It was discovered that she allowed him to use her company credit card to buy shoes on her discount (double whammy). But instead of being fired like they do other employees they simply claimed they “didn’t know” and forced her to resign, which allows her to keep her stocks, severance package, insurance (for a short time), and leaves the door open for her to rejoin the company in the future (although unlikely). Meanwhile if a store associate sells 1 pair of shoes on Facebook they get fired immediately and all benefits are cancelled. They’re also blacklisted from rehires. I’m willing to bet someone in the monitoring department was being paid to turn a blind eye, which would make these actions illegal.
