why is it painful? why does our brain resist us implementing discipline + activities that benefit our very important goals? omg yes the convincing thing, it tries to trick you out of it. so resistance holds the secret? if it knows exactly what we need to do.. i think this is habitual behaviour, our brain wanting to decide. amazing video i loved it, so much wisdom and knowledge in 7 minutes and you can put anything in the place of "music" even, one thing i feel i struggle with is genuinely executing a schedule like things written down to do, a morning schedule, some goal achieving activities(important to find the goal first then do activities that will bring you to that goal, or i learned, working from the goal not to it, still learning tho) but ya i feel what i'm missing is discipline, as well as even realizing my mind chatter in the first place, i feel its so quiet and at a subconscious level that i move into action without awareness to tell it to fuck off in the first place, music wise i not messing with FL much but ukulele and bamboo flute, the flute i can make some sounds and i'm starting to be able to play things naturally, similarly to how one can whistle without needing some music sheets. the uke i haven't touched in a long while, but yeah music is def important to me, more so listening, i love hearing all the music, the layers, the harmony, the symphony, the melody, alternating/dynamic rhythms etc. long comment but thanks once again, this video was helpful to me
Hey sunlight I'm a guitarist trying to make music and you taught me and made me realize a lot about why I keep getting writers block and what resistance is. You're videos are helping me out bro so keep doing what you're doing !! Much love!
Great video again! There's a book called the war of art referring to the term resistance. As artists, our duty is to fight this resistance, because beyond it lies our entire creative capacity (I highly recommend reading this book, it's a banger!). The advice you give in this video is excellent. I would add that meditation can also help us to be more in the present moment and savor these moments of boredom. Since I've been meditating for 5 minutes a day for a few months, I've noticed a slight improvement in my creative ability and I get to work faster. Keep doing these videos, they're really interesting!
When I say I wasted so much times watching tutorials and crying you don’t want to know how serious I am. There’s a difference on the content I want and the content I need sunlight is what I need
