Mini Sewing Machine Not Stitching? Don't make this mistake!
Is your Mini Sewing Machine not stitching properly? If you have re-threaded your mini sewing machine, and followed all the advice in my two earlier videos that deal with this same problem, then chances are you are not using the correct needle for your mini sewing machine. Or maybe, you are not installing the mini sewing machine needle properly.
In this episode, I show you how to deal with both these problems
Combined with all the knowledge you have gained earlier on this channel, your mini sewing machine should be up and running in no time!
I will be using my KPCB mini sewing machine for this easy, beginner friendly sewing tutorial.

I have a Michley Lil Sew & Sew LLS-Mini. It came with two, "Organ" brand needles, size 90/14.

Hi Lynda, you're right, my second unbranded mini sewing machine came with a 90 too. I think the manufacturer want to make sure no one is using a super thin fabric to sew!

Hi.. First of all a big thanks to you for guidance.. I am using this machine since last year.. But yesterday suddenly I noticed that thread were overraping the bobbin and hence machine is not working.. I tried my best to sort out the problem, then I noticed that bobbin thread is disturbing by one of the plastic side barrier which is above the bobbin ..but I don't understand how could I sort out this problem.. Plz help

Hi Nelakshi, Thank you for your comment. It certainly sounds like the bobbin casing is causing the problem. Have you checked the screw is tight and in place? I will try to sort out the problem and get back to you xx

Good morning just been given a new mini sawing machine for my birthday just tried using it and its not stitching everything should be fine as new out of box but just not holding stitch and have tried everything hope u can help .

Hi Gemma, Thank you for your comment. First of all, happy birthday! If it's a new sewing machine, I would suggest sticking to a tried and true list of eliminating the possible causes. If exchange or return isn't possible, we can then resort to some drastic measures. My mini sewing machine is making loose stitches on the bobbin side. Not sure how to tighten the thread for the bottom so it won't be loose on the bottom of my fabric

Karla, if the bobbin thread is loose, it means the top thread is too tight. You need to loosen it to match up. But firstly, make sure you are using a high quality thread as this sewing machine is particularly sensitive to thread quality. Unfortunately this is a problem many users are facing. These are very cheap generic products. If it is not working, don't let it ruin your day. Try to return it and buy a full-sized proper machine, even if it is second hand. I hope you find joy in sewing again soon. xx

How do you close a stitch using this machine ... no reverse run? or is it necessary?

Hi Thanks for your comment. There is no reverse stitch. You can do it in two ways: 1. Manually turn the project around and go over your stitches OR 2. Leave long thread ends and knot them by hand. I prefer the second method. Hope this helps.

Why not try a Midi sewing machine that have reverse stitching. I have 2 sewing machine, one is a mini and other one is a Midi. Mini machine don’t have reverse stitch.

You need to pull the pin out, that's the purple thing, I actually had to use my teeth to pull it out the first time.

Hi. Thanks for your comment. By vinyl do you mean oil cloth or plastic sheeting? If yes, do watch this video where I show you how to use it. Hi Akinbiyi Thank Thank you for your comment. If you have tried everything and it's not working, it would be best to return or replace it. These are generic mass produced machines, and lots of Chinese sellers appear to be branding them as their own. You will see in the comments on my channel, lots of people have had similar experiences as yours with little luck. Please don't let a low quality product let you down. Return or replace it asap. Hope this helps x

I have the same issue. I already fixed the bobby timing and followed how to get the bottom thread out but when I tried to sew, it's really not working. I tried using other brand of thread and needles and yet still the same. What might could be wrong?

Oh no! Ragini, have you checked all the operation checklist points? There are eight checks you need to make before your mini can work properly. Please make sure you are using the low speed setting, go nice and slow and ensure the thread tension is set properly.

I don't know if this will fix your problem but there is a correct way to set tension. Make sure your pressure foot is up. This will open the tension disks. Pass your thread between the tension disks and lower the presure foot. Now you can set the upper tension. If you have not been lifting the pressure foot before you pass the thread through the disks, it can appear the thread is fine but it willl jump out when you sew. Good luck!
