It really helped me alot I have my exam on this chapter the day after tomorrow and this is great for me! I didn't focus on any of my classes due to some reason and now I can totally understand it within half an hour!
I am going to take part in a recitation competition and I chose this poem. Your analysis and interpretation is very helpful and important to me. Thank you for your help and amazing work ❤
Mr. Webb. In stanza 2, line's 10 in my opinion I think that when the persona refers " Now I'm a lake. Correct me if am wrong but maybe because she's getting old she now has to put the mirror on the ground and look over it.
Interesting! But I believe that the stanza refers to the mirror that doesn't show her what she wants to see, so she tries to use the lake as an escape from reality. A lake is like moonlight or candle it does not show your true reflection.
Hello Mester ... I need a video about play " The Exception and The Rule " and I need what the meaning, theme, plot and characters .. And Thank you so much
Thank for this anlyze, it was the best one on youtube for this poem. Please, can you do an anlyze like this one for the poem "To Autumn" by "John Keats" ?
They definitely have thematic and tonal similarities. They are both very reflective, and both feature speakers who seem to judge themselves quite harshly.
Thanks for watching my lessons and making comments! Both the Higue and the woman in Mirror struggle with being accepted. The Higue struggles to be accepted by society, while the woman in Mirror cannot accept herself (because she is getting older and less beautiful). Both women end up suffering because of these problems.
