It's going to be the topic forever because Skip Bayless doesn't know sports. He has a handful of favorite athletes that he will defend with some of the dumbest arguments and create the most asinine rhetoric (that people will blondly follow) but he doesn't know anything about sports. That's why when Shannon asked him a direct question related to something that happened in sports that will discredit his argument he ignores or immediately changes the subject. That's why at least once per show hes going to say "I had the privilege of covering one Michael Jeffrey Jordan as a writer in Chicago I know because I was there". So because he doesn't know sports Shannon is stuck having the same conversation with skip day in and day out.

Thomas Sankara as I said it’s a team game bro my comment says that I give lebron a pass for losing because his firepower was next to nonexistent but nobody keeps that same energy with Jordan when he went against the bucks who were a top defensive team then lost to the best Celtics team that ever existed but dropped 63 on all five of their starters but he was alone in those years. But 84-85 he may have had a trash record but still led them to the playoffs granted it was in the east. Same the next year but as they say beat who’s in front of you but if I’m missing something here that season without Jordan they were on track to miss the playoffs badly but with him inserted back in (on minute restrictions) he took them to the playoffs. We can both say this and say that but both of these guys teams were terrible without them due to terrible front offices so on and so forth. But also when lebron got two all stars he won two chips when he guaranteed 8, terry in 2011, refused to take charge on offense only had 8 points in a critical part of the series etc etc. also when Scottie pippen was the only other all star on his roster they three peated so what’s your point that Jordan couldn’t win alone?
@devontaelafleur3841
@devontaelafleur3841 4 года назад
Thomas Sankara lets keep it a buck he wasn’t beating the 59 win Milwaukee bucks team who were i think top five in defense that year with nobody stop underrating the team to. 1987 again the Celtics with four hall of famers on that roster and he dropped 35 ppg on 41% and Charles Oakley was his second best player with 15. so if you wanna play that game lebron couldn’t win more than 2 chips with a stacked team once pippen matured and was able to help they three peated. Also what was in Jordan’s path the Celtics bad boys and that bucks team who were some of the best of the decade. That finals run was against a pistons team with no Ben Wallace who was their rock in the paint and a weak nets and wizards team this lack of great competition showed once he reached the finals he got swept.

Greatness is measured by performing at the highest level on the biggest stage. No ifs and no buts. Plain and simple. And the biggest stage is the NBA Finals, wherein, you just have to completely outdo your opponents no matter who they are and what they do in order to win that stage. Jordan had been in the finals, and in every single time, he handled all the pressure, take on the responsibility and overtook all of his opponents. Lebron had also been in the finals, but he didn't show at all times the needed attitude and mindset in order to win completely. The thing is.. both have faced obstacles in the finals. And only MJ showed how to surpass those obstacles consistently and flawlessly.

If Lebron could play like Michael Jordan, he would. Lebron never had those types of skills to do so. That's why he never develop a midrange shot, never worked on foot work to get separation, never had true grit to be a leader, never carried a team and drag them to victory without someone bailing him out, never upped his ball handling skills, never can count on him in the clutch moments, as a matter of fact they change the clutch time backwards to 5 minutes just to make Lebron look like he is clutch. Why would they do all this if he was good??? Because if you would have given Michael Jordan all this help he wouldn't lose at all , he would have been 13 straight years with championships. Getting to 8 straight finals without killer instinct. Having the highest average in elimination games in NBA history without killer instinct. Leading both teams in Pts, Rebounds, Steals, Blocks....in the finals without killer instinct. So MJ getting destroyed by Detroit for years with Killer Instinct. MJ getting sweep in the first round with Killer Instinct?

the only people who say there really is no such thing as GOAT are disgruntled LeBron fans who are ready to give up that LeBron really cant ever be GOAT because of all his failures they are the same ones who say making the Finals 8 times in a row and losing 6 times in Finals is better than going to 2 threepeats and being undefeated in Finals all six times
@eddcruz5658
@eddcruz5658 4 года назад
youBoob no not really, the only reason theirs not a goat is because it’s a team game. It’s not like boxing or individual sports were you could clearly say who’s the greatest. And losing or wining championship shouldn’t really go with or against a player because it’s a TEAM accomplishment. I see MJ as being the greatest player in the 90s and Kobe as the best player of the 2000s but I don’t view one player to be the greatest because they haven’t play in that era.
@youboob6297
@youboob6297 4 года назад
@@eddcruz5658 you cant really say Jordan is greatest in 90s then and Kobe is greatest in 2000s if there is no such thing as GOAT since basketball is a team sport, then. there is no greatest in any era because its a team sport you can say what Jordan himself said "there is no such thing as GOAT because its disrespectful to everyone who played before you. i would rather like to say which is the GREATEST TEAM of all time." and then what LeBron said "I thought to myself, nobody ever did that, to come back from down 3-1 against the greatest team of all time? i thought to myself thats special, that makes Me, THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME. it was THAT special." oh it seems LeBron thinks youre wrong. he believes there is such a thing as GOAT and it is him. he doesnt care about disrespecting past greats but Jordan agrees with you, he thinks there is no such thing as GOAT because it disrespects past greats. he would rather think of great TEAMS. Kobe also didnt think in terms of GOAT. he just thought of who works hardest on his game is what makes a great player

Skip is making fun of Lebron when he had no help against the magic or Boston in the conference finals and in the semifinals. While Jordan didn’t actually make the playoffs in his first 3 years. Their were only 11 teams in the east and 8 teams made it. Jordan’s records wouldn’t have been good enough if you converted it to the modern era. So what’s worst losing in the semi finals twice, losing in conference finals once, losing in the finals six times; or not even making it to the playoffs until he got Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant.
