It’s the same way here in ND. Elevators are still drying wet beans. Beans are covered up now as we are getting a foot of snow. There are thousands of acres of crop in fields. Mother Nature hasn’t been very nice this fall. Another big challenge again this year. Hope it warms up. Great video Nathan 👍👍

It's hard to describe to someone who "doesn't know" the sense of satisfaction and quiet elation farmers feel, every day during harvest. Yeah, there are days when things don't go well but even then I prefer it to any day working in the city. For those that work in city, that's okay, you're the 99%, and we're the 1% of the population.

Low voltage to your sensor could be corrosion at the ground for that sensor, or corrosion in the connectors along the harness.

Someone needs to invent a system that the combine can blow itself off by pushing a button from the cab lol 🤔
@tylertea1477
@tylertea1477 9 месяцев назад
Ivers Farms has something like that… their combine has an air compressor on it and they rigged up some pipes the blow off the neck..

Always a challenge to figure out how to improve a lagging field. Theories will abound. I am anticipating your experiments.

Nathan you are so open about cost for inputs and other issues, I would just like to ask about maintenance cost for the year ie. … oil changes parts and repairs for your machines. I understand if you don’t want to give those cost but am sure all of us non farmers would like to see how much it cost to put the food on our table.

Hi Nathan, regarding your historically low yields on this field of corn, why would you plant a 104 day hybrid on the 13th of April? Aren’t you giving up a lot of yield potential with such an early variety?
@stanbrow

Can you check the voltage supplied to the deck height sensor? My thinking is that if the voltage going to it is low, it's output voltage could be low as a result

No worries here there are photos of me driving a car on main st when I was about a yr old. Mom and dad would hold me in their lap and I would "drive". Actually I did a .lot of things when I was growing up that people moan about. We shot each other with BB's, we built bon fires, we rode on the back of dads truck,and we threw yard darts at each other.Hell we even had a few swallows of beer along the way

Nathan, do you eat deer meat? I don’t eat game meat I can’t get past the taste. That is a nasty thing the dead deer. Your uncle Phil is the man make sure you tell him that I wouldn’t touch that thing for money. Lol. The baby is get so big and talking time just flies. Nice video thanks Nathan.

Were do you haul to ? Montpelier ??? Surprised you can't deal with Waldron better. I know some bigger guys that deal with them. Glad things are going well. STAY SAFE !!!!
@BorderViewFarms

$.24 on beans and $.20 on corn better at Montpelier than Waldron right now. It was more.

How does the elevator handle different wet loads? Seems like their system has to be very robust to handle the different wet stuff coming through. Think about it, there could be ten loads at different wet levels all going into one wet bin, then the dryer has to dry the wet bin that has different wetness levels throughout the bin.
@BorderViewFarms
@BorderViewFarms 9 месяцев назад
They have multiple wet bins to segregate moisture ranges. So anything say 18 and under isn't actually going to get dried, just blended off, then they'll have a bin of 18-22 and 22+ or something like that.
