Anyone wanting to do this: •Download a real-time chroma-keyer for your real-time VR headset camera •Place a green-screen that covers all of where you’ll be looking and behind the physical wheel •Load up game, use settings to remove in-game wheel and also integrate the chroma-keyer to remove green •Move the physical wheel until wheel fits perfectly over in-game wheel position •Enjoy

You’re missing the part with mounting a camera on the front of the VR headset, to record the hands/wheel/greenscreen before chroma. On paper it works, though I’ve got a feeling latency may be an issue with doing this real-time.

justin beamon Yeah, BMW was added to the game very early in the development and the sound was recorded using old tools and technology, these sounds should be updated ASAP. Difference between this and sound of the most recent cars is huge.

Well if you look closely you will notice that steering wheel and hands are green screened and not actual footage of the game, so what he has done is that he placed gopro camera on his head and played with vr headset and only put steering wheel and hands in video and that's why it looks so seamless

you're wrong uros Markovic. it's a new thing called mixed reality. it's not a green screen. mix reality is incoming very soon to VR and if i'm not mistaken, it's going to be in oculus quest but i'm not sure. If not in oculus quest, it's going to be on oculus rift in near future. no green screen bullshit. 30 people liked wtf lol

i took a few minuts to realise how they fuck he make that mix so good.Okay the hands and the wheel are reals, and the cockpit is from the game, but how the oculus or he center constantly the cockpit with the wheel? that must be oculus job, but nice feature! becouse when i try oculus i saw everything 3d, including hands and wheel so... Awesome!

Espi nete The camera is attached on his head, so it follows the same movements that the oculus makes when he turns his head. Because they move the same way, they stay aligned the same way the whole time.

the green screen set up is bang on man . its totally believable . helps show how good vr sims are . i plan the same with my flight chair for elite . nobody wants to see a g29 wheel lol.

I like this... not all the shaky-ness like in some other vids. I think it would be awesome to have more "tracks" like this, where you're not racing, just going for a long drive and admiring the scenery. Plus have the option to spectate from the cabin during a replay.

the bmw's were added really early into the game and they should have been updated ages ago. new cars sound pretty good, and a few are absolutely amazing like the alfa 33 stradale

What makes me more immersed in car games is the sound. I love Code Masters sounds, even GRID Autosport in my phone gives me more enjoyment just because the sounds, than other new gen games

Marcelo Albuja Codemasters and Sector3 is the absolut kings of sound! The onboard details is simply stunning when they make sounds! Take a look at the video on YT where Codemasters made the sounds for DiRT 4. (Even this simcade by CM have better sounds than the sims)
