this was so refreshing and real - because i’ve been feeling so grey and miserable too, feels reassuring to know we’re just trying make it through each day ❤
You always share with such wit and grace, don’t worry about ‘complaining on the internet’. Echoing what others have already said, your content this past year has been so well done, there’s real perspective and mood, it feels like you’ve come into your own. So I hope you feel proud of yourself!
Don‘t worry about the "negative talk and energy" in the beginning of this vlog! You‘re human, and it actually feels nice, comforting and relatable of you sharing these days as well! Thank you love x
this potentially could turn out to be a very weird comment 😅 I just wanted to say that I am very jealous of your life in the best way possible :D Facial & Tiramisu in one day, I mean... And London and New York in one week. What I am trying to say here is just: I really really enjoy watching your content, grumpy or sunny. And I am not even going to start on how much I love your sense of aesthetics, interior or clothes. Thanks for sharing it and grumpy greetings from Berlin.
I don’t normally like to tell people what to do via the internet (especially if I don’t now them) but I use to have similar skin issues and 3 things changed the game: not wearing makeup (hard to do initially), a niacidimide serum (specifically The Ordinary), and only using scent free products (from The Ordinary and Cerave). Clay masks once a week didn’t hurt either. Love your vlogs and hope this helps!
I struggled with my skin for years and years, and I eventually finally was put on Roaccutane (a really low dose). For me, it was so worth it, it changed my life. As my dose was so low I didn’t have huge side effects. People have huge feelings about this medication, understandably, it is quite controversial. I used to think about my skin all day every day. Personally, I wish I had done it sooner, my experience of my early twenties would have been so different. Just something to think about. For me being in the medication was nowhere near as big and scary and intense as it is made out to be online. Lots of love Lizzie 💜💜💜
I second this. I went private to see a dermatologist and they put me straight on it (via the nhs). It’s an internal issue that topical stuff can’t fix.
I think we have similar skin struggles- I am 30 and started getting random spots in my late 20s and my skin is very very sensitive, it was actually made worse when I lived in London which I thought was due to the water (but really who can say). The thing that worked best for me was Skin Laundry! It’s in Oxford circus area, you pay a monthly fee and get weekly laser treatments. Made a huge difference in my skin. I’m sure you get lots of advice sent in, but just wanted to add this in case you haven’t looked into it
Accutane was the only thing that resolved my hormonal monthly acne after years of trying EVERYTHING. It’s so frustrating and I’m sorry. Also yes to the negative attitude…this winter has sucked ha!
Brideshead is actually based on Madresfield house in Malvern - Castle Howard is just where it was shot. The bust of the mother was found in the moat there after the family took their disgraced father’s side (who the book is based on) rather than their mother’s. My dad told me they recently found it in there hehe
Where was the tiramisu from? 😍 and I’m sorry to hear about your phone but so nice to see you focusing on the positives despite everything. Been a rocky past few months for myself as well but spring is definitely approaching the UK !!
10 minutes of complaining is minor, i am doing it in my head all the time. Loved the pictures you unwrapped at the beginning of your vlog i love your sheets cover on your bed did anyone else have to take a second look to see if you def did put the makeup brushes straight on the white cover haha. I'm glad you seem happy in New York. We used to wear shoes like your brown suede ones but in leather to school i think we called them pork pie shoes im saying i think because i might be wrong.
The only thing that keeps my hormonal acne at bay is Curology, the same as Skin & Me but in the US. I only ever have breakouts when I use other products, especially around my nose, mouth and chin. Sorry you’re dealing with it, bad skin always puts me in a bad mood too 😢
i once had some spots that wouldn't go exactly on my cheek like yours, and I figured out it was actually my facewash irritating my skin and once I stopped using it they healed up. Ironically I was using anti-acne facewash, which was the thing causing the acne. I felt scammed. But maybe think about using a more gentle soap? everyone's skin is different but overall I have the impression all the different skin care products can be a bit much sometimes.
My skin has been terrible since I was a teenager. Finally booked in to see a female specialist GP last week and immediately she said I likely have PCOS (had other symptoms). Everything clicked, can’t believe it took so long to be told that 🤦♀️
