I had a cruddy Black Oak log, so I milled some stickers and blocks to air-dry lumber with.

Great video, I really enjoyed how it was put together! As far as the cruddy black oak, I thought it looked beautiful on the inside but I guess anything other than lodgepole pine catches my eye since that is really all that I can get for my sawmill in Colorado.

I was happily surprised to see the heart was still good and there weren't many punky spots. Out here in VA we've got hardwoods for days. I'm surrounded by Black Oak.

How long will you dry this?

I hope you don’t mind me answering, but it’s about one year of drying time per 1” thickness. This does depend on where he lives, due to humidity, but it’s a good guide. So my guess is between 1-2 years (he seems to have 1” and 2” thick boards).

Wm. Walker Co. for the record, that just sends me to an sign up page that says I have to pay $17/mo for commercial use music. I’m guessing that must be where you got it, which is great, but if you have any links to a RU-vid video of it - that’s more what I’m looking for.
