It depicts pain as a football fan so well, and he does such a good job with the immediate recovery so you gotta respect it. I loved his call even as a lions fan when he called the lions the “kittys” just cuz he was pissed and it was real af. Would get this dude a beer frfr
He's a HOF announcer period. They need a wing in Canton where he and his fellow great announcers can have their audios sent through earphones and NFL Fans, the hardcore ones, can lie down and just....listen :)
that's really an amazing addition to an already emotional call lol. As a fan of an AFC team, I have sympathy for the Vikings but I kinda want more heartbreak so we can get these incredible calls from Paul Allen.
Paul Allen has had one hilarious heartbreaking call in the 2003, 2009, 2015, and 2021 seasons. Given this pattern, I bet that he'll have another one in the 2027 season.
The Vikings will try a record long game winner, which will doink off the crossbar into the hands of a returner that the opposing team will have there, and he will run to about the 30, fumble, however it won't touch the ground, and will go right into another player on the returner's team for a TD.
Paul Allen's "Are you kidding me?!" is historical honestly. Nowadays its a lot of "Are you kidding me with that catch JJ?!" I quote that line at least once a game.
The Saints game was more heartbreaking because of what was at stake, but losing to the Cardinals in 03 might be the most Vikings moment ever when you consider 1) they started the season 6-0 2) a loss by GB OR SEA would have gotten them in the playoffs (go figure, they both win) 3) the Vikings were up 11 points with 1:55 left 4) he only scored because the “force out” rule was in effect
Watching the Vikes-Saints game at a local sports bar/restaurant, I recall all to well that sensation of my heart sinking as the Super Bowl hopes for the Vikes were passed into the hands of Tracy Porter back in 2010. But that Paul Allen call from the Cardinals "NOOOOOO!!!!" game is not only absolutely funny and tragic (as a Vikings fan), but is borderline legendary. I showed that clip to some of my co-workers here in Georgia and they just can't help laughing. Some of the people I talk with can't stand Paul Allen because "he's such a homer". My take is that he calls Vikings games as a passionate fan would call games.
I feel you! it’s better than some national calls. the local guys at home, it just makes you feel like they’re right there in your room with you as a fan. call it like the fans see it. they’re there with you when you’re winning, and they’re excited with you, they feel the pain when you lose, they get pissed off when horrible calls get made, it’s just that you can feel it. they can call it being a homer if they want, but it’s nothing like a commentator with passion to get you through.
@@stevekoenig3684 - I think local play-by-play callers SHOULD be allowed to be emotional and get mad when their team blows it. Makes the broadcast more fun. My coworker showed me this Harrelson call...love the slow burn anger displayed by Ken here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KfFrHM8uP9g.html
This man heartache is amazing 😂😊 that Arizona call was perfect! He had to finish none biased the job then with the touchdown !! The the Nooooo! Was so funny
I don’t understand why people think radio announcers, who broadcast specifically for that team’s audience, need to be neutral. I would vomit listening to someone for my home team that didn’t cater to that specific team’s audience.
The Vikings have broken this man over the decades...It is time for him to call at least 1 year for a team that is a superbowl winner before he leaves this veil of tears.
I am an evil sadist. I could watch this for hours if there was enough footage. More painful losses for the Vikings please! This man processing losses is pure comedy.
Get us the entire late 4th quarter and overtime sequence from yesterday's Vikings-Bills game now! I want to hear Paul Allen's pure rage permeating from every pore in his face and his brain exploding into little bits!
I wish there was video of Doug Brien's 2nd missed extra point against Buffalo PA: "The kick is up... It's no good again!" Joe Senser: "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" PA: "Doug Brien misses his 2nd extra point of the game and the Vikings only lead by 3!" Joe Senser: "COME ON!"
I was at that game, so I'd never heard that call. I was in high school and was there with two friends. We were at the players exit with a big crowd looking for autographs. Doug Brien and his wife walked out and my buddy said, "Hey guys, let's go kick some extra points!" Some of the crowd laughed, some booed, Doug Brien didn't flinch, but his WIFE shot us daggers.
These are awesome No wonder how many people that are in the comment section aren't fans though cuz these are fantastic for negatives but my god does this man give you goosebumps when he calls plays for your team I turn the TV on mute if I want to watch it there's a delay I don't care he is the best and he gives so many Goosebumps dude it's amazing... The whole "he's loose!" Bit that he started with Peterson... Look up those calls oh my God... Goosebumps already
Paul Allen is a awesome play-by-play announcer calling every single one of the greatest calls of all time he should be HOF worthy for sure i really love Mr.Allen
As a huge Packer fan in a Packers family loving in Minnesota as a kid I’ll never forget our house going crazy for the Arizona td giving the division to the Packers. My brother and I ran around the neighborhood.
“But why do even ponder passing, I mean YOU CAN TAKE A KNEE AND TRY A 56 YARD FIELD GOAL! THIS IS NOT DETROIT MAN, THIS IS THE SUPER BOWL!” 1:20 PAUL WAS HEATED ☠️☠️☠️
To paraphrase the Mouth of Sauron: "Know that he has suffered greatly at the hands of a host of Vikings chokes. Who would've thought someone whose livelihood revolved around his state's biggest sports team could endure so much pain? And Paul Allen has. He has."
