There are lots of little sprite errors like that. For example, the Elite Trio have their Honor Guard Uniforms despite this being set long before their promotion around the time of Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

@@seandwalsh3 The appearances of characters like Starlow and the elite trio who aren't even in the GBA version of the game and Mario and Luigi coming across Bowser Jr. which never happened in the original Bowser's Inside Story.

@@htimbers7407 they never appeared in the original game, that doesn’t mean they can’t exist elsewhere? That’s ridiculous. Yes Mario & Luigi never come across Bowser Jr. in the original, but that’s obviously just something that happens off-screen. It sounds like you’re just making excuses.

Fawful was always characterised as the true brains of the operation in the original Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, hence his betrayal in the ending. Cackletta wouldn’t have gotten nearly as far along in her plan without his loyalty and his technology. Even his bio in the original game’s manual highlight his genius. The Vacuum Helm is used to nab Princess Peach’s voice, knock the Koopa Cruiser out of the sky, contain Cackletta’s soul. He blocked the Hoohoo Mountain path. He built the Peach-bots. He was also probably the one to build the Laser Snifit Ray and Cackletta’s flying chair. The only things Cackletta really did in the original were devising the plan to steal the Beanstar and transforming the Beanbean Kingdom’s royalty, along with the idea to steal an empty Bowser’s Castle. The remake retcons nothing, it just shows the true extent of her reliance on Fawful and explains some mysteries from the original. As for your other points: 1) Her entire army does not consist of Fawful Robots, there are just a handful of Fawful robots later on in the game’s story being mass-produced in Bowser’s Castle. This is why they aren’t used in Woohoo Hooniversity. The rest of her army can be seen in Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser and several parts of the main story, fighting against Mario. It’s also pretty clear to me that Fawful had an ego in the original game, but he was blinded by his loyalty and adoration of Cackletta, which is why he didn’t act out of line until the end. 2) It makes perfect sense. Bowser’s army wasn’t taken into consideration by Cackletta when she devised her plan. She clearly isn’t all that familiar with the Koopa Kingdom or their undying loyalty to Bowser. Perhaps she just thinks they’ll follow whoever the big bad is. It was never her plan in the original, as in the original we never had an explanation for why Bowser’s Minions were fighting on Cackletta’s side. There was no plan. It makes sense that she wouldn’t immediately consider disguising as Bowser to trick the minions as she did earlier with Lady Lima and the Mario Bros. The reason for stealing the empty castle is quite clearly to use its cannons to force the Beanbean Kingdom into subordination. Him disobeying her orders is happening immediately after his realisation from the battle with Mario and Luigi. I also wouldn’t say she’s taking it like a loser - she’s putting trust in her faithful minion, which she has done for the entirety of the rest of the game. 3) No this is in-character. Bowser doesn’t want to kill Mario unless he’s feeling particularly power-crazy or really pissed off. He would much rather defeat his nemesis and rub in the fact that he won, and he certainly wouldn’t casually command some random Goomba to destroy Mario for him. In any case, the scenes are canon and don’t seem to change anything about the original story, they just enhance it.

@@seandwalsh3 Dang I kinda just expected this comment to exist and maybe have like 3 people see it, didn't expect a reply. Alright so lemme preface this by saying, I don't HATE Minion's Quest, infact I feel kinda bad bashing on it this much since it's ML contetn and has heart, but these are my opinions. I did try to play it so I could watch it's cutscenes but the gameplay was so boring, believe me I tried. But I do think a lot of interactions are funny and adding another layer to the story with Bowser's minions looking for him is admittedly pretty clever given his situations in the original game. What I don't like is some of the stuff they did near the end. But first off, let me say that I do like Fawful, moreso than Cackletta. I completely understand that he did a lot of the work for her and it makes perfect sense for him to realize that at the end after their second big failure and plan to betray her and then later develop into a bigger threat than she ever was. But I don't like that they downplayed her at the end of her own game while doing so. I already take a slight (like very very minor) issue with the OG's game final area being in Bowser's Castle with a Koopaling boss rush, since it makes her feel like Bowser 2.0, although I still like it. But downplaying her further doesn't help when I feel like if this was her plan like it was in the original, the added depth of like actually having to fool them herself (like think the Koopaling scene from the OG but she disguises as Bowser first) while Fawful actually builds a robot army under her nose would be a cool development of that, but that's not exactly what happens. 1) Oh I love the Mechawful prototypes and the secret factory underneath Bowser's Castle as an endgame thing, I think it's a perfect way to play up Fawful's intended betrayal and having them be shoddy prototypes makes it cooler as it's like connective tissue to BIS. It's so good I wish it was in the original game. What I don't like as much though, is them appearing in the first attack on Castle Town. It doesn't make a lot of sense: Cackletta would know of them, Fawful is still deathly loyal to Cackletta (which is what I meant by lacking his ego, he absolutely was not making machines in his likeness at this point in the OG game), they don't have a factory to make these things in and they don't show up anywhere in the Hooniversity (which as far as they knew, was endgame for their plans). And it kinda takes away from their significance later in the game as she already knows of them and it seems to give a lot of people the impression Fawful always meant to betray her since the beginning when that makes no sense and makes him less interesting. 2) I don't really agree with this at all, I'm not trying to be rude, but they absolutely retconned it a bit. That's why they removed the scene of an undisguised Bowletta ordering the Koopalings and them listening to her without hesitation. She absolutely is pretending to be Bowser there and they're listening to her undisguised, which would make no sense if it was included alongside the remakes new lore. And she doesn't need to understand Bowser's army on a deeper level to understand that if she disguises as their leader, they'll listen to her and as she's possessing Bowser, that seems like it was enough of a disguise for the older less developed minions. I would also imagine the ones that noticed were too afraid to ask. Also it's exactly like her tricking the Bros. at Beanbean Castle: "disguise yourself as someone they'd listen to and use their talents/resources for your own ends". So it feels like a spit in the face to not only give Fawful her plan when originally he was just going along with her plan that he didn't originally get (Fawful: "We chase them now!" Cackletta: "...No! Instead we go to the Mushroom Kingdom!" Fawful: "M-Mushroom Kingdom?!?"), but to also remove an OG scene that clearly shows that's her plan AND to make her so stupid to not even understand it until it's explained for an implied second time to her. Fawful is cool, but he doesn't need credit for every single one of Cackletta's plans and accomplishments. Also a bit more nitpicky but some of the dialogue for both Cackletta and Fawful is weird, since they never engaged in the "Mario and other guy" bit once in the OG game but here do it pretty often. It just feels off. 3) Maybe or maybe not kill. But Bowser absolutely wants to and constantly says to 'destroy' Mario, so it feels like they're downplaying Bowser as a villain since you're playing on his side (man is still evil and proud of it) and it feels dumb that THATs what catches the Goomba MC off guard. And I mean, it's retroactive canon so I feel it's up to interpretation. If people want to view this as canon, I take no issue, but it bothers me a bit too much even if I like some of the ideas. I WANT to like MQ's lore completely, but these details just keep me from doing so.

this might be dead but i am gonna throw my hat in the ring and say something too. There is something rulers of nations do is employing a fake leader. Essentially on paper their are in charge and make the decisions of the land and are the face while you are something like the advisor. However the ruler is practically dependent on you since they have no idea what they are doing, so in practicallity you rule, but with no consequences since when you goof up its the rulers head not the advisors. I can kinda see the same relationship with fawful and cackletta. Fawful being the true, master of everything but since he was only an "underling" and not the main bad guy he avoided his demise and lived to tell the tale. But since he didn't have a scape goat in Mario and luige 3 he had to be ruler himself.
