Wasnt leo high too?? I luv u riddles but leo had that drunken state IQ to counterpick kazuya with marth, who kaz has the worst time against. Cannot disregard the reverse 3-0 by the 🐐
@@sprite7827 I been dunkin’ on n***az with Marth since Melee. If you’ve got gawdlike footsies like I do, it’s a wrap. I’m him. I’ve been that guy since day AND to this day. Dark Samus, Young Link, Kirby, & Marth are top 3.
I have been watching smash for so long and I never ever get tired of watching Leo play, he is seriously so unbelievable and I'm just amazed every time at the things he does and how much sheer skill he has. The best ever, and it's not even close (not like that's debated).
Marth is my favourite character in the game so this made me happy. He's so underrated, people forget he has the same frame data as lucina, he just needs spacing. Pair this with fundies and slingshots, he's op as hell
I have all the respect in the world for Riddles. He's one of the best. But I wish he would drop that broken as character. It makes me root against him, and I don't like that.
0:30 is the best player in the world not letting himself getting killed by cheese crap tactics from Kazuya. Riddles is way to accostumed to take a stock from almost everyone with that stuff. Yeah, Leo is just on his own level. He is using a Marth for god's sake and people think Leo always plays serious. Riddles has never been a match for leo. Also I liked the dude screaming at the back everytime Kazuya hit leo because that was almost a guaranteed stock
@@MetalHero73 MkLeo used Marth's UpB bc it's invincible Frame 1 in the air. Saving him from the Kazuya cheese. That's what I meant... I guess u managed to not get that.
And he timed it correctly. It’s part of his kit. His recovery kit. The fact that you guys are calling it a cheese shows you only play cheese carry characters
Very nice. Also 4:45 is a perfect example of why everyone hates Kazuya. You can play perfectly but the most minor misstep will let to a touch and touch = death
I wish people still played melee or that there was any way to play it with people online. Oh, well. Time moves on, and you have to play the new games whether you like them more or not
Uhh- there is- there is this thing called slipi and there are huge melee torneys online on there, and plus melee is HUGE right now, not as popular as ultimate but SO many people still play it- there are still majors to fly out to and everything
This is why you never count a character out, ESPECIALLY Marth. Also the reactions to Marth actually being viable against *top-level Kazuya* will always be hilarious.
Not totally surprising, Kazuya's main weakness is swords just like the other FGC characters. Marth is just a less forgiving Lucina, Leo just has pure skill and fundies and makes every character he uses look broken
@@danbaruch3087 weak against swords? Ewgf (his kill at any percent move) has upper body intangibility, which means he can simply anti air all marths aerials by running under them and take a stock. It's enough to win against pyra's d-air. That should tell you all about this characters weakness to swords.
@@danbaruch3087 fgc's destroy swordies due to lack of multi-hit aerials; any parried aerial leads into a full combo while swordies after their first BnB have to scrap for 10-20 percent per interaction.
@@commenterthatcomments835 at high levels of play players can parry multi hit aerials as well, and swordies can edge guard fgc characters better than pretty much every character so it's not just about winning interactions. Only thing is that you need actual skill as the swordie, not so much for the fgc.
Unlike a lot of Top Players in Smash 4/Ultimate history, people tend to forget that MKLeo doesn't cave to the meta like, ever. He'll play obtuse characters when the chips are down that are stronger than most of the cast, hell that's basically what his plays into Pyra/Mythra and the rare R.O.B's have always been, but MKLeo really is at home when he plays a character he wants to play. If you pay attention to his Twitter you'll see him pine for Marth over and over and over again. I don't know if Marth will ever be a major viable character, but I know for sure that eventually he's going to have a Marth that rivals his Byleth in terms of raw skill. And considering that when Marth *does* get to be a good character he has a lot of really powerful strengths, MKLeo Marth is potentially terrifying.
Yeah. Unlike most players, Leo *believes* in the characters he likes to play. That's one big reason why he's the best IMO. He doesn't play top tiers just because they're top tier, he plays whoever just because he likes them. Remember when people were trashing on Byleth? Now people want to see Leo play him almost all the time. I bet that'll happen with Marth next year. People who said Marth sucked will finally see they were uneducated about him.
The guy is a bit like Knee, they are going to use something storng, sure, but he knows the matchups, he knows the characters, he knows the strats, no matter the situation he is oging to put on a show.
idk why, maybe dont use a broken character that requires timing vs skill....you can clearly see the difference in an actually pro player over someone taking advantage of a broken gimmick.
@@Rye___ Guaranteed, Riddles bodies you with any character in the game. That mind set is just so painfully childish. Kazuya is absurd in a lot of ways, outside of Riddles and Tea, where are Kazuya's great results? People love to complain and whine when they get zero to deathed.
@@LordVerdo exactly you can't just use the gimmick you need skill too and riddles shows that, but kazuya just gets hate even tho you need to master some high level shit to use him against pro player's
I know Leo popped off here but, damn those combos from Riddles with Kazuya are nuts. 114% off one combo starting from 0% should have been a sure kill..
And the funny thing is- riddles was having a hard time hitting all his combos with Marth being a floaty, imagine how easy these combos are against fox, You can do confirms into sweet spot forward smash and that kills at like 40.
@@kayden2119 it matters cus fox is a lot easier to combo with kazuya and many more characters, and I was just giving a example because fox falls the fastest. (Mkleo plays with characters that fall fast enough to be easy to combo EXCEPT marth) Marth floats so much. Riddles probably wasn’t mentally ready for it since mkleo hasn’t pulled out such a floaty character since 2019. So from a matchup standpoint, mkleos best character for this matchup might actually be marth funny enough. It just depends, I’d like to see this go down again except with riddles being more prepared to see the best marth in the world probably.
A lot of people don’t understand certain fire emblem characters (due to a lot of copies) so let me explain a bit Marth: You play passive cause you need to rely on tipper Lucina: can be played either aggressive or passive Chrom: aggressive however less ledge guarding then Lucina Roy: should be the most aggressive due to the sweet spot on everywhere but the tip They may all be similar but you play them completely differently ✌️
fr man. i didnt expect to see so many people hating on riddles, i love liquid and i think riddles deserves what he gets, kazuya isnt even like a top 8 character imo. hes just really good with fighting game characters. he won a major with a character that has the 2nd worst disadvantage state in the game. people just need to get better at advantage and stop complaining about kazuyas combo game.
Honestly in my opinion it's just a matchup check, Kazuya has tough guy and Leo knows this and still used the multi hit side-b. The same thing basically happened to Riddles at 0:30 when he tried to do the triple dunk on a character with a frame 3 invulnerable recovery missing the tech because he wasn't ready.
@@pinguferrari the problem doesn't come from multihits but from the delay before, however, death at 23% because you lightly delayed the side-B in center stage doesn't seem fair
@@fourniervictor9354 If you set the playback to 0.5 you can definitely see the down angled side-b multihits connect and Kazuya armouring through. Not alot of Kazuya players would have dared to use side-b in that situation, if it got shielded he would probably be put in a really bad spot by Leo considering how extremely laggy it is. So it's a pretty niche situation, but with very good awareness from Riddles. No question that dying at 23% is early, but the fact that he got it from such a risky move makes it a little more fair in my opinion.
Lol these comments. Kazuya is pay to win don't pretend you can't pickup a controller lab for an hour and can't do half of that. Incredibly dishonest character.
@@HeroC14 After an hour I would be surprised to see someone do three electrics in a row. Let alone hit anything meaningful in a tournament setting. There's a reason you see even Riddles dropping so many things these three games, Kazuya is in my opinion without a doubt the most execution heavy character in this game.
