Blossoming Defense might be better combo protection than some of the other sideboard options since it can also do a mini combo by pumping your creatures.

playing ignoble hierarch instead of the birds sounds like could work a bit better. Mana is good enough already so those extra exalted might be a bit better

I've always been super intimidated by Modern, but I could actually see myself running this deck. It seems effective, fun, and the right amount of out of the box

I haven't loved an AtO deck as much as this in a long time

We’re probably too heavy on Anchor to Reality with relatively weak payoffs. Those should probably be a 2-of. We should probably also be playing something besides Mindlink Mech that can combo with our power-matters three-drops. Blossoming Defense has both defensive and offensive applications. Rancor is solid, as is Eater of Virtue. Although piling onto one creature is risky, Gemrazer is solid against Lightning Bolt decks, producing a scary 4/4 trampler with sneaky reach even if the target gets Bolted in response. If we were in white, Maul of the Skyclaves might be terrifying, plus the deck would gain access to Stoneforge Mystic to supplement the Anchor plan.

Seems almost like you want some ignobles in there too. Exalted seems super good with these creatures.

Honestly it wouldn't be surprising if this became an actual deck, mindlink mech seems kinda nuts as a combo piece.

Amazing deck! Improving ideas: - drop the Kaldra plan (drawing it is a disaster) - more early discard for protection (Inquisition of Kozilek) - substitute Birds of Paradise for Ignoble Hierarchs, since the Exalted triggers matter a lot on the payoff creatures, especially without Mindlink Mech on the battlefield. not a punt, just a minor misplay: at 24:53 you should be crewing with dreamstalker rather than cephalid constable, as they only have one permanent to bounce, but 7 cards in hand to discard. Didn't matter since they scooped, but something to remember in future.

Cephalid Constable being cast for probably the first time in Modern's history and hardlocking players + Natural Ordering for Elbrus the Binding Blade on BOP are both incredible moments

I'm so happy we get a lot of Modern from Seth at the Moment! Kamigawa Neon Dynasty definitely has a lot of Jank Potential compared to the last few Sets Hope this won't be the last one! Also to those intimidated by Modern, either for Price or Gameplay: I play Modern Leagues on MTGO using either free or almost free Decks mostly because i don't want to play what everyone else is playing, so established Tier 1 Decks are played rarely by me but instead i play "Against the Odds" Style Decks with odd Combos, Budget Decks or often even just Decks that used to be Tier 1 in Extended Format but updated to Modern or even just old Modern Deck. You'd be surprised how often i at least go 3-2 in Modern Leagues with these and 4-1 isn't rare either. Hell, Seth went 5-0 with Decks in Modern that were insanely Against the Odds, but also often went 5-0 with Budget Decks. So definitely don't be intimidated by Modern. I have been working on this idea recently and have the exact same core except for Dreamstealer. I like the black splash, but my version is UG and I have had some fun with green pump spells like Rancor, Blossoming Defense, Scale Up, and Vines of Vastwood. I haven't really settled on an exact list but I have also considered Larger than life for +4/+4 and trample.

I did a little happy dance when I saw that you included Cold-Eye Selkie. I love that weird little merfolk. Also, I feel like there are a LOT of creatures that are secretly good in Modern that people more-or-less ignore because they don't fit cleanly into the "good" archetypes. EDIT: One creature that I think would be REALLY interesting for this style of deck would be a one-of Wild Beastmaster. It's a 1/1 for 2G that pumps all of your other creatures by +X/+X, where X is its power, whenever it attacks. Being able to potentially close out a game that goes long by swinging in for 8+ with a Mindlink Mech and a BoP could be sweet.

I would consider Batterskull over Kaldra, at least for some matches, even if it's slower, lifelink can help you in a pinch.

Honestly. Ignoble heirarh night be better as an additional way to trigger exalted I know if doesn't tap for blue but your manna is pretty good. And it still taps for 2 colors

I would have replaced the birds with an ignoble as it still provides 2 of your colors, being black and green.

Alot of people don't realize that mind link mech belongs in merfolk.... Crew it with your lord to pump your team even further and then you can swing w a double pumped mech instead of your lord

I would try this again cutting some copies of coldeye and dreamstealer, to add interaction/protection/tutors, cause they don't win the game in one hit like the cephalid does. And i understand the memes, but Elberus really should be a batterskull

Does Dreadhorde Arcanist work with Mindlink Mech the way I think it would? You get to cast free spells as you attack. You don't even need to land the hit. Now I'm envisioning Dreadhorde Ponza.

Honestly, I half wonder if this deck wants to run a 1 of batterskull over a cold-eyed selkie? Selkie always seems to be first on the chopping block when sideboarding, and a 1-of batterskull gives the deck another hit if you draw Kaldra, lifegain vs aggro decks, and is potentially just hard castable, as bad as it feels!
