Her parents sheltered and spoiled her into becoming what she is. If they failed to raise her properly, she could from now on only be scared and shamed into good behavior with legal sentences. But that level of entitlement, whether innate or put into her head by her incompetent parents, could never be wiped out, I'm afraid. But I agree with Dr. Grande that she's not going to have an easy life from now on. Everybody knows her face and name, this case is going to haunt her for the rest of her life, perhaps even if her character improves. I wouldn't be surprised, if she decided to change her name later. It's not narcissism. I've known people like her in the past. Their issues are they have a lot of moral flaws and qualities that are not appealing to most people. They did not do well in school. They are generally lazy. They don't have any goals in life. They are generally sociably negative people and can never find anything good to say about anything or anyone. And they know this about themselves. When they go out into the world, they go out with a very fragile and delicate mask on. Joggers and bike riders make her angry because she's too lazy to ride a bicycle and too lazy to jog. The friendly restaurant hostess makes her angry because she's doesn't know how to be friendly like the hostess. Her lawyer makes her angry because she's too stupid to go to college and become a lawyer. The world is a mirror that reflects her reflection right back at her to see, and she doesn't like what she sees.

She hired a hitman to kill her husband, was caught on film haggling with the hitman, then called her husband from prison demanding he drop the charges, trying to gaslight him into trusting her and not his lying eyes & ears when she knew he saw the recordings of her talking about how she wanted him murdered. Her husband kept bringing up he heard what she said on those videos and she never changed her story. It was always “You don’t understand” and “I didn’t do anything”, or “Why are you doing this to ME?” She couldn’t process being unable to use her status as a young and attractive woman to bend men to her will. Exactly, and I am woman. I am well aware that females are typically the victim, but this is one of those cases where if you reversed the roles, a 22 year old man tackling a 14 year old girl...people would be clamoring to put him away. The victim was a kid who acted like a kid, his defender was a parent who acted like a parent, the assailant was a grown woman who acted like a violent child, and my gut instinct is telling me that if this had been a white kid things would have been different and no one would know about this story.

She may indeed be a racist - but here's the thing: Narcissists - generally aren't necessarily racist, even though they'll use racist terms. When they're in "combat" - their goal is to hurt. So they'll pick through a list of insults in their heads, and try them out, one by one. They study the victim's reaction. When an insult hits - they'll repeat it. Racist terms will be used on minorities just because obviously - they hurt. Bad. But make no mistake - they're that cruel to everyone. I say this - because I hope this gives "armor" against their taunts. One you realize that a narcissist (Aka a Karen,) is merely choosing the worst insults they can think of off the top of their heads: It doesn't really hurt. In fact their ridiculous insults can start to be something you can laugh at. This is the way I've had to deal with narcs. I became immune to their taunts.

The youngsters got used to having their way in everything from early childhood. You have a toddler, you absolutely have to put down some boundaries already from that young age. You've got to teach your kids how to be a human being, and start early! My beliefe is as follows: It is unhealthy for a child to never see his/her parents angry. I don't say you should beat your child, or punish them too hard, but they should get to see you get mad sometimes, when they do something wrong. It's not a bad thing. It teaches them that some kinds of behaviour is not to be accepted.

I keep hearing “she’s Puerto Rican” okay...what does that have to do with this? Being Puerto Rican’s can be white or black. You just have to be born there, it’s a nationality, not a race. 💡

Poncetto is using the fact that she is hispanic as a reason for her not attacking the kid based on his race. She's saying she's incapable of being racist.

@brentstudamire7798 3 года назад
@@pamelapeters3342 Which is a BS argument because Hispanic isn't a race, but rather an ethnic group based on linguistics. One can be a White Hispanic(ancestors are from Spain and didn't procreate much or at all with the Indigenous population or the descendants of the black slaves who were brought to some parts of Latin America), or a Black Hispanic, or an Indigenous Hispanic, or a mestizo Hispanic(mixed race).

Hopefully by now she's progressed and evolved. At the time of this interview, she was minimizing her actions, didn't take seriously enough/take responsibility for the assault part which traumatized a young teenager and didn't realize/ acknowledge her probable racial bias which adds pain for the victim and his family. For full analysis, I think a couple of things need to be taken into consideration (not to excuse her behavior of course, just to enlighten): EVERYONE, PostCovid, has a certain amount of PTSD : life as we all know it ended (some suffered disastrous consequences), everyone's mental health is stressed to the max not just from perpetual fear/anxiety but also bc our ability to socialize/connect to our neighbor has been ended and our sense of reality and connection to the world is even more dependent on our phones. The media doesn't cover this topic enough, not seeing people's smiles amid maskville, not being able to touch hug be nearer people, learning to distrust you neighbor, is more devastating than we realize. The potential to freak out over losing a phone is much higher postCovid. People with PTSD have big reactions to small things, and if she possibly were under the influence as well, add that to the mix as well. So it's not just "oh anxiety doesn't cause assault" like this doctor glibly said, which was such an obvious point, why even say that. Kind of disappointed an expert would miss commenting on this more comprehensively, he's the expert, and he's supposed to take this gravely and not make snide jokes. She's going to need to atone for and learn from those actions, but she's still a young person and he's a doctor. That last comment too, she's not a TERROR

Following her logic about being traumatized while clearly causing it, there will be killers very soon that will need therapy alongside the victim's family to get over trauma (that they have caused). "There appears to be arrogance" is an understatement in my opinion. Thank you for the video, Dr. Grande!

To be fair, most murderers or prisoners in general have mental health issues. The truth is that we would probably have a lot less murderers in society if mental health issues were being treated properly..
@steve_the_first
@steve_the_first 3 года назад
@@nicoleowens2318 It depends. If we argue that everyone who’s ever killed has some degree of mental deformity, no one would be found fit to stand trial, not to mention people who had an obligation or the necessity to take a life (as part of their job). I think it’s more complicated to distinguish than saying that everyone who landed in prison or jail had some kind of mental illness. Insurance fraud, DUI-s, a miscalculated burglary that turned into a home invasion, and other charges like these could land someone in prison for years if not for life, yet I don’t believe that the cause of their actions were their mental problems.
@nicoleowens2318
@nicoleowens2318 3 года назад
@@steve_the_first I hear ya. I would argue, would people be acting criminally or recklessly if they weren't mentally ill in some way? Poverty causes mental illness, that's something social scientists understand pretty well. Lack of parental guidance, growing up in dangerous neighborhoods, food insecurity, these all affect mental health too. Those that drink too much or do drugs, have sexual disorder, the list goes on. I'm not saying there should be no one that is accountable, all I'm saying is that prisons are run for private profit and that incentivises a lot of the arrests in the first place, as the prison lobbyists pay off justices and police departments to fill their prisons. I'm saying if we put money instead into mental health help and rehabilitation, instead of throwing everyone (especially nonviolent offenders) in prison, there would be much less recidivism or criminality leaking back onto the streets. A nonviolent offender will likely only become more criminal after incarceration, which is the opposite of what we want. There should only be room for the violent in prisons, and even then I think it needs to be treated differently. A lot of people seek punishment when intervention and rehabilitation are possible for many people. You can see it in some European countries, the better they treat them the more likely they are to do things differently later. A lot of these prisoners have been abused or had no guidance all of their lives, they are essentially, mentally, messed up kids. They have often never had compassion a day in their lives, and that leads to changes in the brain that sets these people apart, also something science can prove. We wouldn't expect a feral cat to act like one raised in a home, right? If you haven't seen the level of abuse and neglect in inner cities or don't study psych that might sound ridiculous to you, but it's true. Touch and eye contact are crucial for babies, attention and validation are really important to children. Do all people without these things murder? Of course not. But neither do all people outside of prison respond the same. It's a complicated mix of brain chemistry and nurturing. Some might become abusive themselves, some might become the abused, but no one really comes out unharmed. I just wish we would take this into consideration as much as profits of prisons when making legislation that deals with crime. I could understand if there was no evidence elsewhere that more humane prisons have more beneficial outcomes, but there is proof that many can be reformed, even violent ones. Instead in America we let greed and corruption rule 😕
