For others having issues, one make sure there are no areas near by, above ground or under that they can spawn in. I thought it wasnt spawning but it was in a small hole. Second, make sure the area around is flat and place slabs on the area around the water. Mine kept spawning outside of the water. Third, place a fletching table under the trap door the villagers are standing on to give a profession. Fourth, place water above the trap door they are standing on, itll break eye contact and make them goto sleep then get back up because the zombie. Fifth, you do not need a name tag, the boat or an item will keep the zombie spawned.
@@steelrain13f99 to stop a zombie from despawning you have to either name it using a name tag or find a zombie that can pick up equipment and give it something
Would have been nice to know from the start that this only works in Java edition and not bedrock, I just spent like 30 minutes to an hour getting this setup only to find out that I would need 20 beds and a much more complex setup to be able to do it on the Xbox.
@Alex Clarke idk how new you are to minecraft, but its been like this since.. well forever. Most youtubers play on pc. Pc plays java. If you want bedrock specific content, you need to specify that in your search, or youre just going to get java.
try to have the villagers go to sleep, by breaking eyecontact with the zombie for a little time (place blocks and destroy if you want). Ofc, you'd want to have a little system that does that automatically but there's a lot of good suggestions in the top comments !!
Guys if your iron golems spawn usually outside of the water, for me I just put slabs on the side and spawn proofed 4 blocks wide of an area on each side.
Unlike other RU-vidrs this guy makes his farms efficient and easy to get it took me and my friends less then 30 minuets to build and the iron started rolling in no complaints props to this guy!
Simple, efficient and as long as there are no 3 air block spaces around the villagers like caves and you NAMETAG (or maybe not needed cuz the boat) the zombie, you get all the iron you could need
Works really well in my survival world. Thanks for the video. Note that results will vary depending on if you're playing in a server. Some servers limit mob spawns including iron golems.
Very awesome farm! I ended up having to lower the pit the golems spawn in as it now would spawn unless I dug down one block. This could be because I am running ATM 8 though...
This initially didn't work for me. But after fully finishing the farm, I blocked the view of the zombie with dirt again, then broke the blocks so the villager would see the zombie. after that the farm started up like clockwork!
Thanks for the video, this is awesome! I was able to get the golem to spawn but, instead of spawning in the 9x9 square, it spawned outside (closer to where the zombie is). Any guesses as to how this happened?
it works! got it in my skyblock world. Thank you! And yes, do make sure to slab up everything that can be slabbed up. The mfs spawned on a 1x1 i was using as a stair😂
it doesnt work with me tho. i have a skyblock server too but no spawns. does nearby villagers affect it? + i dont see any spawns rn even when i havent slabbed everything up
if ypu dont feel like using the boat to move villagers you can actually lure them at night using an extra bed I found this to be a little quicker since sometimes the boat would get stuck on the path blocks in the village
I’m reusing this farm for my 450 day world I made it on day 1 and it still works Im in hardcore so it’s just me I don’t need an insane amount of iron this farms been perfect and still runs today
some advice on villagers you can abuse their ais by leaving a trail of workstations that end in one that cant be reached without crossing an open trapdoorinstead of the whole stairs thing, just break the workstations as they use them and they will walk in on their own
cool design - I worked my way through it .. and it doesn't spawn anything? might just be caves or something, but I haven't seen a single iron golem spawn from this thing... edit: killed an iron golem and one spawned in the farm - is there an iron golem max number or something? the villagers cant even see anything, how do they know to not spawn a golem..
@@lukesutphin5191 The water bounces the villager up and down causing them to periodically sleep in their beds which resets the their internal timer or smth.
Bedrocks requirements are 20 villagers with 20 linked beds and 20 linked workstations. Remember that and itll be pretty obvious if the farm in the video will work or not. Also if it doesnt say bedrock in the title.. Why bother watching it. Its not for bedrock. Bedrock videos will ALWAYS say this is for bedrock in the title. Lol remember that and itll be even more obvious lol
First time in my life trying out an automated farm, and you sir explained it very well. I succeeded on my first attempt, while also adding a bit of an extra step by using 2 chests to make 1 large chests, and using more than 1 hopper (3 at most) to sorta direct it from it coming from up top, going down, and to the side into the big chest, where I have a narrow slabbed pathway I made underground to sit back, and watch how fast my big chest fills up. =)
Note: an easier way to get the zombies in the hole is to use the trap door. if you put it over the hole and open it, the zombie can falll through but it actually will path find instelf over the trap door, because it registers it as a full block.
Right after I build one up in the air with less rates..... 🤦♀️ Also I would assume this build is slightly more difficult to build given the sheer number of caves in 1.19. digging anywhere is an absolute menace 😭😭
Me just casually minding my own business making this until I hear a boss and a creeper is behind me, but is delayed, and then as soon as I move, it explodes. Been XD
Got working, as someone said sorry cant reference you cant find the post, make sure there is a work station near by, i placed under the trap door the villagers are standing on, and make sure you keep the trap door that disappeared from his vid. and place the water at the villagers feet, it breaks eye contact with the zombie and make the panic go away and they will sleep.
so i did everything right everything is good they spawn at a good rate but the issue is they dont spawn in the day time just night but only if i reset it by blocking the zombies view idk why but once its day time boom it doesnt work
Thank goodness for the comments since the content creator didn’t find it important to post anywhere or say at any point in time that it’s a Java only farm for those saying to search up specifically bedrock farms I did and because this did not say bedrock or Java it came up
Absolutely love the idea of the trapdoor substituting soul sand! Pros/Cons: + easy to build + doesn't need minecarts or rails (which requires the much needed iron) + golems spawn in properly within the kill chamber - [if the boat needs to be pixel perfect] then this design sucks because it's so easy for anyone that goes in to push the boat around - zombie isn't protected at all if anything goes wrong - no proper collection/storage system, though of course one could be made as an add-on Tip: - You can place one iron bar on every slot of the hopper to collect irons only :D - If villagers can't find the beds and wander around, you can use work stations (in the morning) to lead them inside and block them off till they claim their beds [Ngl, was a real struggle for me that the villagers couldn't find the beds as it was night and mobby]
replace the two temporary blocks at 4:40, wait until your villagers go back into their beds, then break those temporary blocks. I just did that and my golems spawn again
after some adjustments it works pretty fine.... the lava with signs doesent work so i used the metal grille..... 1 under the lava above the hopper and 2 rods high to get a lava column the middel over the water again a row metalgrille for the perfekt pusch to bbq
Anywhere attached to the hopper! The iron wont be max speed built like this so you have time before it fills but attach a chest anywhere to the hopper. Below, Beside... I would put it beside, Then you have access from the top section and losing 1 or 2 spawn spaces has no effect on the farm rates
@@Chapman_Farms i built this in mcpe and one villager won't sleep, golems aren't spawning, and there isn't a block hitbox so not sure which one is the problem
Ensure that the placing of the slab doesn't line up with full blocks. In other words, the reason spawn proofing works is because mobs can't spawn on halfblocks, and it sounds like you are placing 4 slabs on top of each other, which would be like 2 blocks and therefore not work. I haven't seen the video, yet, so I may be mistaken on what you mean by 4 layers.
So I see the hopper u never said where you put the chest and if straight under hopper then how do u collect from it? I would run more hoppers to a underground collection area. I am gonna attempt to build this first time in my hardcore duo with a friend. But I kinda wanna put the golem underground so I don't hear the golem deaths the clicking gets annoying. So could I put glass block surrounding the outside of the farm? Enclose the whole farm?
i can only get the iron golem to spawn during the the night ? can someone help? edit: to anyone who had the same issue as me run away far enough from that area to were the chucks cant load there and go back or take your time and come back later and it should work
Need to build me one of these ASAP. You got a villager breeder so easy a caveman could build it? I got 2 villagers separated away from their village but don’t know how to build one.
Just make a big hall that they can’t escape from, or any kind of house using something that that cannot open. So like iron doors, I really suggest fence gates though. All they need is a bed each, and then the beds need to have 2 blocks of open space above them. Then after that they need 3 bread each and they will breed!
@@secondchancecookies that is a very valid point. In my experience I am curing and taking away villagers to the point where I don’t have to worry about beds, as they keep getting filled and then emptied when I take the villagers. It seems my only suggestion would be to build a big hall with many beds, and if you are trying to avoid filling up and adding more beds, like you said, the only thing I can think of is to breed only a 3rd villager, make the iron farm, then stop. Other than that I am also very curious as to how that could be avoided 🧐
@@alanjacobs5317 I'd think installing 3 work stations and setting one up next to a minecart/rail system would work. You would need to design it with the possibility of suffocation damage to the villager in the cart in mind-- so as to avoid mobs getting in or villagers getting out when you don't want them to... but if the third villager is brought far enough away by the minecart, the other two should breed to fill the empty bed, and once the new one is grown up they'll sync to the 3rd workstation again and repeat the cycle (unless you get a nitwit ofc) (But noone wants them anyways tbh sooo)
idk man i cant get this thing to work like you have here. first problem im facing is that when i got my 3 villagers down there at night they all went to the bed as they should and i put the water in the middle block. however when daytime hits only two of them end up floating in the water....ALWAYS one of them ends up wandering around down there freely. and i have it built EXACTLY as you showed i nthe video. the only way i can get them to all end up in the water floating is by putting blocks to force him that direction. but then that breaks line of sight with the zombie. and then second problem is that the villager that always ends up walking freely ends up in the boat....please help. i know the video is a year old. but i always hate following a video and getting it like 90% done and then its not working out and i have to start all over, id like to get this working. Thanks!
On the multiplayer server i'm on the boats despawn on logging on/off. Can i place glass instead so the zombie can still 'see' the villagers? I can lower where the boat sits by one so its more eye level?
I started this but had to leave the game for a lil bit. I had just gotten 3 villagers down the hole and next needed the zombie. I came back to the game and I had 8 villagers in my hole. a few babies. but I guess I did something right or something wrong. I can't tell. LOL. they look happy.
