Would be interesting to see these compared against the new Wilson Staff CB & blade. Picked up an older set of FG Tour 100 and those fit my game great with the higher/weaker lofts compared to the players distance irons
I just got fitted for these today (one of the first in Australia) they bombbbb, they feel pure, I haven’t played competitive golf in over 8 years and coming back I had to try something fresh, can’t wait to get them in the bay, for reference I was hitting 7i about 190 yards carry, 245’s are the go!!
I’m a +2 handicap and I still can’t believe how good both of your dispersions are in these videos. Absolutely put me to shame with ballstriking 😂 well done gents.
Even if I don’t get to get fit, I’m hoping to come to TO just to see you guys. Dinner and drinks is still on me. I went to the F1 race last June, but TO it is for this year.
I just got fitted for the 243’s and with my fitter at club champion in the states we had a tough time combo setting with the 245’s. But in the end the 243’s beat out the 245’s but it was minimal. Mizuno irons were amazing this year.
Comment on the lofts / gapping / speeds is interesting. Picked up some 919 Forged to mess about with… the whole progression looks a lot easier 7-6-5-4.
i just recently bought used 919 tours for 300bux, and they have been phenomenal. looking at these, they certainly could be some amazing clubs when i can get them for under 500bux in 5 years lol
Hi guys!! Performance wise would you guys still lean more towards the Titleist T150 over the Mizuno 245? Is the Mizuno 245 more forgiving than the T150? More like the T200? I would love to see a head to head with the 245 and T150!! Thanks, Joe
Used MP245 since last november, I’m lucky enough since it launched way early then the rest of the world in Indonesia, but there’s no review whatsoever back then, considered 225 as well but end up using 245 and it felt really good so far, after seeing this reviews, i think i made the right choice..
I hit T200’s and MP245, went for 245’s because performance close, but could tell exactly where I hit 245’s on the face. Assuming T150’s would be less forgiving.
Just got fitted for these today and I have ended up with the 243s. After watching this video I went in expecting to come away with the 245s but they just looked chunky to me. Got my handicap down to 5 last year so maybe the more players feel of the 243 leaned me towards them.
243 v Blueprint S would be interesting. I have always loved the Mizuno Pro/MP range of irons but I play Ping at moment. If I were to replace my beloved i210s, 243 & Blueprint S would be top of my list
I bought my Callaway Epic Forged irons a few years back based on your review. I’ve been wanting to upgrade and I think the Mizuno Pro 245’s will be my next set! Thank you as always for such great reviews!
Got fit today and ended up with the 243s, I was a shocked. I’m a 10 handicap and never would’ve hit them if the fitter didn’t put it in my hand. Every aspect of 243 was better for me than 245, t150, ZX5 etc. I get too much shaft lean and the 243s helped with height, spin and descent angle. Another example of go get fit and go in with an open mind!
I’ve been a mizuno blade player for 30 years. I actually play a set of TP-9’s that I just love. I got a set of Callaway TCB’s last year and I just keep putting the mizuno’s back in the bag. I’m not playing as much anymore but must check out these 243/245’s. Something about mizuno’s for me. How do these compare to the JPX Tour?
Always a shame that they leave out lefty options, in the 243 this year. I wouldn't want a full set of 241 or 245, and couldn't blend between them either. It just makes you look elsewhere.
i want a combo set of these 2 so badly - like split it at the 6/7 iron and perhaps knock the loft down 1 deg if the 245s make too much distance where the split happens.
I find the iron reviews far more interesting than the endless 'farther/faster/friendlier than ever before' rhetoric surrounding 'new driver technology'.
These clubs could save you thousands of dollars! 225 4 iron… sell that $1,000 carbon driver! Just a slim Sunday bag with a strong hybrid, 4, 6, 8, Pw, Sw and a putter… 6 club challenge champion… who’s getting those heart healthy steps in walking too!! ❤🔥❤
Really struggling to pick between 245s or 243s tried hmp’s just couldn’t hold a green or consistent distance Currently using t150’s which are good but I do like Mizuno irons. Any help would be much appreciated Ps 7 iron ss 81/82mph.
I’m probably an oddity but I actually play the 221s and my game is like a 20 hcp. Oddly every time I try the 223 they feel bad to me and for some reason the 225 go the same distance as the 221 for me but they have lower spin and a lower landing angle.
Im scared of the 245. I know you can bend but I hit the 7i and reached over 200 yards. The gapping seems like it will be so wide. Currently playing 921 tour and need more forgiveness in 4,5,6. Might be good with 243 all the way through but no fitters around me fit with more than the 7 iron which is so frustrating.
Which are better? Mizuno 243 or PXG 0311 Gen6 P. I’m a 3 handicap looking to upgrade? Need help getting the ball up with the low irons and tend to like a soft feeling iron the best. Thanks.
@@TrevorDandy.. I could be wrong, but it seems that since 01-01-2024, all of the “Mizuno Corp” marketing content has been done by a guy named David Llewelyn. Like maybe there’s been a corp shake up.? Hope not!
@@CA-sl2xwVosh is the product lead. I don't know why they let the marketing guy do those videos. One of the things I like most about Mizuno is that they let Vosh talk.
This is a disaster....I have 225's and really like them......but looks like I'll be massively tempted to upgrade to the 245's 😁 Great job Mizuno and great review guys! Wish I could get to Toronto to have you guys fit them for me.
Checks balance on the "wife doesn't know about this one" credit card then books iron fitting with YYC Tim. I swear I dreamed about 245's last night. So wrong but this is happening.
I would have gotten the older 223s but the gapping was bad from the wedges to the mid irons was way off. I remember you had to bend a few stronger when you reviewed them
With that 4 iron carry for Mikey, what would be your next two clubs before driver? I hit my 4 iron roughly 210 and currently hit anything else (hybrid, 7 wood, 5 wood) like 235+. I carry 3 iron into 3 wood currently, but have though about keeping 3 iron at 220 yard and just carrying a 5 wood with a 250 max carry.
Have mizuno employed a good amount of offset for a long time now? I played MP30s when I started playing forged. But recently tried to put a combo set of MP18s and after playing Blueprints, Miura and Titleist 681s. The difference was stark and I pulled everything in the short irons. Genuine question. Have they always been higher offset than other blades?
I feel a little more confused about Mizuno’s iron selections now. How does the JPX Tour/Forged compared to the MP 241/243? They blend so closely that I’m not even sure how they differentiate in performance or who they are target at. Can anyone help explain?
Google Maltby Playability Factor. He measures COG from side to side, top to bottom and front to back. Those ratings are standard across all clubs and manufacturers. BTW, the 223 are rated higher than 225 and JPX Tour. IMHO, the T Zoid Pro was the best overall iron ever and the 223 are closest Mizuno since.
I have 225s and it took a lot of work to get the gaps right. 4-7 is fully hollow body and 8-PW is semi hollow body and GW is more blade/wedge like. The 7 to 8 has a large gap because hollow body is slightly hotter, the PW feels great but isn’t as hot, and GW isn’t hot enough. Just raising for awareness because everyone I know that plays, including myself, these needs to dial in the gaps to be effective with them.
Same issue with the 923 Forged. It's nice that manufacturers are trying to combo within a single set, but the gapping is becoming an issue with different face metals and tech throughout the irons.
@atbear so 4-7 is one type of metal, hollow, with tungsten, the 8 is same metal and hollow but no tungsten, then 9-G is different metal, not hollow, no tungsten but channel. Sheesh.
Have you guys noticed in significant difference between the 221 and 241? Mizuno seems to claiming they’ve somehow improved the blades as well? Probably just all in the looks right?
Great test lads, love to see soon to be onetenMike hit the 245, i got the first hollow PM20 HMB, a will indeed look at the 245 now. And around 4 years circle fore new irons might be the number. Do you still do online fitting Ian ? I don’t have stores like yours in Denmark 😢
