That is incredible that MJ studied different types of movements and implemented them into his dancing. Wow! That's the difference between him and the rest... it's characteristics and traits like this, that truly showcases MJ was made from a different cloth than the rest! Hmmm, that explains her facial expressions. It was weird, too. Because at first she was smiling and applauding him, then after "You Are Not Alone" it completely changed. I can see why now. I don't know, but "You Are Not Alone" just hits me different from almost any of his songs. It's almost like my kryptonite haha! The sense of loss streams out too much with this song. The trumpets at the start really dig deep as well. I'm so happy that MJ's soul has truly connected us all. In a way, his dream of connecting and uniting people came into fruition. Totally agree! This performance is what legends are made of. Showcasing his evolution throughout the decades. It's pure perfection! Pure artistry! The whole Slash guitar sequence was arranged to be performed like that. While Slash is playing it gave Michael time to also make a quick small costume change and then go behind the white curtain to prepare for Billie Jean. There is nothing on that stage that was not thought through to the tee and rehearsed. Remember Michael is a perfectionist:)

Hi, thank you guys so much for this! I’ve been watching you for awhile but keep forgetting to comment lol! Anyway, I sincerely appreciate you guys understanding Michael as a person, and appreciative of his music and performances. I’ve been a huge fan (or whatever the word bigger than fan is 🤣) since 2009. Long story short, I never knew him when I was a child because I was born in 1999 and my parents never listened to him. When he passed away and he was all over the news etc, his short films were everywhere and I was enthralled! I not too long after looked him up and researched so many things about that wonderful man and fell in love! I feel like I always think I know everything about Michael at this point in 2022, but there’s always something new I learn lol! Side note: I think I fell in love with him as a person because he was just so full of love and kindness. All he wanted to do was make the world a better place, stop all of the negative things that went on and are still happening now. I felt like I could relate to that so deeply, plus I could relate to his kinda shy personality. All he wanted was peace but everyone else wanted war. @@honey.brown.nerdrealm Honestly, I think I went through the same process as Blenda has when I started listening properly to Michaels music, and alot of the songs i remember being aware of as a kid, but not really fully appreciating them, suddenly took on a whole new level and they, as you say, knocked me out cold and I was hooked. I still am lol. Michael did always say if you really wanted to get to know him then listen to his songs, and its totally true cos he is remarkably honest and wears his heart on his sleeve in his music. By the way, on the Lisa Marie/ you are not alone situation - I dont know the full details of this, but i believe that they were having problems at this point in their marriage, and michael had taken off somewhere for several weeks (where or why, who knows), and didnt contact Lisa. The VMAs was the first time she'd seen him in weeks, and she was pissed at him (rightly in my opinion cos, as much a i love him, it was a shitty thing for him to do even if they were having problems). And I dont think 'You are not alone' is exclusively about Lisa - the song was written by R Kelly and the lyrics are more bittersweet than an all out love song, so ive never been convinced its about her. Its never been my favourite song, but the VMA performance has warmed me more to the song over the years and I like the song more than I used to.

In the interviews...from when Michael was younger and later years, Ms. Jackson talks about his talents from the time Michael was a baby the things he would do for her to noticed he was special. Ms. Jackson shared her experience while she was pregnant with Michael. Both of you would enjoy Mrs. Jackson...stories about Michael. She also shared how Michael could master anything at a very young age and how he would master it until it was perfect.

Your comments and reactions are so sweet and to hear your thoughts and your memories of how you watched Brown - that's so special - I watched back then the 95 awards show - he mesmorized us then and still does now. MJ's performance is just spectacular with so many changes between songs and you can see how exhausted he is before Dangerous - but still he is charged with the love of his fans cheering him on. MJ never disappoints. Yes Slash is funny - he did that too on MTV 10th Anniversary and again on MJ and Friends concerts but Michael always graciously thanks and compliments his playing. Yes I agree Lisa Marie was not happy with MJ - still married they were separated for a while before this show. I think she honestly was proud of his performances - she did love him in spite of their differences- there was chemistry and MJ was not shy to show he loved her - that look he gives her when he points at her trying to get a smile from her - You can't help but love him. Dangerous performance is amazing... I'm glued to MJ's every move too. Michael and Janet won 3 awards that night for Scream (Best Dance Video, Best Choreography and Best Art Direction - it was nominated in 9 categories - I really think MJ and Janet deserved more.) I totally enjoyed watching again with you guys and hearing your comments - Honey I cry with that song too. It is a lullaby to me many times when I try to relax and MJ's voice lulls me to sleep :-) :-) So nice to hear it over and over - its intoxicating. Of course Michael Jackson was one for the theatrics and Slash was down to play along. It was planned of course but that doesn’t take away from immense talent from both. Slash with guns and roses which my mom raised me on and Michael Jackson I discovered myself. Great performance. Everyone loves to cover it. PS- it was on the HIStory vol.2 vhs. I know because I rented it so many times I saved up money to buy the vhs.

Wow excellent reaction as always. So what can be said about this performance? He had been off the scene for a while and most of the press had said he was over etc (after 93) but 'You are not Alone' goes straight in at number one in most countries. So cue the excitement around this show. The crowd, although not as manic as normal are still thrilled to see MJ and he doesn't disappoint. As with all his shows and awards he ALWAYS gets a standing ovation and that's from his peers too. Notice the Dangerous segment...notice his dancers and then notice him. He moves quicker, tighter and more fluid. He was 37 and he was making Pro's look average. Always go down in history as the greatest performance, even though I also like his 93 performance of Dangerous. This kinda kick started the whole anticipation of History world tour.

This performance is amazing, and doing medleys like he did in this performance and especially when he did it at the Superbowl was actually not common around that time. So even there he pioneered. I just can't wait for you guys to do more reactions to his performances, tbh. Especially around and during the Bad era, since he also did pretty much everything live and the energy was next level. O and that ''fight'' with Slash was just part of the performances so that MJ had time to change into his other outfit and could prepare for Billie Jean.

Happy birthday Michael. Such a kind human being who has inspired so many of us. And just the G.O.A.T in everything he did. Humatarian, the greatest music artist and a just a wonderful human being. This performance is indeed legendary, it's still considered the greatest MTV VMA Performance. During his Dangerous performance he included some lyrics from Janet's song, which was so nice. And you could see how proud of him she was. He also performed Scream in the medley and that same night he won with Janet an award for the song. Btw, would love to see you guys react to Grammy Legends Awards 1993 where Janet presents him the award. Their interaction on stage was so cute and Michael's speech after is amazing. Would love to see a reaction to that. Also, the "fight" with Slash is staged and they did it multiple times when they performed together. They were great friends and worked on a couple of songs in that decade. Regarding Lisa, they had a fight at the time and then Michael ghosted her for a couple of weeks before this performance. So it's understandable why she was upset. Even after they divorced they were still on and off. There's actually a video on youtube in 1997 (2 years after their divorce if I'm not mistaken) when they went to South Africa together and acted like a family. Very nice video, about 30 minutes long. MTV did Michael dirty, in the 2000s when they gave him a fake award, when in the last 20 years, Michael is the one who made them so big. He was also the first black artist to have his videos on MTV and that opened the door for other black artists. He was so big and influencial at that time. He was voted the most famous person in the world. There was also an award named after him (Michael Jackson vanguard award) known also as Lifetime achievement award. Everything is just on-point and flawless. The fluidity and rawness of his moves... pure in awe!!! The way Michael commands the stage is like no other and will NEVER be duplicated. Oh for sure! We will definitely react to more of his live performances. I feel they add so much more life and soul to his songs. MJ is truly a timeless presence. Doesn't matter what era you're watching him, he still will always stand above all other performers. It's incredible! MJ was definitely built differently from the rest. Michael Jackson was the first black artist that was allowed on MTV, and at the time they had to be forced to put his videos on by his record label or they would pull all their other white rock artists. This was an epic performance and I don't want to take anything away from this wonderful moment but MTV and a lot of the artist at the time ( white rock artist ) had a lot of hate for him at the time.

I don't really believed she loved him as much as he loved her. After she left Michael, she did have a child with someone else! Plus because of who her father was, I believe she was scared of the fans. What they would say or think. Personally, I am not a fan of Elvis, I was at one time. When I was younger and didn't really understand, what the truth was about his music. Don't get me wrong, he had an amazing voice! However his songs were not written my him, some were taken from other black artists or his writer would do it for him and had never gotten the credit! Sorry... right at that moment just seeing her face just set me off! Sorry guys, I know this is about Michael, I just wanted to give you some facts, and one more thing. A lot of people will Never admit that Michael not just as a solo performer, J5 and the Jacksons have destroyed Elvis records! Anyway, Michael loved his fans with all his ❤. First of all... i need to say i love MJ and LMP together with. they such a great couple ❤ and i truly believe at the time they were fall in love each other So I can say i had been read, watched, listened, research all of them (kind of a big fans of they both 😂) And i can remember LMP give interview for rolling stone in 2003 and they asked her why were you glaring at him? She said "Because I hadn’t seen him, or heard from him, in six weeks. He got upset and he would just disappear.” She says that after about a month without any contact, his people started calling, saying that it was important that she show up at the MTV Video Music Awards. She agreed to show up if she didn’t have to go down the red carpet; they consented, then led her down it anyway. “I was pissed. I just felt like I was being used at that point.” She was then told that he was going to sing to her and that he had a surprise for her. “I remember my whole look was: ‘Don’t you come anywhere fucking near me - we haven’t spoken in a month.’ And he got it. He didn’t come over. I talked to him later and he said, ‘I saw the look on your face, and I knew that if I walked up to you, I didn’t know what you were going to do me.'” At the time her thought is "he used me" She also said in Oprah's interview 2010 that even after divorce they still continued relationship for 4 years ! Not only had they not spoken, but Lisa Marie also didn't know where Michael was for about six weeks before this performance. They were having problems in their marriage at that time and eventually divorced not long after. She still showed up to support him even though she gave Michael the evil eye after You Are Not Alone because when you think about it, she was alone for about six weeks...lol. As you get older, you become different. As the Bible says: when you become a man, you put away childish things. However it doesn't mean to not play sometimes. As you get older your think becomes different, you see things from a grown up perspective! With Michael he always challenged us to see things more broadly! JESUS told us to be like little children in the way we see and act or react to others. Children at least most children love without borders, love without fear, and love without see the outward appearance! That is why I love Michael, he remained true to that scripture until his death! We all need to take a piece of that with us, no matter where we go or what we do! Loving each other is always in style!!!!
Couldn't agree more! Our perspective change as we grow older (whether for the good or bad). When we are children, we tend to love first and think about it later. But, as we grow older, we start to see the world for what it truly is. And we lose that sense of genuine love. But, MJ kept that innocent love right up to his death. And it truly was such a blessing to have MJ in our lives. At least when we listened to his music or watched his videos, for a small window of time, we were able to escape the harshness of the world and just be lost in MJ's Neverland.
