In your next how - to video, how about an A-Z process of clear coating the metallics after decaling? That seems to be where the metallic look is lost with most metallic paints.
When I first started experimenting with Mission Models paint I had some problems with shooting the primer through my airbrush but I didn't have any problems with the regular MMP paints, however once I figured everything out these paints have now become my go-to paints. Over the years I have used every kind of model paint (including lacquers) and I have to say these are the BEST model paints I have ever used! Thank You and keep up the good work!
Awesome video! I’ve been waiting for awhile for this and it was well worth the wait. I can see uses for chrome over “natty” metal much like you P-51 paint mule. But instead of painting it on the upper surfaces only, doing differing layers of misted coats then polished when dry. Very interesting video!
Thanks for the demo, I'm getting ready to try this on a set of wheels. Just letting the gloss black dry first. I'll let you know how it goes, I'm looking forward to it. Thanks, have a great day. -David
One big: T-H-A-N-K-S ! In next videos I would like to see hints to preshading (maybe even postshading...). I am still bit struggeling with it...Thanks!
I love your videos and your paints. So awesome but real chrome is hard to get out of paint. looks good but not real chrome but then again your paints are awesome and simpel. One day I wil;l have only MMP paints
If you were to us a clear color (say red for example) over the chrome after it's cured, would it keep any of its reflective properties or would it just defuse into a silver base?
I’m kind of confused, I used this chrome for the first time a few days ago. I started with the black undercoat for the chrome and it went on good and I let it dry…maybe not for long enough (30-45min) and the chrome itself was very blotchy and almost bubbled when applied. I shook it for a decent amount of time, I tried different psi and it still ended up looking odd. I am probably going to just throw the part in some LA’s Totally Awesome and try again.
Thank you for a very helpful video series. I have purchased several Mission Model paints for experimenting and have been impressed with them. The chrome finish is amazing... Are all the metallic paints buffable?
Your very welcome and thank you for.your support. You can buff them but the chrome and up coming gold are the most buffable and they can also be wet sanded between coats
@@missionmodelsus3920 Would y'all consider painting a few Lexan RC bodies for this channel? I would love to see the chrome done in reverse order so that I can see the proper coverage on Lexan. Much appreciated!
