This channel is highly underrated, just take a moment and pay attention to how much work he does in every video, especially the camerawork. This channel is unique and very special, very relaxing to look at, keep it going, we love it.
Whats cable 😂😂😂 I got rid of that shit like 2 years ago. I watch Netflix & youtube. I love stumbling up on random channels like this by accident. I think I watch youtube more than netflix tbh. Most nights netflix is on F is for family, or paradise PD or something else with the volume low, while I'm on my phone watching RU-vid 😂
Foresty gonna be clutching that slow cooker at his death bed 60 years from now lol Foresty: “We had a good run Sparky. Tell them our story!” “Ribs!” *flatline
Dude. You need a spot on the Food Network Channel. Seriously. “Van life Cuisine, roughing it never tasted so good”. Your time slot would be #1 hands down. Pizza in a slow cooker, WHO KNEW???? You keep breaking creative cooking barriers in the van. Kudos 👍
I agree. :-) Maybe he should come out with his own line of slow cookers. For those of us in the States, this would be like the George Foreman Grill...the Foresty Slow Cooker. LOL
You know, Foresty, I think that this may be the first video of yours that I ever watched, and it is what initially attracted me to your channel. I was watching a lot of van life videos during the Covid lockdown a few years ago, and I saw the thumbnail on this video, and I remember thinking, "Look, that guy lives in a van and he can make pizza!" So I watched it, and I was immediately hooked. I knew that I had found a kindred spirit with all of the mountain climbing, camping, hiking, cooking and your love of the outdoors. You are an exceptional person and your channel reflects it. Thank you for many happy hours of watching your videos!!
The genuine smile you have on your face while hiking warms my soul. I love your channel and I get so excited when I see that you’ve posted a new video!!
Awesome video man. Refreshing to see someone else my age who can actually cook. There is no excuse for an adult to not be able to cook, it's an extremely important life skill.
Foresty, you seriously make me question why I’m working my life away. Much respect for the way you have made your life so simple but yet so exciting. Stay safe buddy!!!
I don't think I've ever commented on a video before but you have quickly become my favorite channel. You are so genuine and your videos are awesome, never any clickbait, every second of the videos are pure entertainment! Keep up the good work man!
The look of Joy while hiking through that wind up to the lookout. Smiling while having a snack before walking down. Don't take it for granted all of it, wind, snow, cold, it's all amazing!
Been subbed for a little bit. Want to make a comment if you don’t mind. Although the cold weather is NOT for me, I certainly see the beauty in you way of life. Keep it up man. I’ll watch your vids every time you put one up.
I love the winter, the snow, and the slowing of modern society that comes with the harsh environment. I love the summer, the warmth, and the livelihood that proliferates.
Hi Foresty Forest, An amazing hike. You say it wasn’t too arduous but I think you’re understating how windy and cold that it appeared. To see the fire lookout at the summit was amazing and then to see you arrive at the summit just blew me away. Please tell me that your diarising your adventures and cataloguing your photos so you can write a book about your life in years to come. Your leading an amazing life...may you enjoy each day to it’s fullest 👍. All the best.
I would surely like a monthly video on the "financial aspects" of living in a mini van. Revenue from RU-vid, working jobs, cost of living, car payments, taxes and everything is money related. Most RU-vidr who live in vans avoid talking about money. They sensationalize living in the van, but in reality some people are going through financial hardship and shedding a light on the financial aspect would surely help them out making a decision.
Keep in mind too that you are getting a carefully packaged narrative. There are many downsides and aspects they never talk about either. For example, I think he and Kira are in some kind of relationship, but they both need their vans and even just spending a night together in one of those 2 vans would be very uncomfortable to say the least. Getting internet way out where you can camp for free is spotty at best. Diesel is rather expensive in Canada at $1.143 Canadian per liter, about a 1/4 of a gallon. He's going through upwards of 6 liters a night, though probably less most times. Still, that's over $200 a month in a cold spell, which is pretty common in Canada. They cannot store much food, which means a lot driving. Those big heavy vans (loaded with wood) get poor mileage. Daily showers are a thing of the past. Answering nature isn't fun either. Mail is a pain in the butt. If you need something, you have to have an address for shipping it to you. All this is assuming you already have a van. Thousands for the van and a thousand or more additional dollars to make it "home" This is assuming you have the tools and ability. AAA is a must have. I do know you can probably save a lot on insurance by finding the area with the best rates. My area is HORRIBLE.( But there are places you can do much, much better.) $1000 (US) every six months for the state mandated 15/30/5 liability only (no comp/no collision). But you really need full coverage for this. You don't want an accident taking away not just your car, but your "home" If forest's van gets stolen, he looses everything including a bike that is probably another $2k (high quality fat bike's are not cheap) I was never a RU-vidr when I was doing it. But, it was also 30 years ago. It's cheaper than renting an apartment, but in many ways, it's not really a fair comparison. You also need storage. I don't know what storage units costs these days though. Even small storage units were expensive back then. I can't imagine even a small unit being under $20 a month, especially without a contract.
as someone who lives in the Chicagoland area and considers myself a deep-dish pizza snob as a result... Yeah, I'd make and eat that slow cooker pizza. Seriously, you should keep that thing. it's put in a lot of work for you at this point.
Near Philly, but from Elgin, IL. I watched the video just for the deep dish pizza! Made deep dish pizza for a past Super Bowl. Turns out that my Philly friend said was the best pizza he ever ate!
When the rest of the world are fighting over politics and arguing about life and general this young man is enjoying nature at its best and living life at its best enjoy brother well deserved happy travels to you
Could you imagine building that fire lookout in the 20s. All that material had to be brought up there. Or telling an apprentice to head back to the truck and grab the board stretcher.😂
Ryan T i was thinking same thing. Besides having to pack it all up there they probably had to cut the boards and everything out in the bush. Tougher folks than most today
You do amazing things in the slow cooker in a mini van! You are creating better dishes than I am in my custom kitchen in my four bedroom house😂😂😂 👍🏾 Keep the cooking videos coming, man.
WOW!!!!! 😄😃 Just gorgeous scenery!!!! You are living the dream!!!!!! One last time with the slow cooker.....whatever!!!!! Lol!!!!! 😂 That pizza looked soooo good!!!
The drone shots in this video have been some of my favourite so far and the parking spot was crazy. The wind made for some pretty crazy visuals and I'm glad you made it safely. Definitely my favourite hike you've done so far.
Foresty: "I'll use the slowcooker just one more time." Me: *Smiles and rolls eyes* Foresty: "I'm a little behind schedule so I gotta pick up the pace." (Stops to build snowman) Me: *Literally laughs*
Quite honestly my favourite channel on RU-vid. And honestly, slow cookers rock. I love mine too and was distraught when a foster dog got my old one of the kitchen counter with a roast chicken. The dog was fine, the chicken missing in action and the slow cooker in pieces.....
He's let go of every attachment to live a simple life. He won't necessarily keep it. He can always get another one another time. It will be interesting to see if he really keeps it.
You are inspirational, just getting out and exploring the wild on your own. Not waiting for better weather, not waiting for someone else to come out, just getting out there. You have a true spirit of adventure and don't even get me started on the meals you cook!!
Every time you surprises us Foresty Forest. From the pizza ....up to the top of the mountains, you do the impossible--POSSIBLE!!!!Well done man.Keep going on.
Dude, I just have to say how impressed I am with your hiking skills! I'm 61.5 and always dreamed of a hike like the ones you go on. Of course I couldn't do it now, but what beautiful places you go to. And you have convinced me to get one of those tiny cookers! That pizza looks delicious. Take care and thanks for sharing!
Beautiful mountain drone shots every time. You put a lot of attention into the details. Love your mountaineering stuff. After 30-40k step days at that altitude/elements you can eat the entire Stewy slow cooker every time. Lol
Try eliminating the parchment paper and greasing the inside of the pot with shortening or olive oil. That'll help crisp it and will also be easy to turn out onto a board. Also reduce moisture in ingredients as much as possible.
Or lay the dough on the flat paper first and then put both into the slow cooker together and yeah, the cornmeal goes underneath the dough. Loving this channel ❤️
Thanks for featuring that information page on the lookout. The people listed must have been very hardy to deal with conditions like that. Loving the content Foresty!
I'd watch a 2nd channel of just you doing the slow cooker, this channel is inspiring and you are living the dream! Thanks for sharing your true freedom with us
"the only way to keep the outhouse on site was to build it out of stone". I wonder how many toilets rolled down that mountain before they fixed that mistake.
*Nothing better than preparing a meal then taking a good long hike to pass the time while looking forward to the end of the day when you get to eat it*
By far the best content available on any media these days. Unbelievable. So many aspects to Foreesty Forest channel - multi-talented! He should have millions of subscribers. Added bonus just such a nice humble guy who also cooks fabulous food. #1 for sure!
