He took the hat off a player. Years later that umpire owned a bar in Florida and had that same hat in his bar/restaurant. That player whose hat was taken came to that bar and had a conversation with the former umpire. True story.
@@emilywenig4390 Actually, now that the truth has come out, your original comment aged just fine. We of course now know how widespread the cheating was in 2017-2018, and thus that championship was on an even playing field and just as valid as any other.
Lifelong reds fan here. Watching this reminds me of how good we were, but in my lifetime we have never even won a playoff series or wild card game. I wonder if Cincinnati will ever see championship baseball again.
To be fair most fans of both the Cubs and Indians have been waiting the same amount of time, nobody from 1908 is alive to remember that series, most people alive in 1948 old enough to remember that Series is dead.

Ten two Um, that type of comment just shows everyone that you "scout out" for comments to reply to in order to get drama. Man, nobody can take a comment these days, can they?
@@ryanmcintyre4202 So you're saying that no one deserved the World Series wins in 2017 and 2018? Because the cheating was widespread throughout baseball then.
Final Plays 2018-2021: 2018: Red Sox def. Dodgers 4-1 (Trevor Sale struck out Manny Machado on an 0-2 pitch) 2019: Nationals def. Astros 4-3 (Daniel Hudson struck out Michael Brantley on a 3-2 pitch) 2020: Dodgers def. Rays 4-2 (Julio Urias struck out Willy Adames on a 1-2 pitch) 2021: Braves def. Astros 4-2 (Yuli Gurriel hit a 3-2 chopper to Dansby Swanson, who threw to Freddie Freeman)
Love the compilation and love the comments. I am so glad to hear your passion. Question for you guys: Do you really think that baseball is dying as a main sport, that people care more about football and basketball?
That's not the last pitch of the 1984 World Series. Alan Wiggins popped out to Lance Parrish for the second out of the ninth - the play you showed - before Tony Gwynn flew out to left two pitches later.
Cubs are good and cool they have the best bating catching running pitching 2018 chicago cubs will win again vs Cleveland who votes for cubs who do u think will win if the cubs vs Cleveland again chose
As a Tigers fan, I was looking forward to Larry Herndon flagging down Tony Gwynn's fly ball for the last out of the 1984 series, and then watching madness break loose. It looks like this video shows the 26th out.
