Yeah, it's definitely in the ears. And maybe hunching his back a little. His body language basically says "I don't know what's going on, but I don't like it."
Little known fact: John Woo's original version might have been 3.5 hours long, but it was actually the exact same cut as the final movie. It just had more slow motion.
Alright the “James replicates something from the movie” bit is absolute gold. I hope that becomes a mainstay in these videos. I’d watch it just for that.
Every time they add a bit on this show, I wonder how something so brilliant hasn’t been on this show before. James replicating something from the movie is hilarious and we’re all better for it.
Jacob Karley definitely! Sometimes it will take a couple of new accounts to get there so if you make a new account and chuck the video a like and that fact about Tom Cruises cousin still doesn’t show up just make another account and start again. You’ll find your fact eventually.
I can't believe you didn't mention Anthony Hopkins' best line: 'This isn't Mission: Difficult, it's Mission: Impossible. Difficult should be a walk in the park.'
As an Australian, I can fully agree with Mason and James that seeing a Holden Commodore, Ford Falcon and a Nissan Patrol (the car that my dad literally owns) in a blockbuster hollywood movie is just the oddest and most surreal thing ever.
I feel like cars stopped looking good in the 90s and early 2000s until motor companies finally took a good look at themselves and revamped body styles just in time for the first Transformers movie.
the 90s was the worst decade for American cars. the companies started to focus more on safety, and the cars became less exotic looking and less powerful (performance wise) to be affordable. this is one of the reasons why the Japanese turner cars were very famous in 90s and early 2000s.
I saw this as a young lad and I have to say... it changed my life. I had never seen anything that was so “cool” before. Obviously I can now see that it’s a lot sillier and dumbed down than the other Mission films but I’ll never understand the hate it gets.
That's a good thing, over the years I have grown to hate hearing ppls' (usually very wrong) opinions about the film as we're all leaving the cinema and have banned my friends doing it
@@TheFerretLives it's ok you shouldnt try to control people but I understand when I was leaving infinity war I heard some guy say "way to go doctor Seuss" refering to strange giving up the time stone and I wanted to say "idiot he saw the future and he had to do that pay attention moron!" But I didn't cause thatd be freaking rude 😁
Caravan of Garbage has been so good these past 8 months. It's easily my favorite series on RU-vid right now. Also, i'm really sorry your dog didn't appreciate the very definitely cool outfit and really definitely awesome cartwheel kick, James. I appreciated it!
I'm always keen for Australia's Own Mr. Sunday Movies to review a movie set in Australia's Own Sydney featuring Australia's Own Richard Roxburgh and Australia's Own Holden Automobiles.
I unironically love MI:II, as a 2000s kid it always hits me with some lovely nostalgia. It's beautifully photographed, epically scored and has some classic action scenes.
@@trexeon9563 I mean, he isn't wrong here. It is shot well and the action scenes are done well - you can criticize the story and pacing, but John Woo has a style that can't be denied and it is iconic.
I was sure the 'replicate something from the movie' was going to be James pulling off a mask to reveal it was Maso all along (because we all know it's just one guy doing two voices. You monstrous fraud. Na, y'all right).
Fun fact. When I saw this movie in theaters, they had spliced the reels together in the wrong order (reel 1, reel 3, reel 2, reel 4). It strangely didn't make the movie any worse, just a tad more confusing.
The entire time watching this video I was hoping the recreation was going to be James hitting Mason with a weird jump spinny kick. The reveal at the end was pretty great though haha
It took me years to get that nightmare inducing scene with the knife to the eyeball thing out of my head. And now you just reminded me it happened and even animated what it would look like if the knife slipped inside the eyeball just a bit and....uhhhhg I'll never sleep peacefully again thinking about it.
So when James says, "Everyone is going to love this", he actually means, "my wife is the only one who will love this and she will laugh her ass off". Got'him.
As cynical as James is on both podcasts, he seems like Stephen Colbert in that he's one of those guys who will just try to make his wife laugh and consider that a success. That's pretty sweet
What I love about CoG is that I can listen to just the audio, then I can watch the video, and I'll laugh both times at different parts. I know you two are a couple of funny fellas, but I really think that Ben needs more credit for his pinpoint comedic timing and imagery.
Literally nothing on the internet has deserved a like more than the grand finale in this video. Honestly the dog's reaction alone was priceless, the rest was just amazing😂
Petition for James to replicate the Tom Cruise Kremlin Run for Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. Let's take it a step further and hire a drone camera fly in front to track him while he's running for the full effect, or just have Mason film in the back of a ute mate.
The funniest inclusion of this video for me is the idea that Aussies separate their year into stuff like "racing season" like oh yeah it's racing season next up farming season then mini golf season. Gotta have some fun with the work or else what's the point of work
Who thinks James should replicate the Tom Cruise run from every movie? Hit that like button if you agree, hit that dislike button for disagree. We'll vote James to run lol
I didnt see this movie recently but back then seeing slow mo action scenes, smoke guns, fire, doves + epic hans zimmer music was a blast. The soundtrack is fantastic
Honestly this is my favorite of the franchise because the last hour is so absurd. Slow motion swooshing, Hair flipping all over the place, everyone is wearing sunglasses, cars and motorcycles are just exploding for no reason. It is peak.
I'm experiencing a very bad period in my life and you guys are part of the very few than can make me laugh sincerely. Thank You! Watching from Albania.
I know I’m not the only one but these videos make my week. 2 guys from Australia make a guy from Texas crack up with every caravan of garbage. I hope they never stop I love everything about it. The editing from their editor their banter like they’re just great really and if they end up seeing this U GUYS ARE AWESOME!
So..Australia's own weather conspired to prevent Dougray Scott from playing Wolverine, enabling Australia's own Hugh jackmasn to be a star. Conspiracy? I think we should be told btw; Australia's own plastic money has been copied by the motherland
Ben, thank you so much for rolling the theme song over the shot of the dog. Perfect. I was reading those stories as well about Thandie Newton. Tom Cruise's intensity would've been enough to deal with. She also said that John Woo just decided he wouldn't speak English. Seems like an odd choice when your cast speaks English.
This is hands down one of the best videos this channel has ever produced. I had to stop during the bit with the cars because I was crying And that fashion look.. I can't even. Kudos, James.
This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. - The concepts get ridiculous - The events are insane - The plot is a mixture of two plots that would work on their own (Finding and destroying a virus + Finding an antidote to the virus)
There was massive hype for this movie in summer 2000 and it worked as it was the highest grossing movie of 2000 worldwide. A breathtaking action film spectacular extravaganza. The best of all mission impossibles
I'm with James (?), I've not seen this film all the way through but I remember my brother owning it and all the marketing etc when I was about 10 years old and the MAIN thing i remember is Tom Cruise's hair and outfit during the rock climbing scene. The dressing up at the end. Definitely my next costume idea!
I saw this movie in theaters when I was 15. I was able to predict every subsequent mask reveal after the second. I also remember noticing Ethan Hunt’s luxurious hair.
@@speedwaynutt Glad to hear you're good. Unfortunately the UK has just had new restrictions put in place as cases as rising fast. Scotland's First Minister hopes to stop the R number rising to 5, which is full lockdown. I don't think this will be a good winter, mate.
I got my first car when this came out, and I went and saw it at the drive inn along with Mystery Men. And I agree, it was some very watered down John Woo action, but enjoyable for the time.
