Dani, we have a new competition this year - Miss Cosmo International (MCO) founded by Unicorp (former license holder of Miss Universe Vietnam from 2008 to 2022). Thanks for the recap Dani! Here's a fun fact: I had the chance of meeting Daniela (the eventual winner) while attending Maria Fernanda Aristizabal (MUC 22) crowning event two years ago. She was sitting next to me, and while holding her cellphone I could notice that her wallpaper was a picture of herself wearing the DIC crown (the one worn by Paulina, Pia and Iris). Back then she was unable to compete bc of age limit, but now that there is no age limit it is possible. I call it the Power of ✨ Manifestation ✨

Interesting. Last year’s winner is married and is a mother and this year’s winner can compete because there’s no more age limit.

I am ☺️☺️🫶 But mom didn’t teach me Spanish. She lost a lot of hers. My grandparents used to speak to me so I have some understanding but I’d love to speak.

Nitpick: It's nice to see that, just like Miss Universe PH, the contestants are still wearing the usual "Impact" font sash which is way more readable and visually appealing.

Re: how to say Valle...depends on your accent...people from Medellín and the departments around there, Antioquia, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, are known as paisas, and they pronounce "ll" like [dj], how we pronounce j in English, usually. The most common prounciation is like we say "y," vai-yay. But you would hear Colombians say both, depending on what their accent is. I have been to Cali, which is in Valle del Cauca, or Valle, but I can't recall what they actually say there.

Thanks Dani for showing us the Miss Universe Colombia pageant. Viewers from the US and Canada very rarely get to see these pageants. I love the vibe and the costumes. Let me say you speak Spanish very eloquently. I wish I knew how to speak Spanish. There are not a lot of Spanish speakers in Canada - it's more French.

Regarding the pronunciation of Valle, most Latin American countries pronounce the double l (ll) like the sound of the letter y so you would be right to do a soft “VaYe”. In Spain and Dominican Republic, we pronounce the double l more like the letter j so “VaJe”. Same imgoes for other double words like rain which is “lluvia”.

I loved the stage, but most of the girls didn’t train their body language, even the winner! She walked with the same smile from beginning to end in smimsuit and evening gown. Hopefully that changes at MU.

Bonjour Ma Belle Dani I am just getting back from my Daughter taking me out for Fathers day Dinner Sushi Anyways i did watch the live show of Miss Colombia During Gown the Guy singing he had a very Good Voice I knew right off the bat that Miss Valle was going to win she had the Look We know she is either going to be Miss Universe or even a runner up . Her neck piece reminds me of Miss Nigeria at Miss Universe 2001 and Miss World when she won same neck piece also Miss Mexico had a piece like that as well Like i said the Latina girls are coming to Fight not to play I just finished watching also Miss Universe Thailand Gala Show OMG check that out Merci pour cette video Dani

In Spanish, things were quite different. Risaralda's asnwer was repetitive and kind of too religious, Huila got nervous and did not deliver a coherent reply, Valle nailed it, her answer was confident and touching, Barranquilla went to the poin, but did not support her reply with content. They were given 1 minute to develop their ideas, just Valle took advantage of the time, she was the best: beauty, very good speaker, a life story, and with higher studies!

In Colombia and Venezuela, there’s incentive to enter pageants. Winning one or even placing could change one’s’ life. In other countries, why enter pageants when you can go straight into modeling or acting.

@@PungiFungi Miss Cosmo International (MCO) is a different pageant from Miss Cosmo World. It's founded by Unicorp (former license holder of Miss Universe Vietnam) since 2023. 2024 is the first edition of MCO. Miss Charm is a pageant of Elite (the new license holder of Miss Universe Vietnam since 2023). I don't know why they kept postponing their competition but I heard they want to focus on MUVN first.

All must be train in runway walk, others are stiff shouder, too much played and wave with the cape and so on , hope all girls train before the competition. The show is too boring hope next pageant there will be improvements. Congrats all 👍❤️
