"all of life is repentance" AMEN to that. Our sinning will never end in this life and we continually need God's mercy, grace, and forgiveness. When we forget about that the devil swoops in and turns us in on ourselves

This reminded me of a time as a young baptist when I wasn’t taking the Lord’s supper bc I couldn’t be sure that I hadn’t confessed and repented of allllll of my sins from the past week. I just had this idea that if I didn’t confess everything then I’d be guilty of the body and blood. It was months, maybe longer, that I was refraining. My brother noticed and asked me about it, can’t remember what he said to me but I was eventually able to come back to the table.

Brilliant discussion!!!! I like that "take Jesus off the cross and turn it into a ladder" ( or something like that). Some people will reject the crucifix and say that Jesus didn't stay there; He rose from the grave. This is true, but they want the neat and tidy empty grave over the blood and gore and mess of the Cross. They forget what He did physically on the cross. We CANNOT forget the price He paid for us. The victory was won on the cross and we can never forget or downplay that. Using the cross as a ladder turns into trusting in one's obedience to a set of man-made rules as a measure of our faith in God. Those are the churches that have cast aside the Sacraments and class them as mere symbols. So sad!

Brilliant, terrific topic. I really enjoyed this. Even though I am not Lutheran, I find myself learning from the emphasis on Jesus' completed work.

Wrong!!!!!!!! ... Jesus minimised SIN to not give power to the enemy! The apostle Paul said “the strength of sin is the law but under grace sin has no power”. Who’s giving power to sin? Religious evil zealots because THEY want control over your life which is “antichrist”. Stop 🛑 twisting the word of God. Forgiveness of sin was already given at the cross ✝️. This is how you preserve the gospel...
