Mini's Biggest Car Gets Even Bigger: But Is the 2025 Mini Countryman the BEST Yet?

We took delivery of my wife's at the end of July and immediately took it on a trip from TX to central FL. It is an excellent road trip vehicle and we averaged at least 35mpg overall on the trip (most was highway cruising). The only cons I have really dealt with so far is the infotainment is very laggy especially when you first start the car up. Things definitely help if you set up your profile to the key fob (saves a lot of having to repeat settings each time you get in). The other was like you mentioned, the material on the upper door. After resting your arm there for a while it gets very uncomfortable. The pros overall have certainly out weighed those couple of complaints.

Might be just my opinion, but this is a big step down from the previous one! The exterior is much less attractive and the interior just seems cheap and tacky. Not something I'd spend money on.

Mini is not so mini anymore. Its still cute though, maybe this is the big momma of minis. The queen mini, finally revealing herself.

Seen a few of these on the road in the UK. Remain unconvinced by the new styling.

Love my 2023 white silver metallic mini countryman all 4 S countryman , 15k runs flawless , New interior will be hard to clean unless they have some type if fabric spray or cleaner, not crazy about new shifter design also!

It's too big to be a Mini. It's just a cheaper BMW X1. Not that that's a bad thing. The Countryman hasn't been available with a manual since the 2019 model year, so it has been gone awhile now.

Good to see you, Nathan, not so much that Mini. That interior, Yikes, does it ever look cheap. Recycled materials is one thing, but that doesn't look very good, or very German, Volvo's sister company Polestar did it much better with their use of recycled materials. To borrow a phrase from the 3 former hosts of Top Gear, "It looks like a man's washbag."

I have this on my short list for the next car.

I like the idea of the increased horsepower but it looks less like a Mini. I like the classic looks of the prior models better. (Also wish they kept the manual transmission option too.)

From the round screen to the interestinf color choices, it is definitely one to buy if you want something that stands out or is a little different. I like it, but i dont know if its something I would want, especially not at that price. I actually dig the parchment look for the center screen, I would like to see some other manufacturers start to have some fun with things like that.

Anything I can find lists an 8 inch ground clearance for the new 2025 model. Still wouldn’t be climbing mountains but a decent boost in clearance.

Green paint with the tan seats looks fantastic. Cloth door and dash pieces look cheap. Points for the unique infotainment screen though

Love it great evolution, i don't know what ppl expected: a resigned 6 inch short 350 lbs lighter 350+ horsepower... BMW makes those go buy one of them. Ppl that drive Mini want to grow their daily driver. Go buy a small older mini if that's what you want but don't fight the times from your couch

Yay, Nathan! Good to see you. I'm baffled by the Mini brand. Mini was originally England's answer to the VW Beetle. A small, cheap car for the working class. Now it's a fleet of overpriced, niche luxury and performance vehicles for yuppies. Those who were involved in the original project must be rolling in their graves.

I had the misfortune of getting this car as a loaner from the dealership today. It's utter garbage. Drives like a whale, zero engine noise, interior has minimal mechanical switches, and everything about it just feels cheap. They ripped out everything that makes a MINI a MINI and we're left with a soulless monstrosity.

Like the color green and the circle infotainment inside. The fabric interior? Not so much. Considering the price, size, and powertrain, I wonder if a Dodge Hornet would be a better crossover to buy.

Nathan, you're awesome but you need to work on your cardio so you don't sound out-of-breath on camera. I know because I sounded the same on camera and in presentations until I lost about 100lbs and increased my daily cardio activity. Nothing but caring in sharing this :)

I saw one of these on the road and thought it was a Kia Soul.

That cloth is not going to be easy to wipe down and clean, be interesting to see what these look like in 5 years.

MINI's are great. they are just to pricy for no reason because it's mother company is BMW.

Nathan i am Mini fan even if this model is different old models but there's big BUT well two issues i don't mind course martial on door but its like covering scratchy plastics. Big butt is i dont mind big nice clean tailgate but Mini could had little split tailgate aka Land Rover that could sit on N slide gear instead lifting gear over like old US 80's sedan, arrrrrr come on BMW i want that luxury country thing.

Currently driving one while my 2022 F60 is at the dealer. Hate it, interior looks and feel cheap compared to the F60. Basically looks and feels like a Kia.

No way that an automatic.. even being a dual clutch has less moving parts than a manual transmission!! Though it may shift faster and more efficient and precise !! Still never as fun !!

Nah. Alec Issigonis who designed the original Mini is rolling in his grave. This thing is so inappropriate to be called a “Mini”. It’s a Maxi, and one that doesn’t resemble a Mini at all. Very disappointed with BMW.

I bought a mini for my daughter. The CVT didn’t last long. Had to junk the whole thing since a replacement transmission would have cost more the car was worth. With that said can’t watch video. Sorry Nathan

This car is a “Schmedium Cooper”… The “Mini” needs to be dropped from BMW’s naming system of “Cooper” branded products. If “Mini” is still considered small then we need to invent another word dedicated to its replacement. Maybe BMW can buy the rights to “NSU/Prinz” from Volkswagen AG and start over with small cars.

One word: Abomination. This “new” MINI is horrendous! It doe not pay homage to its predecessor and quite frankly, all I see is an X1 with a slapped-on MINI badge.
