Chev, please do not stop making these videos. We need them. As a matter of fact we need all of you guys to be making these videos. Koogs, little man, shelfy, Kyle. We have no voice, you guys do. We need you. I truly can’t believe their audacity to drop more content today with no game play attached again after all the bad feedback from the last two drops. Not only that, they said “ you guys don’t like all the packs and no programs, here’s a new pack and instead of a 1 in 4 chance for a rare round, it’s 1 in 10 now, and the overalls are higher than the TA we’re going to give you on Friday”. It’s a slap in the face.

Agreed, we need streamers to keep making these videos... I stopped buying the game on release and get it a month or 2 later 50% off or off FB Marketplace... The people need to stop buying packs also... it won't stop till the people hit them in the pockets... Boycott next season for the first 2 months, when it's 50% off...

Unfortunately, it won’t matter. Unless SDS is different from 2k and especially EA, nothing is gonna change. I play most sports games and the show was one of the only ones left that isn’t horrible with content. Eventually, they’ll drop insane amounts of cards that are behind a paywall, it’s just how it goes

I understand the importance of packs, but how about letting the player at least have a chance to earn ONE of these packs in a program or conquest map? New packs shouldn't be considered new content.

Can we talk about how they removed the XP & stubs from mini seasons. I guess 3,000 stubs and 7,000xp is too much for playing 34 games.

The fix IMO is to release more mediocre players for ALL teams. Allowing the captains to be more useful and creating more diversity in teams.

My draw to The Show was every card used to be available if you grinded. Never needed to buy packs and stubs were quite easy to come across. Who came up with the idea to reverse it all? Almost a month in and I'm bored. Nothing to grind for. I'm not going to buy packs and I'm not a huge online guy so I enjoyed doing showdowns, and conquest mode and grinding all the programmes. Stale bread at the moment for guys like me.

This game has been a tremendous let down from the start. This was nothing more than a glorified update from 23 and it would have been OK if the game was perfect. Instead they give us the same exact game completely broken. Ramone should be fired because this is unacceptable. There's no excuse for this game not to be fully upgraded to next gen by now. Instead it's the same exact game over and over. The Show is my favorite game and it's beyond frustrating at this point. The content is lazy because the SDS crew is lazy PERIOD. It's not hard to put a program in each week. Give us young players in a program with a pack as the end reward. It's not rocket science

I fully under$$$tand, but I don't understand at all how we got to here so fast. They used to drop programs and/or conquest maps for fun on random Tuesdays, and now to be here where there is literally zero incentive to play the game is bizarre. Not even a daily goal to keep you coming back. They just hope we all love baseball and baseball games enough not to leave. I hope they scripted April and S1 out and will clean it up in future drops, but I'm not hopeful.

My only guess with the pack-focused approach is that they didn’t make as much $ on people buying the game initially (due to ‘23 Sets and Seasons backlash), so they’re trying to make up for it with stub purchasing

This is so frustrating as a player. Why is there no programs? This makes zero sense. It is okay to have cards in packs, if people want to buy them. This is not a good start at all by SDS. Along with virtually no reason to play this game anyway, just wow. Worst state this game has been content wise.

What camera angle do you use so when you make contact it stays on the batter and does not just jump to the ball in the outfield. I like the slow zoom out to the field better than the instant jump to the field. Random comment but it’s something I’ve been wondering

As someone who can only play a couple times a week and unable to grind for lots of stubs, there's nothing to get excited about when you don't even have enough to purchase these packs regularly and have no way to earn a free one. There aren't even fun other programs to enjoy. Makes me not even want to play the game

The only thing that makes this better is that because the gameplay is generally harder and more skillful that other sports games you can get by without the best cards possible. Also we have a lot more free cards and content to use compared to other games where literally every card has to be pulled or bought. This is not to say that this ok bc it isn’t and it’s getting annoying with all the “content” being within packs

Not to mention how much harder flipping is this year finding gaps. The only reliable thing I've found so far is silver live series cards at 50-60 stubs a card. Previous years I could flip gold equipment with players being able to use their CAPs in DD. I'm glad they aren't in the game anymore, but it's absolutely affected the market

Keep it up man, I’ve been a DD no lifer for years. It’s really an odd feeling for me to get home from work and have no urge to play mid April. It’s sad what’s become of this game. Your feelings represent how I and I’m sure all the other diehards feel. Fingers crossed they’re gonna blow our minds for ‘25 otherwise idk what to expect going forward. Keep it up man

Thanks for the vid Chev. We need this stuff cause it influences change. Or at least has a chance to. If nothing else hopefully it influences the community to avoid these predatory content drops. Intentionally dropping packs before a content drop when you know the game has been dry is a conscious effort to bait purchases right before the new content comes out. And we know there isnt going to be a free card that matches castellanos or cabrera. Just a really unfortunate tactic to see in action and so consistent

Im still rocking a lot of the spring breakers from week 1 with Buxton. Mondesi and Castro made the squad a bit later. I just got Randy. That’s about it. Almost nothing else has seemed worth it- and if it is usable, it’s too expensive.

i didn’t play much 23 because of the always 99s was too hard to keep up on the grinding each set/season, but 21 and 22 had good useable content drops for every TA to obtain and use no money spent. the show is just fortunate madden and what not have such bad gameplay and a worse paywall for ultimate team modes that ppl still stick to it and no other true mlb game

I was lucky and pulled a Spencer strider I sold for 30k as a NMS player I can test out better players now which is fun. But there's not enough conquest maps to grind. I hope the new TA cards are dope and it will generate interest again. 😊

I used to play daily for the first few months the last few years. I'm sadly already at a point that I turn the console on to get my 2 free daily cards and then I turn it back off. I legit have to played a single game since Sunday (to complete the "topps now" program). Their is a conspiracy going around that they are trying to milk all the money out of the player base that will be leaving to play NCAA and then once that game drops then we will see the free packs in programs. I would say this is crazy but SDS has given me no reason to give then the benefit at this point.

I don't always agree with you, but I'm with you on the way they're releasing "content". They took the lazy way out this year, put everything in packs, minimal amount of programs. It sucks too because the gameplay this year is something I really like.

This is straight lazy. They’re not even new cards its just a copy and paste from old games just to say they dropped something. As someone who has little time to play yes im glad i was able to actually finish TA before the cards were irrelevant but ive had the same team for two weeks because all the content is in packs . My entire team is cards that dropped day one because the Buxton boost is the only captain boost thats worth a damn and most the new cards dont fit the team so its not even worth buying because my team gets worse without the Buxton boost

I appreciate you making these vids and value your opinion. I don’t get to drop by your streams to often since I work during the day. I play maybe 2 hours a night 4-5 days a week and I am already bored. Flipping the market is basically impossible unless I open the app every 15 minutes. People are prob spending 8-10 hours a day on the app.

I'm beyond frustrated now! I'm just starting off as a content creator and dabbled a bit in NHL 24 to get my feet wet but was really waiting for The Show to come out to really get going and try to grow a following based on how player friendly SDS has been in the past. With how it's been so far this year, I can't come up with any fun content to produce other than coming up with series in offline modes like RTTS. I hope something changes here because I'm not going to start dropping money I don't have yet on shitty packs to create videos I don't even get paid to do yet!

As far as content and the best cards in packs early in the year. Yeah always happens that way. For me the problem is, it almost feels gate keeper this year. Even last year I could get on after work for an hour or 2 and by Friday have 20+ standard packs and a few special packs to open NMS. This year unless I grind a mini season every couple days. I have no packs come the weekend to open and see if I can add to my live series collection, because really most average player is still trying to finish live series collection right now. The other packs don't mean anything when I can't even open a standard to hope I pull 1 of the 8 live series 100k+ cards so why spend the stubs I have on a 40k pack that gives me a 10% chance of pulling a rare round. But sorry I know complaining. Love the content chev, try to catch you coffee and story lines anytime I can on twitch

Honestly I've been saying this since the beginning of 23, they are going to EA route where they are trying to see how much they can get away with putting the best cards behind a paywall. It's absolutely despicable that this is getting worse and people need to be held accountable at SDS for continuing a practice that has plagued video games as a whole.

There should be a way to earn one of the new packs from playing, pretty simple solution. I’m new this year and not ready for online and definitely can’t no life this game. I’m disappointed with mini seasons and them nerfing the rewards your second season play through - the rewards aren’t even amazing and you can’t even get them all again. Everything new being in packs only and being so expensive is starting to turn me off some - especially since these season 1 cards are only good till the next season starts. They barely give out stubs from playing - a little ridiculous

The 'sets/seasons' approach this year and last is definitely contributing to many problems, but this is also an issue of turning what used to be grindable into something that's become monetized. SDS seems to be appealing to people who spend tons of money on packs, which is so friggin' stupid for countless reasons. The Show is the one game that has 'fair' in-game currency. You can pay for stubs if you want, but you don't have to risk them on packs to try and get certain cards. You can buy the stubs and spend them directly on what you want, which is rare in sports' games these days. If not to get players to spend directly on packs, it's too make them buy stubs to buy more of the higher overall players. In short, It sucks and I really don't like it. Plus, I'm worried it won't get better and it'll only get worse.

Heres the tell if SDS doesnt plan on changing content structure, if they dont stream on Fri. Fri is supposed to be BR, Ranked and TA resets. If they dont stream and get on camera and tell the community "we hear u, we r gonna change this" then buckle up cause we could be in for a long year.

I think the problem with the pack system is that its forcing you to buy players, I’ve played DD for years and the packs always suck but theres been ways to get those card to overwrite the use of spending money for packs. The other thing is that you waste money on these packs to get players that you don’t even want, you might want one player out of the drop yet get stuck with those shit cards. Now you can say sell the card but the value you get back can’t even buy a new pack or the card you want. Madden Ultimate Team is super pay to win but when you get cards you dont want you get coin value out of them at least to get you closer to the card that you actually want, MLB drops 4 cards and 3 of them go for 20k-30k if that and the big shiny card you want is at 100k plus for a while before declining for the next shiny card, unless it’s completely cracked or a big name star who doesn’t lose value. Live series card are useless pretty much after 3 weeks of the game unless boosted by a captain or a high 92+ value. MLB want to be pay to win but cant even get that right. No reason for me to pull a bum ass gold card out a chase pack you make me spend 50 bucks to get. Dumb.

I gotta say feel bad for you as this game is basically your job. Getting views and creating content from this game is basically how you put food on the table and SDS is just not giving you much to work with. I work 60 hours a week so i dont have time to log on and see these content drops so when i get time i take a second and watch some videos on the new exciting shit they might drop and watch a little game play to see how those cards play and if i like what i see i might log on later to grind a program to get said card. But now its just like who wants to watch 91 michael young debut... hmmm no offense michael young but im good. 2 years ago it seemed like every week or every other i was interested in watching a content creators videos but honestly the only videos i click on are people bitching about the game cause thats how i feel also. I haven’t bought a single pack this year bc all of my stubs have been going straight to collections, and I have everything in the game done. Any area that could give you stubs I have completed and I am still broke as fuck in game with like 20k stubs (and I have over 500k to go). The economy and content stream this year is fucking dogshit and very disappointing bc I wanted to get back into playing this game regularly again but I literally have no reason to as of right now. I haven’t played for more than an hour in over a week.

You're not obligated to do anything but I sure do appreciate your voice Chev! This pay to win content and culture is affecting ALL VIDEO GAMES. The game creators looking at us as cash cows and SUCKERS. So glad I don't buy these games. I'm on XBOX and I don't pay for anything but the monthly subscription. They need to be more innovative with the actual game and stop trying to spin cheap profits. Id buy the game if it came with better content.

It’s not a you thing. But I’m just tired of the “it’s so they can work on next years game” narrative If that was the case, we wouldn’t go almost 10 years with ranked seasons being the same, glitches from previous games coming back and so on Its frustrating how lazy the devs been this year. And the consumer been feeling the most of it, which has been a snooze fest.

I know packs are the bugaboo right now… But the whole mode is systemically broken. Its’s the abysmal seasons format, it’s the slog of an xp path with no sellable rewards, it’s the lack of new modes like weekend league, it’s the lack of stub making opportunities. These new OP cards will mean NOTHING in less than 2 months. In a traditional format, Nicky and Edward would have staying power for months on end. Seasons/sets don’t work period!!! Grind 89 in June incoming ha ha ha ha ha ha

The seaons format isn't the problem, it's the lack of cards that are attainable without spending any extra money. The seaons aren't the issue because invites competition when all the S1 cards go away and it's time to grind again, the only problem is there isn't to grind for.

@cliftonbennett6420 nobody wants 99 early game, maybe you do because your a sorry ass player who can barely hit on All-star and you need to cope with 125 vision and 125 Clutch, but the idea that we start slow and work are way up to higher diamonds, wasn't supposed to be taken literal in the sense, be slow about it. It's more so, to invite competition. Cuz sure someone could absolutely no life the game at that point and who cares if they reach the xp cap, as long as they have a better team than you with all 99's they wouldn't give a fuck. While 99s are great you can already see how shit that idea is with co-op and how all the "real 99's" can be used.

That was the problem last year way, way too many 99s, if fact some 97's were better than 99's that's how overpopulated they became. Honestly you sound like a veteran player or someone who can barely hit on All-star and all your trying to do is cope because you suck at the game, and you rely on max vision and Clutch. And clearly we can see that 99s don't work the way you think they would because you can barely play co-op with running into a lineup with multiple "real 99's".
