Ok, so I have a couple more flights I filmed and have been sitting on my hard drive. This footage was shot in August, but I finally got a chance to edit and upload it. This was my first time flying in the King Air with this student. I had flown with him once before for a stage check when he was getting his PVT. Come along as we enjoy a good flight and some fun conversations about fun in America and China!
The only thing better than the sensational experience of flight is the joy of sharing it with others!
Seeing the world, from above - looking down, gives us an even greater appreciation for our creation.
This channel is to help educate, encourage, and share with fellow travel fans and aviation enthusiasts both the pleasures and productivity of flight.

An incredible amount of courage and patience on the part of the instructor.....I wouldn't have sat willingly in the second seat and let this guy operate the controls of a King Air. Takes a lot of guts.

Some sim time with the throttle quad for starters... Holy over trq batman.
@AviatorMark
@AviatorMark 5 лет назад
hawkdsl Well, the throttle jockey part should have been smoothed out in his multi training (before the King Air) but it seems to be an issue often. You just have to take them where they are and make the best pilot you can out of them in the short time you have. A lot of CFIs are very new now with all of them going to the airlines so quickly so that complicates the training process as well. Used to be a CFI would stay a few years but most are leaving within a year....

@@AviatorMark Don't you feel vulnerable to a guy like that kid making a mistake that you can't recover from?
@AviatorMark
@AviatorMark 5 лет назад
@@johnmaer This is certainly something we must always take serious and never let them go too far ... but we don't want to micro manage the student either. I do not feel vulnerable. I enjoy it. However, yes, there is calculated risk. Not for everyone.

Great seeing a flight in a twin engine King Air. Was Max here from China as an exchange flight student? Must be difficult with the language barrier and being in the USA. After seeing many single engine flights, it was nice to see the faster landing with the twin engine King Air E90. Sounds like from the video that you taught other Chinese students to fly in the past.
@AviatorMark
@AviatorMark 5 лет назад
Ben Burns Yes, we have many Chinese students that come over to the USA to learn to fly. I have taught several and I still enjoy teaching every once in awhile on my days off. It’s a rewarding experience and most of them are pretty neat guys.

Where's the checklist?? You got on him about leaving lights on after take off, that would have been on after t/o checks.
@AviatorMark
@AviatorMark 5 лет назад
Kyle - That is not how it works. He does the tasks and flows taught and then calls for the checklist. This is how most every airline does it, and we work by SOPM not just random preference. I was actually trying to get him to do his tasks so we could run the checklist. However, most checklists are edited out of the video because most people do not care to watch a video of us reading checklists. This video shows less than half of the flight that took place. Thanks for watching and for stating your concern but I assure you there aren’t any pilots, that I know anyway, teaching in a King Air who aren’t running checklists religiously.
