In today's video I run through my thoughts on the Mitas Sport Force + tyres I've had on the CBF1000 for a set. They lasted about 3500km, would have hit 4000km if I wanted them to, and overall have been a really great tyre!

Quite a few people asked me about these when I fitted them and how they'd handle over the winter months! Well I hope this answers your questions! Have you ever used Mitas before and would you give them a go now after I've used 2 sets of them? It does take a lot to trust a new tyre I find, trusting them with your life and all that :D

Good review man. I'll give the SPORT FORCE+ EV tyres a go now after listening to your opinion of them in the wet. Doesn't rain that much in Australia but sometimes you might get caught out and have to do a lot of miles in the wet to get home. The EV is a multi compound tyre so will probably give better mileage, not that I am overly concerned about mileage. I saw some reviews of idiots testing the speed rating on a freeway, so all good there - I'm not likely to be doing 300 kph for extended periods. LOL

Agreed, I was honestly surprised by just how good they were, I wasn't expecting that level of grip and feedback in the rain! Yeah 100 euro saved is a lot like!

Feedback, feel is key to me. There is no easy empirical measure. You want to feel they are gripping and get feedback on the road surface. I think you gave us a good balanced review on that. They sound good. Have to say I have never kept a record of tyre life. I have changed tyres when I don't like the way they feel, or when they are nearing the end of their life.

Me too, without it they could be the grippiest tyre in the world but you'll end up stiff and nervous in to corners and that's not good! Tyres are one of the hardest things to review in my opinion due to that, another rider with a different riding style may not get these to turn on properly for longer and might hate them. Thanks, I just try to cover the basics of how the tyres performed without getting too mad on stuff :D I only started really when I was making these videos, before it'd be more like, they need doing again they feel bad now like yourself :)

Thank you for the effort of making a great and honest video. I like it when a underdog product performs better than expected. I have tested a lot of tires in the last 5 years but not a single Mitas product unfortunately. My favorite (budget) underdog tire is the Metzler M5 interact. It performs great in cold and wet conditions and it's price sounds like a close call to the Sportforce+. What is your opinion?

Not at all, thanks for watching :) I was very pleasantly surprised by the two Mitas products I have tried and I'm on to another set of the Sport Forces currently. Sure if you get a chance, try a set :) I couldn't say as I haven't tried them but I'll certainly throw them on if I can at some stage to give them a go :)

Nice one. Might try these on my V4 Tuono. As I am on my 2nd pair of Super Corsas and although they are a great tyre. They only work in hot conditions and they cost a fortune. Going to try these as they are cheaper and should perform better in lower temps and wet conditions

That's the best part about them tbh, cheaper than the like of the super corsa, work in any weather I've thrown at them while still being serviceable at speed!

Think I have said it before the grip for me is the MOST important thing, and the Mitas Sports sound real good from what you are saying so when I eventually need tires I will give them a go .The choice out there these days is incredible and really until you have tried them ya just don't know unless like you have done by putting your thoughts out there for people to pick up on , always interesting , Also I am glad not to have seen Kasawaki's disgusting joke so I will remove myself forthwith : D cheers

Yeah it really is kind of foundation of any tyre for me, did they last only 500km but you didn't crash? Good tyre then eh :D Glad to hear you'll try them, let me know what you think :) Yes indeed, which is why I make my review videos and stuff tbh, these very well just might not suit someone because of the mileage they can do and if this videos helps them then great :) Hahaha he'll be along shortly I'm sure :D Thanks Malcolm!

When I used metzlezer tyres in the past I used to mix with a touring tyre on the back for mileage and a sporty more grip on the front and found that combination great that was when I was riding all year round and touring. I haven’t done that in a while. But I prefer a balance of grip and mileage. After a few bad experiences on cheap tyres on smaller bikes grip in the wet in Ireland more important than mileage.

I must try that at some stage, althought on the CBF I seem to wear the front as much as the back these days, suppose that means it might be balanced! A balance of grip and mileage is the job, once I'm finsihed trying everything I'd happily use the touring forces full time tbh! Yeah cheap tyres aren't something I'd ever risk, I know a load of fellas use mitas for dirt bike stuff so I said I'd give them a go originally and have loved them since.

You remind me so much of Seth Rogan the hollywood-actor. Thanks for the review. I wanted to get the touring forces but the time i had the money they where gone. Couldnt wait two more months because I rely on my bike for daily commute. Now because of your review I have just ordered them should be here tomorrow and I am very excited!

The touring forces are very good, but since trying the sport forces I've stuck with them, they wear very fast but they're great for grip and fun! Hope you like the tyres :)

@@TheGorillaBiker I do. Put them on Saturday evening and went for a ride in the mountains on Sunday. They are absolutely awesome! Maybe a little to much for my small beginner bike I think they really want to lean! Slow speed maneuvers are great and even after couple of short kilometers I have super grip on wet surfaces

Just bought 3rd pair. I like that tire. Very good. Only driving on dry road. 4000km with pair. On Gsxr 600 K3. And the price is 170€ in Croatia.😀

Some of that Scotland riding looked amazing....even some of the rainy parts...I don't think Scotland does "light" rain but IDK never been. Pushing hard in the wet....🤣🤣🤣 Ride her hard and park her wet. Sound like great tires. I to would prefer performance, grip and feel over longevity. When you can get a multi compound that does great mileage on top of the tire but performs great on the shoulder and edges. That's the best.

I'm trying to get time to sit down and put the trip video together :D It was an amazing trip :) Hahaha they seem to prefer the heavier stuff over there :) Hahaha indeed :P They have really impressed me man and I went in expecting something slightly less good due to the price :) Yeah it depends on the rider and we're definitely skewed more towards hooligan :D That's the dreamland isn't it :D Tyres are improving a crazy amount year after year :)

@@TheGorillaBiker I feel like my road trip vids are the hardest to edit just from the amount of footage you have to go through. It's really tough, takes a lot of time. It's gonna be hard to not get another set of Dunlop Q3+'s because they are just that good but I want to experience something else, even if it is a worse experience. The Busa comes with the S22's, I will probably do a video or two on them and compare them to the Q3+'s once I have some miles on them. Yup we are both hooligan's!!!

Ive been using battlax S21 theyre amazing tires but unfortunately they were out of stock, i got my hand on one of this for the rear, the price its also very competitive, ill give it a try👍👌

Be careful on the S21s as well even if they're in stock, they've been out of manufacture for a while I believe so anything stocked is likely old. I never had an issue with the sport force anyway, I wish I could get them near me here!

Other Multistrada riders recomended the touring force (that I just installed) and saw your other video, I was curious about the sport force but 4000km seems a bit short. Will decide if I try the sport after wearing the touring. Adios 🙂

Yeah and with the Multis power it'd probably wear even faster! I do always insert the caveat as well that I'm heavy and tend to ride a bit aggressively so you might see different wear :) The Touring force are great tyres too! Adios amigo!

Bought a FZ1 3 months ago, it have this tyre on the back, honestly never heard of it before, I had no issues so far, pretty happy with it, in some cases in the wet or gravel on the road or even bad pavement on the corners I could actually feel the tyre "dancing" a bit but like you said the feedback is amazing and detailed, I could feel what the tyre was doing and take more precautions. Wanted to know how many kms this tyre can do, so 4000 KM... seems a bit low that got me worried a bit, tyres for these bikes are not cheap.

Yeah the feedback from it was always lovely, I must find somewhere here that supplies them. Now, as I said, I change my tyres to what some might consider early, I also ride a bike a fair bit heavier than an FZ1 and I'm likely heavier than you. I also have a tendency to go pretty hard on tyres....so take all of that with a pinch of salt. That's how long they lasted me personally.

Hey did you ever tried the other EV and RS tires? I’m starting to look around for a replacement for my current Sport Force+ on a Yamaha FZ1S that I got 5 months ago and the tires came with some visible wear but no clue how many kms the previous owner did but I personally did around 3500km funny enough, from the look of the wear marks some of them are starting to wear out I would say there’s probably around 500km more since I don’t ride particularly fast all the time. It is my daily vehicle, so lots of city riding and stop lights, and the occasional run through mountain roads.

I never got a chance to before I moved country sorry!! I definitely would try them over here at some point once I find a supplier for them :) Honestly for the mix of riding you do I would personally stay with the stickier faster wearing tyres, but obviously your choice :) FZ1s are beasts so it's definitely nice having that glue there :D How have you liked the tyres?

@@TheGorillaBiker Yes, I never had any scary moments with the Sportforce+, maybe a little bit of slip on the wet but like you said the feedback is great and easy to feel when it is on the limit and when to back off, I just ordered the EV, going to have the tyre changed maybe tonight, it is probably safer that way also cheaper than the big brands tyres.

@@RMSx93 these months I have mostly been commuting daily, I’m almost 5000KM on this tyre and seems like there is not that much wear, I’m actually impressed, feels like there is probably at least 2000~4000Km left on the tyre, grip is great on the dry but on the wet/rain I had a couple of scares but always felt when it was starting to break traction and could save it so in the end nothing happened, just a scare and a lesson learned , probably my fault, I’m definitely more cautious on the rain now. Other than that I’m very impressed by this tyre, I do lots of traffic lights pulls on my FZ1S in first gear and never had the tyre break traction.

I've never fully gotten on with any bridgestones I've used yet tbh, the S22s I have on the GSXR are good but I dunno, never fully gelled with them, and I wouldn't put BT023s on one of my bikes again I don't think.

How would you compare those to the Michelin Road 5s? Been running those on my Versys for a while now and I find they're very reliable. More local riding, but I've taken it across state (close to 800 miles round trip). Rain, or sunshine. Cold weather, though not tested them with any snow or potential ice on the roads.

I couldn't compare them really as I've never used road 5s on this bike! I've heard both very good things and some bad things from some people! 800 miles round trip is a pretty good test :D I don't think any road biased tyre really works in icey conditions in my experience, and snow I avoid like the plague as I'm allergic to it :D

IMO MR5 sucks ass, had it in a Z900, hard feeling tire, not linear, developed a shoulder, I did not trust them. Then I tried Pirelli Angel 2, awesome tires but expensive. Then I tested Mitas TF and SF+ in the Z900 and really liked them, both are brilliant tires and now using Mitas (I now have SF+ in the rear and front, I have had a combination of TF in the rear and SF+ in the front also) in my TV4.

Interesting. Im yet to try them properly myself but am on my.third set of sport force +s as I really like them! I seem to wear the front and back evenly enough too so need to change them together. Which I also like!

@@TheGorillaBiker To me it's two in the rear per one in the front so I always order two rear and one front tire, I now have one rear tyre waiting. Accelerations are what eat the rear tyre and the more hp the bike has the faster the rear goes.

Yeah the cbf doesn't have huge power but it is heavy so eats the front on braking.

I guess it depends on what bike, for my RK I went with longevity with Commander 3, rear tire gave me 20K wonderful miles and 15 on the front. The Pan Am I will take more grip especially for off road and the same with the KLR. Putting 15-20k miles a year on a bike could get real expensive in tires if you went with soft grippy rubber.

Yeah very true, different bikes will be ridden differently and for different purposes. Longevity on a RK makes a huge amount of sense :) Very true, I did 10k miles in a year on the CBF, so call it 4 sets of tyres. Pricey enough really but I'd take it for the grip :) Really the Touring Forces would make more sense for me.

Also the country too I suppose, we have mainly windy crappy narrow roads which kinda call for grippier tyres! :)

@@TheGorillaBiker I'm lucky enough to live in an areas that has some roller coaster type roads but they are surrounded by gravel roads. We see a lot of loose gravel thrown on them by utv's and farmers. Can't always rip through them like I would prefer.

I'd much rather have grip and feel... but also need great wet grip too. On my Gixer, I'll go for grip and feel, probs not worry about wet grip too much as it is for sunny hooning and trackdays. My previous Street Triple was an all weather bike so got the best wet road tyres I could for it (which were absolutely fine on track in the dry too). I'll probs do the same on my V85 as that is an all year bike. My V7 has wider than stock tyres fitted as it looks nicer with them, and mileage isn't an issue, nor is wet performance. On my dirtybike, I'll most likely fit the best tyres I can for wet mud grip as that is what it is for! :-)

Me too! Yes indeed, not much good if they become super slippy in rain eh :) That makes sense, on all of them really. It just occurred to me how smart we are having all the bikes....we can have all different tyres on them too for different weather......now we both need to buy rain bikes :D But interesting to hear you kind of judge them all like me(my Magna being your V7 basically) which is why I wouldn't get long lived tyres for the Magna again! :) I need a dirtbike :'(

Hi buddy. Great real world review. I know tyre opinions are like A$$holes everyone has one. But seriously .... Michelin ROAD 5 are a blinding tyre. Im on over 8,000 kms on a 955i Speed Triple. Longevity is amazing and the dual compound works off the scale, soft and grippy on the outsides, made for the motorway in the middle. Just saying. If you ever decide to try them Im watching that vid. Or A smilier competitor for Road sport and touring, I think that's what most users are looking at? Take it easy and keep the vids coming top job.

Thanks! Haha the amount I get told how good they are I will eventually try them, the issue is the lead time to get them when I go to order new tyres and I always want to save over 100 euro. I also know a few people who ride similar to me who've said they can actually be a little slippy. Longevity always kind of comes behind grip and such for me :) But, I will try them eventually and of course make a video :D

Unfortunately, the grippier the tire, the less the longevity.

Yes indeed. They seem to be getting better, I think a return of 3500km for a sportsier tyre is pretty good, so hopefully it only keeps improving :)

Same exact things to say from here, although I've pushed them too far once. No warning whatsoever before the grip disappears completely (stupid lean angle) no worries on the road though.

I've done the same on S22s on track so I get that, I think any road biased tyre will meet it's limit at some point, the exact same failure mode too! Yeah on the road it'd be a good attempt to do it!!

Oh you'll be grand on mountain roads, I took these all over Scotland pretty fast on the cbf, and it was also loaded to the gills! I still have them on the cbf. Third set now :)

Longevity. I could afford another (possibly new) motorcycle in the amount of tire funds I'd burn through replacing them every 3,000 miles. That and I find it amusing to give you hell over your tire preferences (actually, just fun to give you hell in general).

Money is always an issue for normal people I think! That's also why I went for these however. I wanted sportier grippier tyres instead of touring focussed ones.

Fair, depends on the person! I usually do 500km week commuting and would still be going for these tbh. I like having the grip tho.

@@TheGorillaBiker As I said a couple of weeks ago, I’ve just bought the cbf, and it’s fitted with the roadtec 01s. When it comes time to change, it’ll be Bridgestone or Michelin road pilots, both of which I trust.

How are you finding the roadtecs now? Still think they're probably the best all round tyres I've ever used. Fair, I've for some reason never gotten on brilliantly with Bridgestone stuff but Michelin are great.

@@TheGorillaBiker The roadtecs won’t really get a fair shake, because the bike had only done about 250 miles in the last two years, so I’m sure that the tyres have probably suffered a bit. I’m kinda edgy about the wet grip, and leaning into corners, until I get used to them.
