@@hyderali1993 I don't know about current conversion costs but already converted ones are selling for 30-40 lac on pakwheels. Cheapest ones are the Evo 7 gta with the dsg automatic transmissions.

In my country there are thousands of normal lancers but less than ten original evolutions because taxes of cars more than 1.6 liters are more than 2x. So many people import evolutions as spare parts and rebuild their cars as you see in this video

lancer is front wheel drive and evo is all wheel drive, so they cut out the back section for the all wheel drive system

@@Testtestnotest ugh wrong. You obviously do not know anything about evos. While the basic architecture is shared, the rear subframe and floor must be changed to accommodate the awd system. You cannot just stick a differential on the rear and call it a day. Cutting the chassis at the back will save them more time and energy instead of grafting an evo panel to the stock chassis and cutting a hole on the floor pan since they won't need to have the geometry figured out which will add more complexity to the process thus their choice of cutting the chassis is a lot more effective.

I have a 04 lancer and had an evo 8. The base lancer is very stiff, and comparable to the evo. The only real difference is the evo has more spot welds in it. Very noticeable around the door under the weather stripping.

It's going to be a lot more expensive to convert a lancer to an Evo because the rear end needs to be converted. Your better off getting a Subaru Impreza and converting it to a WRX or STi because all Subarus are already AWD. Plus Subarus are like Legos, everything fits other Subarus without major modifications. I personally have an 05 WRX and it was more economical than buying a plain Impreza.
