I remember him also making the observation that the PC also still moves and fights when you aren't controlling him and he doesn't know what "mindjacking" is when it's brought up in conversation, leading Yahtzee to theorize that maybe the PC is also mindjacked, and the player is some unknown actor controlling everything, but that's never explored. That would be cool as a late-game twist, too.

I wasn't even playing games at the time (other than NOVA and Modern Combat on my iPod Touch) but this game disappointed me lol. My most recent disappointment was BF 2042, so I feel your pain to some extent.

There was no "single player or co-op", it was controlled by a module you "installed" that either allowed multiplayer or not and the joining player(s) could choose whether to be adversarial or cooperative. You could get games for years after release during prime time playing hours in the US on 360 and play against/with people in their campaigns. The issue was that if you just stomped them over and over(the part of the level restarts if the enemy wins) and the player can't progress, they would quit their game(and probably never play again). Sometimes they would figure out the hieroglyphs representing modules and turn on the one that prevented invasion but then they would never turn it back off. As the invader, you could switch sides at every section change of the game and you had to play a fine line between helping and hindering so it didn't get too repetitive for them. I really liked this part of Mindjack quite a bit.

Uh yeah, if the protag of this game was George Floyd expy and health pickups were kfc wings and watermelons, sure it'll be less bad (no, it wouldn't.) The problem of this game wasn't that the protagonist was white, it's gameplay was dogshit.

He's only there to virtue signal/ pander to the white male majority in the gaming community. There are legit dozens upon dozens if not hundreds of these kinds of protagonists from the past 20+ years of gaming.

Inversion certainly falls in this category, but I still feel that game doesn't get enough recognition. Lol

Cause one of the other main gimmicks of the game is that players could invade your game at any point or something and take over the enemies you were fighting But the game's been dead since a week after it released probably so no PvP here
