This lifelong Cubs fan feels a little sorry for the Cleveland Indians. Everyone else in this video was SO much more recent. To suddenly go black and white was startling. We in Chicago know what droughts feel like. On top of that, I have nothing but respect for the Indians team we beat in 2016. They made us earn every run and every win. They went down swinging, and I hope they get their WS win soon.
1. LA Dodgers- 2020 2. Washington Nationals- 2019 3. Boston Red Sox- 2018 4. Houston Asterisks- 2017 5. Chicago Cubs- 2016 6. Kansas City Royals- 2015 7. San Fran Giants- 2014 8. St Louis Cardinals- 2011 9. NY Yankees- 2009 10. Philadelphia Phillies- 2008 11. Chicago White Sox- 2005 12. Miami Marlins- 2003 13. LA Angels- 2002 14. Arizona Diamondbacks- 2001 15. Atlanta Braves- 1995 16. Toronto Blue Jays- 1993 17. Minnesota Twins- 1991 18. Cincinnati Reds- 1990 19. Oakland A's- 1989 20. NY Mets- 1986 21. Detroit Tigers- 1984 22. Baltimore Orioles- 1983 23. Pittsburgh Pirates- 1979 24. Cleveland Indians- 1948 Never Won 25. San Diego Padres 26. Tampa Bay Rays 27. Colorado Rockies 28. Milwaukee Brewers 29. Seattle Mariners 30. Texas Rangers
Seattle, Nationals - Never made it to the World Series Padres - Two appearances, but lost to two of the best teams ever (1984 Tigers, 1998 Yankees) Rays - Lost in five to the Phillies Rangers - One strike away twice in Game 6 before losing in seven Brewers - Lost a 3-2 series lead to the Cardinals Rockies - Swept in four vs. the Red Sox
Rangers were TWICE one strike away from winning the World Series. (Freese in the 9th, Berkman in the 10th). As an Astros fan I don't like the Cardinals, but as a Houstonian I hate Dallas so both of those hits are 2 of the sweetest non Houston sports moments.
Swing and a miss! Struck 'em out! The Philadelphia Phillies are 2008 World Champions of BASEBALL! One of the best calls ever and one of the best dogpiles ever. Now let's beat the Pirates today
Anthony Draghi No, they would still move. Keep in mind that the same guy who screwed over the Marlins twice, is the same guy who owned the Expos at the time. He also did the same exact thing in 1995 by selling off most of the best players from the 1994 team. This is what killed the team in Montreal, and it would have done the same if they won in 1994.
2019 me: Man I can't wait to see the Rockies win some day! 2045 me: Man I can't wait to see the Rockies win some day! Dead me in my grave: Man I can't wait to see the Rockies win some day!
I feel so bad for you guys. Not only have the Mariners never played in a WS, but they also currently have the longest playoff drought in professional sports. I hope they'll return to the postseason soon, even as a WC team
Yay! Its in the correct order! Not alphabetical! Does anyone else hear little Anakins "Yippee!!!" when these grown men jump with their hands up? Haha You should do another video for the closest the other teams have come
Seeing that the Astros won the World Series and the Indians were one game away, they lost to some great teams and in 2017 there starting rotation was suffering from injuries and I think 2016 was just lack of experience for guys like Betts, Bogearts, Bradley, Benintendi and there pitching.
Life long Cubs fan living in Minnesota for nearly my entire life. (Respect to the Tribe in 2016 for giving us a challenge!) I wasn't born when the Twins last won it yet have had a soft spot for them after living Minnesota for over 20 years. Hopefully my Twins fan friends will see another WS again knowing how Minnesota sports typically go.
Yes I hope so to be for I die.i got to see them win both 87 and 91 world series. They weren't suppose expected to make it that far.the twins and braves where in last place the previous year
The last time my team (The Pirates) won the World Series, Jimmy Carter was president. It was before the Iran hostage crisis, John Lennon was still alive, the Soviet Union was a decade away from collapsing, and the number one song was don’t stop till you get enough by Michael Jackson
As an astros fan I never thought they would win it but they did Luckily we’re on this list Teams that were not Rangers, Nationals (will never win a World Series),Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners,Colorado Rockies, Tampa Bay Rays
@@deadrecsdogs5751 It is though. Can’t win any WS ring unless it’s a shortened season. For example, the Dodgers got 111 wins and still failed to get past their 1st round matchup. Almost like the Dodgers are cheating! Hey what do ya know, they are and they even admitted it. Several players in the Dodgers have admitted their team cheated especially in 2018 and further provides reason as to investigate the Dodgers more. But, sadly the mlb and Manfred are so corrupted and diluted they won’t investigate and punish the Dodgers nor Yankees for cheating even if they did the same thing everyone accused the Astros of doing.
After the nationals won in 2019 they are now the only team in the MLB to never even play in a world series. They've had Ken Griffey Jr, Randy Johnson, Inchiro, Arod, I mean come on! That is just tragic. I'll be rooting for them harder than any team if they ever make it.
@@EldritchAugur To add to that, the Mariners currently have the longest playoff drought in professional sports. I do hope they'll make it again one day, even as a WC team
I hate the Dodgers yet I’ll never look at the Cheatros the same way ever again. As much as I hate to say it, the dodgers deserve to be given the title.
2011 was one of the greatest years ever for the cardinals franchise because they had their backs up against the wall and still won, and they were also a wild card team!
Yet in '84, as the Expos, they weren't doing so bad, and neither were the Blue Jays although they weren't as good as the previous two years. There was a fair shot, however unlikely, that it could have been an all-Canadian WS that year.
As a cubs fan (I’ve been a fan before 2016 so don’t call me a bandwagon) I wish the Indians win in 2019, I feel bad for them since I know how a drought that long feels
The entirety of LA: Just Spend Already!! Dodgers Organization: No u The entirety of LA: You are gonna lose the world series again. Dodgers Organization: Nah, We will win Dodgers Lose the world series. The entirety of LA: Dies Inside for the 10th time
As a Giants fan i never thought i see them win it all im so grateful to see them win 3.and all the great teams the franchise has had in the past for a team of misfits to do it I'll take it
2021: Atlanta Braves 2020: Los Angeles Dodgers 2019: Washington Nationals 2018: Boston Red Sox 2017: Houston Astros 2016: Chicago Cubs 2015: Kansas City Royals 2014: San Francisco Giants 2011: St. Louis Cardinals 2009: New York Yankees 2008: Philadelphia Phillies 2005: Chicago White Sox 2003: Miami Marlins 2002: Los Angeles Angels 2001: Arizona Diamondbacks 1993: Toronto Blue Jays 1991: Minnesota Twins 1990: Cincinnati Reds 1989: Oakland Athletics (A’s) 1986: New York Mets 1984: Detroit Tigers 1983: Baltimore Orioles 1979: Pittsburgh Pirates 1948: Cleveland Indians Teams that never won the World Series: -Tampa Bay Rays -Texas Rangers -Milwaukee Brewers -San Diego Padres -Seattle Mariners -Colorado Rockies
The reds just need a few key starters in the starting rotation, and I think they could be a real contender. Its almost possible to see the reds and Indians in the same world series
I know this is before the 2018 World Series but Boston now has another championship. Milwaukee, San Diego, Tampa Bay, Colorado, Texas, Seattle, and Washington are all due for their first championships ever.
