Machinery Co., the closest Deere Dealer to Zach, not have the personnel with the necessary knowledge and experience to set up and check over the planter? I don't understand why 2 people based at Sloan Equipment's Atwood, IL store need to travel a minimum of 10 hours one way, in order to perform this service. Granted it makes for good video content and collaboration between video creators. It's also nice to know that my closest Sloan location has such personnel when needed, and we've needed them before.
