Different clubs for different players... I love my Mini but it is a driver replacement and not a fairway wood, I pair it with a strong 5 wood(16.5lofted G425) and it's a killer combo for shorter/tighter courses.
Thanks for showing that newer TM mini driver can be a fairway finder option for those who struggle with driver off the tee, or hit it to far into hazards on certain par 4 or 5's. 307cc head, twist-face, & shorter shaft.
Good video. I primarily and only keep the mini driver as an off the tee alternative when my driver is acting up or when I'm playing a course that I know I have to find the Fairway off the tee. PS love the last clip at the end 🤣
Thanks for answering my question. I'm over 50yrs old so I need accuracy as distance has been getting less as I age. This video shows me that I don't need to pay over $200 for 10 yards. My Cobra F9 irons can make up the distance on my 2nd shot. I'm going to research 3 woods now. Thanks again for making this video.
Well that answers that question. Need something in between my 10.5 degree driver and 18 degree hybrid. Was tossing up between a mini driver and a 3 wood. The mini driver would get used at most twice off the tee at my home club, hitting off the deck on par 5’s is far more important and a 3 wood that can do both seems a much better option
Found 1995 Titleist DTR Driver for $9 , it's my fairway finder 240 yards (I can't hit my 2 modern drivers - I should sell them , but they are gifts ) For long par 5's it's Driver off the deck or 3 H or 3 Iron , mind you I just purchased C510 five iron with TT 300 S shaft only played it one round so don't know the yardage yet ,but it flies ....;-)
good video, I struggle with this decision a lot . I have a tm mini at 13 and a tsr2+ at 13.5 . Both avg. about 260 for me . I try to make my choice depending on the course I play as I prefer the tm mini off the tee .
I'm struggling with this too, the new Brnr mini driver looks good but I was leaning to TSR2+ to match driver. Did you find any difference off the deck? Does either club find fairways more than the other?
@@Twopeetfeet I usually play the mini because i feel it's more forgiving and accurate off the tee. The tsr2+ is more versatile however . it's way better off the deck I just dont find myself needing to hit a 260 yd shot off the deck very often is why on most occasions I play the mini
In only 1 of the 4 situations did you have a consistent ball flight, not missing both ways - i.e. the Strong 3+ off the deck. This was important for my own journey to scratch - building clubs in the long end of the bag that have a predominant shape. For me, all clubs longer than 5 iron, you want to have a 95% likelihood of delivering a specific shape - nothing else matters in comparison. If you can't control curvature, you don't know where to aim.
@@MEAT0 you seemed to have missed the point of what I wrote - i.e. consistent shot shape NOT what side you miss on. Shot shape is everything - if you can't control your curvature, playing good golf is impossible.
@@wallstreetoneil I agree but would like to add further if I may. Strive for consistent shot shape (includes straight hitters) but there is a limit you want for left to right and right to left. Pretty much impossible to play with big hooks and slices, so best to limit your curvature to a moderate fade or draw
Sometimes I just feel like the clubs at the top of the bag just don't really matter, like I could play good golf with just about anything. Maybe a mini for consistency, a 17 degree uw for tee balls or long fairway shots, then just good irons beyond that is all I really would need. Makes me want to get rid of my driver and 3 wood.
Play your game and I agree ,for me grew up playing with a basic set ,no wedge just different angles created with my 9 iron , watched a video on tweaking a 5 wood ,longer shaft and results were really good.
nice vid, I don't think you have the speed to play either, or distinguish between either tbh. Just need a driver and something you enjoy hitting off the ground for most distance, which is probably a 3 wood.
The shaft that is the only option from TM sucks. I put in a chopped down GD IZ-6, and it's about even with my driver. I hit down vs. up on it. I have the 13.5 head and a 16.5 4 Wood when I don't want to use my Driver
Really not sure how that stock shaft managed to end up in that club. I mean I do know exactly how, but you think there would be other better options at same price.
Just bought a taylormade the one mini driver 2019 since my driver is a bit inconsistent. It didnt come yet but today my driver is really good. I dont know if i should cancel shipment. I guess i could just rock it with the driver???
You need to pre-load your impact position. Meaning get into the athletic stance that you would have at impact as you address the ball and then swing. (Keeping your hips a bit strong to the left). Put the point of your elbow on the target rather than pointed towards your left shoe. This will start you making strong left pulls. (No big right miss). Then you can work back from there. Currently you look stapled to the ground at address and trough back swing. Your hips can’t fire through because you are super white and your best dance move is the hokey pokey…or that you are planted like a tree. 😅. You’re welcome.
